A lot of places claim to have authentic Mexican food, but not all of them serve authentic Mexican food. I am first generation American. I grew up on authentic Mexican Food. El Huarachito is a kitchen that reminds me of my grandmothers cooking. From the nopalitos, higado Encebollado, mariscos and salsas! Oh, and let's not forget the beverages, from their cafe de olla, licuados, jugos and aguas! Oh the memories!

This is a staple in Lincoln heights , they've been around for a while , I still remember the first time I ate here , torta de asada so good it ! Still the same, sit down or order out , it does gets super packed here , parking in the front but usually hard to find so you have to go around the corner . Service for me has been nice , not sure if they speak English but I always order in Spanish ! Family friendly ! Recently went for guacamole , mole enchiladas and my bf got machaca , loved both of them ! Guacamole was very taste . Mole sauce was on point ! Machaca was plentiful and very tasty... not sure if tortillas were handmade but they were so good !! A must check out in the neighborhood!

It's a small hole in the wall. Street parking. We ordered the following: Steak Picado - 5/5 - it was tasty! Menudo - 5/5 - my husband enjoyed it! Posole 3/5 - my daughter thought it was just okay. Love the hand made tortillas! All staff were nice and very attentive!

El Huarachito cozy Mexican home style spot in Lincoln Heights this small, low key spot in Lincoln Heights is a hidden low key spot for authentic Mexican comfort food. The warm, family friendly atmosphere and delicious dishes like tacos and Mexican breakfast keep me obsessed. Prices are reasonable, portions are huge and very generous, and the flavors truly feel like home-cooked. Open until 3:00 pm, it's perfect for a casual breakfast or brunch . Try it this place an authentic taste of Mexico!

Saw this on a reel on Instagram. Passing by so we stopped. Wife ordered taquitos assortment, papas, chicken, beef with rice and beans. I had Chile relleno burrito, wet. Just like moms home cooking. The very best! Cash only

Now when you pull up originally you might think, "am I in the right place" but once you park and get into the courtyard, it is LOVELY! Amazing ambience! There is a bocce set up, string lights. It is a little slice of oasis in the middle of the fashion district. The restaurant itself - beautiful. I couldn't ask for more. Absolutely perfect in my book. Beautiful plants hanging, perfect Spanish music in the background (any place playing Natalia LaFourcade is a win). The drinks were great! I had the jungle bird which was fun. Food was so good too. The whipped beans are the star! We had the guacamole which was tasty, great tostadas with it. The arepas were good but the pork belly was a little too fatty (I know pork belly is always fatty) to the point the fat muted the flavored for the arepa a bit, but still delicious. The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. Unfortunately my friends had gone to Funke the night before so they were comparing the squash blossoms and Funke won out, but they still liked Dama's! Small plates were enough for the 3 of us. The service was quick and attentive. Parking was easy for us. I will definitely be back!

The staff are lovely humans who really seem to care about their customers. We have some faves on the menu. The bean dip is fabulous and I'm addicted to the baby gem salad. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

Located between Koreatown and Pico-Union, this restaurant delivers an outstanding dining experience from the moment you're seated. My wife and I both ordered the Mole Coloradito with chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. One detail we really appreciated was being able to choose between white meat or dark meat--a thoughtful touch that lets you customize your meal to your preference. The mole was rich, complex, and full of flavor, exactly what you would hope for from a restaurant known for its Oaxacan specialties. As a welcome appetizer, they bring fresh chips and salsa to the table, but what really impressed us was when they replaced the salsa with their incredible mole sauce. It was so good we found ourselves dipping everything into it. Both meals were served with rice that was perfectly cooked with a great consistency and flavor. For those feeling adventurous, give the Chapulines (grasshoppers) a try. They may sound intimidating, but they were surprisingly enjoyable and added to the authentic experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and patient with those of us who are not fluent in Spanish. Their hospitality made us feel comfortable and welcomed throughout our visit. Great food, authentic flavors, and wonderful service make Guelaguetza a restaurant we'll definitely be returning to. Highly recommended!

My only real bummer was discovering they took the vegan ceviche off the menu--that was actually the whole reason I came back! I'm sure they have their reasons, but I was pretty disheartened to see it go. Overall, the menu doesn't have a ton of vegan items, but they do have some room for adjustments if you ask. My second favorite, the roasted rainbow carrots (the salsa macha was palatable all by itself!!). Third favorite, grilled chicken (again, not sure the name on the menu but, it was so juicy and perfect with the housemade tortillas). Other menu goodies, the steak (ribeye bites) tortillas with salsa/guacamole, carnitas (looked good), cactus appetizer, and cheese (and cactus?) quesadilla. Unfortunately, I think the menu was somewhat curated for the private party but I CERTAINLY think it's worth exploring. A lively atmosphere to add to it all!
