I honestly did not enjoy the food that I received from this place. I was SO excited to try something new. I've seen videos online about these tacos with the sauce. This is the first time I've tried them and it wasn't a good experience. The tacos barely had flavor. The cheese overpowered the meat taste. The sauce didn't really have any flavor either, it was just very oily. The lemon saved the entire meal I can say. That was the most flavor put on. Absolutely, positively sooo good. I got the Torta Ahogada. Bread, meat, and a tomato-based sauce with some herbs and spices. What's not to like? I'm going to be honest, I only knew about this place because of TikTok. We were in the area and it was our last day in San Antonio. We couldn't really call it a trip to San Antonio unless we had some bomb tacos, right? So that's exactly what we did. This place was a bit difficult to get to, just because it's a relatively small place, and the parking lot was completely filled. We were kind of running on a short period of time, so we ended up going through the drive-thru. (Thank goodness for that drive-thru!) We ordered exactly what we saw on TikTok and I saw that they also had chilaquiles on the menu, so naturally - I ordered that as well. They were really busy, so it was a bit of a wait, but the wait was well worth it. We parked in the back of the restaurant to wait for our food. When it came out, we couldn't wait, and just ate it right then and there. Let me tell you - this place is the BEST. Just amazing. I fell in love. The owner was also nice enough to come out and tell us a little bit about how his business blew up and how grateful he was for the guy that posted a video about his food on TikTok. TikTok made me do it and I'm glad it did. The Quesabirria did not disappoint. The cheese on it was super-stretchy and the meat in the tacos was very tender. The consome packs a lot of flavor for your taco dunks. I get it. You don't want to be the guy ordering a cheeseburger at a Mexican restaurant. But you're gonna be that guy. The Hamburgesa Mexicana was sloppy and messy in the best ways. Not pictured is the jerricallas and churros (we do dessert first in our house and they went quickly). Great texture on the jerricalla, think of crème brûlée, but better. The churro was a churro, it's good, but I won't write more about it. This was my first quesabirria and take out experience. During COVID I like to still support my local places and see how they handle the ever changing system. Birotes Tortas Ahogadas knocked it out of the park. Placing an order on the phone was very easy and I was told the food would be ready within 20 minutes. They also just built a new drive thru but I didn't try it out. I pulled up and was warmly greeted by the staff. I was in and out in less than 2 min. Everything was clean and following the social distancing orders. The food was packed very well and still remained in tact in my 10 min ride home. For the mini tacos that I had ordered before, the taste remained the same. The carne asada is just a juicy and savory as I remember. There was plenty of grilled onions to satisfy my love for them. The quesabirria was the star of the meal. It's such a hot item in the foodie scene and this place has a top one. The tortillas was authentic and thick enough to survive a good consome dunk. There was so much cheese that is perfect for that boomerang cheese pull. They give you consome in a styrafoam cup that is wrapped in seran wrap for added security. At first I won't lie, I thought it was too small for the order, but I was so wrong. Even with multiple dunks of my quesabirria and spoonfulls of the consome there was a good amount leftover. The meat was very tender and they were not shy when they packed it in the four quesabirrias. It was the right consistency and not too fatty. The onion and cilantro went perfect with the order too. I'd recommend trying this place out for their quesabirria, the flavors from here are always on point and this is one hits the spot for sure. read more

The flavor was really good, the inky thing for me was that the consome that comes with it was a little too greasy for me. I am not used to eating too much greasy so it was very heavy on me. El comio la torta ahogada y yo unos tacos Dorados al pagar en la caja me hizo repetir la cajera y mesara la cual fue la misma persona lo que ordenamos y repeti una torta ahogada, unos tacos dorados los cuales estos últimos el precio fue de 6.99 pero como los pedi con carne decia que era un dólar extra lo cual me parece correcto, pague y le deje TIP, pero al salir del restaurante se me hizo elevado el precio asi que chequie el recibo y mire que me cobro los tacos caprichosos asi decia el recibo que el precio era de $12.99 me regrese y le dije que había un error, y me dijo que costaban lo mismo los tacos dorados de papa y los caprichos le dije chequea el Menu porque yo mire que serian 6.99 y un dólar extra por carne asi que el precio total seria $7.99 y me dijo perdón tienes razón me equivoqué te regresare 3 dolares le dije porque 3? Si son 5?? Dijo son 4!! Y ya molesta todavía la señora , se me hace una falta de respeto porque los precios están claros en el Menu pero no quise discutir por 5 dolares y me fui pero que falta de educación y robo a la clientela en fin Jamas volvere!!
