I've eaten here now the 4th time, every time has been great (if you dine in) , but this last time was terrible. I ordered the 8oz smothered burger with chili cheese fries (to go). I could honestly count on less than both hands how many fries I got. Next I ordered my meat medium rare, well it was well done no pink what's so ever. Lastly I called to speak to a manager so I could voice my concern, was told there is no manager they only work Monday-Friday usually 11 or noon-6pm. This was my second visit and I was again disappointed by the food and service. The service I experienced today was terrible. We waited over 20 minutes for our drinks, over 30 mintues for our chips and salsa, and by the time the food came out, we already waited over an hour and a half. No one checked on us or refilled our drinks while waiting. The staff seemed confused and helpless. Anytime we did ask about our food, the manager or whoever was very rude and stern with us like we were a burden. I never have managed to make it past the 6 ounce green chile cheeseburger because it's everything I could ask for in a reasonably-priced burger. It's cooked as you wish it and the green chile is perfect. I probably would prefer cheddar to American cheese but, at $6.50 for a good day sized burger and decent fries, I won't complain. The management also is generous with emailed discount offers and service always has been good when we have eaten lunch. I had blue corn enchiladas that were really good. My family had burgers with homemade fries. Chili was awesome. Three stars because they are short staff I guess because our food took forever to come out and they weren't even busy. I was so disappointed today when me and my husband went in. There was a female worker with short hair that was so rude to the other worker with long hair . And the one with long hair was very nice and friendly. I dont know what happen but the short hair lady was being so disrespectedful to her she was on the phone apologizing to a customer and the girl left the restaurant and mother worker came in and the girl with the short hair was tell her what had happened with the one with long hair. One of the best green chili burgers...even if the green chili was too for hot for me. If you can stand the heat you can't beat this burger. It is so full of flavor! I was told that the pie ala mode is also excellent but I was so full from the Burger. The only reason I rated 4 stars is because we ordered a taco that never came. We did remind the server but also cancelled at the same time. The place was clean, staff personable and even got a 20% veterans discount. The price was reasonable also. I have only had their green chili cheeseburger special - many times - so cannot vouch for other menu items. By far, the best green chili cheeseburger meal for the best price in Santa Fe. Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and fries. I get the green chili on the side because, although good, it is a bit potent for me. And the fries are fresh cut. And you can sit and be served, so it is not "fast food" but orders are served pretty quickly. Friendly service too. I don't eat red meat often, but when I do, this place is a treat. read more

El Milagro was recommended to us having excellent burgers and excellent sopapillas. As a short time visitor to Santa Fe, I had one goal - eat a whole heck of a lot of delicious sopapillas. So when I came here for dinner, that was the goal. Eat a little bit of "dinner" (i.e. one chili relleno), and then eat a lot of sopapillas with honey. It was very clear to me that the restaurant wasn't designed for such a customer, but the wait staff was extremely friendly and accommodating to these needs. Not sure what happened this place. It used to be good. Last two times I was very disappointed and I feel deserves1 or 2 stars. I'm giving it a three since I'm hoping they can improve. Last two times my burger was over done and coldish. (They can never cook the burger to order so why even ask how I want it cooked?) The fry's were cold and tasted like yesterdays fry's. The food at El Milagro is always very good. But today was the last straw. We will not be going back. The older blonde lady who runs the front of the restaurant is not always friendly. Tonight she was absolutely rude. When I ordered my tacos she asked what side I wanted. When I asked if I could get two she said, "Nope! One is all you get." An elderly lady came in and asked for a senior menu. Blondie rolled her eyes and told her "Nope. This is what you get." When we went to pay we had a restaurant.com certificate to use. She called a number(all you have to do is hit validate on the online certificate) and told me that I'd used the certificate before. I showed her on the certificate where it showed I bought it today. She refused and told me I would need to pay my bill and call the website for the certificate because she wasn't taking it. I just wish the service was better because it really is one of the best in town. I guess I'll be transferring that certificate for another restaurant. read more

I went to eat here on a Tuesday night before a movie with 4 other friends. Not only were they out of almost everything we tried to order both beer and food, including the special, but the server was very sarcastic and never came to refill any drinks or bother to follow up with us. We literally waited 40 minutes for food before I finally got up to inquire about our meal to find her unapologetically say that the order was still being cooked and that burgers take a long time(?) When I looked into the kitchen the cook didn't even have any of our food on the grill and we had watched other tables come and go!
