Authentic Traditional Mexican Menudo with freshly made tortillas! Bite size meat cuts. I ordered a small 16 oz bowl .... plenty of meat. Caldo was thick not thin or watery. Spice was lightly mild. Served with 4 soft tortillas, mmm smelled fresh! I also ordered their cafe de olla. I could taste the canela and piloncillo. Took me back to my childhood. Great service too. The ladies were attentive and friendly. We came in Wednesday morning for a quick San Antonio day visit started off with breakfast at El Maizal. Nice and quiet, minutes away from the downtown busyness.

Menudo, hot but needed more flavor.

The place was clean & service was great. Waitress took our order, was accurate upon arrival. Chicharrone taco was delicious. Red tomato based salsa, really good. Menudo, I thought, needed more flavor, the limes were juicy, but I needed lemons! The barbacoa was good, hardly any grease & the torts were soft & warm. The taco was packed, had to remove some meat. Willing to go back for another shot of Menudo.

Let me start saying that their fresh homemade coffee "cafe de olla" was amazing best ever had on San Antonio this place is a Tortilleria which means homemade corn and flour tortillas everyday they have a variety of Corn White-Yellow and Red tortillas the last mentioned red tortillas is common used for the enchiladas. It's a new restaurant and they still working on their menu I went for breakfast and I was a bit disappointed they didn't had pancakes which I believe it should be a must for breakfast I ordered carne guisada with cheese and the guisada sauce was tasty and the meat was soft and delicious My daughter got Barbacoa Taco and ham and egg with cheese, the barbacoa wasn't dry like many places this barbacoa was great I was surprised it was really good Friendly service and very clean restaurant the Lady helping us was very friendly and helpful They had for sale the tortillas obviously and some chips their salsa is tasty and just enough spicy to enjoy your meals They also have a small variety of candy for your little ones We left with our bellies full and happy we surely will come back again

The front of the restaurant is easily accessible.

My first time here was an excellent experience. The place was clean and well maintained. Our waitress was attentive and took care of us right away. The food was very authentic. Loved the menudo and the tortillas were very tasty. One of my companions had the "migas" with eggs and one of them the "huarache" I definitely recommend and will be back myself!

    Carnita taco.

We came to try it based on a video on Facebook. The place was busy had to waited like 30 minutes to sit. Was not a fan of the wait. They sat us down it seemed like I had to keep eye contact with them to make sure they were aware I was still there a couple of other people that came after got sat before us (larger party). They sat us and the salsa needed flavor very bland. Ordered menudo, pozole, barbacoa and carnitas. The menudo was clean and cooked to good not chewy. However, everything needed salt a lot of salt for it to have a good flavor if not it was very bland. Would recommend if you are willing to use a lot of salt for it to be flavorful.

    Chiliquilles plate verde

Delicious! I got the chiliquilles plate, sauce was flavorful, my eggs were cooked just like I asked. Chips were a nice crisp yet still soaking up the sauce. I love that they have a drive thru and tortillas are so fresh. Will definitely be back. Oh and I loved their salsa. Not the best picture, it's was early and still dark.

Such a badass place! Wife had the enchilada plate, i had the torta ahogada and they were both badass. Im dying to come back and get the pound of carnitas. Ask for both the red and green salsas bien mamalonskis! Tortillas and chips are good too you can buy some for the go. And lastly, the tacos de nalga are berry nice too. If anyone come here and gets the pound of carnitas could you please post a pick?

To anyone who wants to try this location, I will recommend to order the Calle de olla for coffee. If you normally drink your coffee black then I do not recommend it because it is a bit on the sweet side. But they do offer regular pot coffee as an option. (The sweetness caught my mom off guard). Taste it before you add anything to it. I also recommend trying the small conchas-they came out warm and ready to eat! This was only my second time going to this restaurant but both times I have had good experiences. Parking is a little odd. There is parking in the front and parking in the back.

I'm not a big fan of chorizo, but I do seek out unique variations of eggs benedict, and this one fit the bill, so I went for it. The flavor combination was perfect, and I wasn't overwhelmed with chorizo. If you like eggs benny, give this variation a try. You won't be sorry! The refried beans - I know it's silly to review beans, but these were a bit different than the normal ones we find in SA. They had a bit more texture, unlike the overly blended beans we're used to. Chef's Kiss goes out to these beans! The potatoes - we weren't sure what the seasoning was, but we think it was adobo. Whatever the seasoning is, it puts them over the top as far as breakfast potatoes are concerned. Good stuff! Just a couple of notes: We didn't get tortillas with our breakfast. It might have been an oversight, or our meals didn't come with them. Not sure. The service was great, but depending on the server you get, you might need to know some Spanish. I give them 5 solid stars for breakfast.

From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was special. The atmosphere is beautiful, upscale, and inviting. The architecture and design throughout the restaurant are absolutely stunning. Even the restrooms were impressive and reflected the same attention to detail found throughout the entire establishment. The food was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. This isn't your typical restaurant experience--the menu is creative, unique, and offers something different. You can tell a lot of thought goes into both the preparation and presentation of every plate. What really made the experience unforgettable, though, was the customer service. My waitress, Kreizon, was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made me feel welcome throughout my visit. Great service can make a good meal even better, and she definitely elevated the entire experience. The outdoor dining area is also beautiful and creates a relaxing atmosphere that's perfect for enjoying a meal and taking in the surroundings. If you're looking for a restaurant that offers exceptional food, incredible ambiance, unique architecture, and top-notch customer service, Domingo is a must-visit. This is more than just dinner--it's an experience. Highly recommended, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in San Antonio.

It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing. We definitely will be going back, and recommend Pan Fila to all of you.
