El Paisa is located in Central Falls. There are many Colombian, Mexican, and other latin restaurants in the neighborhood. El Paisa has a few parking spots reserved, but there is street parking available as well. We had to park on the street since all the reserved spots were taken. El Paisa is a fairly large restaurant with plenty of seating. When we first arrived around 12:00pm on a Sunday, there weren't too many people but once it was 12:30pm - 1:00pm, the restaurant was packed with families. It feels like a great place for friends and family gather. There are Botero paintings on the wall (I enjoy his paintings). They also have a large patio but since it was February, it was not set up. The menu was all in Spanish, but I knew enough to read and order. We started with the Jugo de Mango and Jugo de Guanabana in milk. It was very good. I ordered the Mini Bandeja Paisa #3 which has rice, beans, chorizo, fried egg, chicharron, arepa - round corn bread, plantain, and your meat choice. I chose pork. The dish was very filling and everything was flavored really well. My husband had the Calentado. This is rice mixed with beans, beef, scrambled eggs, arepa - flat maize bread, and Colombian cheese. The portion for this dish was huge and we had to take leftovers home. We also ordered a side order of yuca. The yuca was crispy and tasty. Service was a little slow near the end. We had to wait a while for a takeout box and for the check. The menu mentioned a 3% surcharge for credit cards so we paid cash. There is also an ATM if you want to take cash out. Overall, I had a good time at El Paisa and it was good food.

There were a lot of menus, which was a bit confusing, but our orders were placed quickly. Our mango juices came quickly. You can choose milk or water as the base for the juices. There were a few different things we ordered but the only one that really stood out to me were the tacos. Lengua! Mmm...cook and flavor were definitely top notch, especially at $2! The food did take quite some time to come out and there is a surcharge for using a credit/debit card.

It's been a while since I have been to El Paisa. Our last meal was good. We ordered a bandeja with Churrasco. The piece of meat was of good size and prepared very well. It came with rice, beans, chicharron, arepas and fried plantain. Delicious.... My step son got the "bandejita" ... similar but he got chorizo and a fried egg with his meal. The service is ok....nothing excellent, just kind of basic. I speak Spanish with the waitress, so I don't know if their English is good for the American clientele. I wanted empanadas but around dinner time, they don't make them anymore....they make them fresh in the morning and early afternoon, but then they stop making them around mid afternoon......so they don't have leftovers of unsold empanadas at the end of the day....so get your empanadas early during the day...

Delicious authentic colombian food. Plantains, chicken tacos, and arepa burger. Everyone was so helpful especially since we were the only non Spanish speakers.

The food was great. The service was prompt and friendly. The restaurant was clean with good lighting and soccer was playing on several tvs. I loved everything about my experience. I'll be back.

Beef empanada with spicy green salsa. YUM!

A friend gave us a gift certificate to El Paisa and we were going to be in the neighborhood so we decided to give it a try. And we are soooo glad that we did! We went for an early dinner on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was bustling with families and couples dining on Columbian deliciousness. We asked a lot of questions of our delightful server and she totally steered us in the right direction. To start, we tried the cheese ball and beef empanada. We enjoyed the crunch of the empanada so we also got the chicken. I liked the beef one better and hubby liked the chicken but we both agreed that the spicy green salsa was outstanding! He ordered the Presidente beer to try something new - a very good lager. I ordered a lime margarita with salt - zippy and refreshing. Next time, I will get the sangria which is their specialty cocktail. The pièce de résistance of the meal was the stunning fried fish. OMG! We ate the entire fish. Very crispy skin, not oily at all, with succulent white meat. So good! Hubby decided to go with the grilled steak which was perfectly cooked. So many sides! Enough for four people and a little of everything. I'm a huge fan of chicharron and their version was delicious. The entire bill for this feast for $63 (includes 2 beers and 1 cocktail). Can't wait to go back!

    Fried Fish Fillet

Cash business only.** I've heard a lot of great things about this place and really wanted to like it but the food was okay. I found it to be a little bland but maybe because I'm spoiled and used to lots of flavor and spices? Im not sure. I don't hate it and will probaly come back again if I'm in the area. Food: I got the fried fish fillet with salad/rice/plantains/beans. My husband got the half rotisserie chicken with rice but the chicken wasn't rotisserie. It came out as a chicken cutlet. The fish is just deep fried. I found myself looking for some type of sauce or fresh salsa. I tasted my husband dish and the same. It was simple and bland to me. Prices are fair since the fish was huge!! Idk if its a typo but they have empanadas but it's listed as "Empadas" (beef pie) which was okay. I don't believe it was fried. I think it was baked and the beef wasn't flavorful. Nothing special. I loved their colombian hot coffee though. Tres leches was good but didn't whoa me as well. Service: Fast and friendly service. Our waitress was very sweet and we didnt wait long to get seated. Atmosphere: Super clean and love the new addition. I was told it was just recently added and in the past they did not have a bar. I was very impressed by the decor and the inside and outside of restaurant. I thought it was a hole in the wall but when I got there - i was impressed.

Every time my husband and I go there we have a great time. Staffs are kind and they are always very helpful too. We are not Columbian so we are not familiar with many dishes. But we can ask them they explain to you and give you recommendations. I love that. The fried fish was the best fried fish I ever had in US! And we love their pastries too. The food portion is pretty good so go there when you are hungry!

The food is really really good but the service it's a little mediocre, if it wasn't because I love their empanadas....

Horrible. Waitress was rude and food was not as good as it used to be. Fish had no taste and rice was cold.

Little goes a very long way. I also tried the chicharrone (which has yelp can't spell for me) and it was very interesting. Good. Very very crunchy- gave nice strong teeth and nice pork flavor. Also not greasy. Also tried the plantain- I am partial to the sweet ones. This was ok I just like 'em sweeter. I look forward to going back. Ladies behind counter were super. Colombian music playing so created atmosphere while we sat and ate. Lovely experience.

Parking can be challenging especially seeing this restaurant runs on Lonsdale Ave a busy street in itself. The line was out the door and that's where I stood waiting patiently. The love moves at a decent pace. Here finally my turn and I honestly had no clue what to expect or what they even really sold but I was hoping they had anything that contained ham and cheese and they did, Brad with ham and cheese for $3.50 I was surprised that was all. They do gave finger foods, drinks coffee and fruit drinks, breads, pastries of many sorts. I was tempted to get a pastry but I stayed focused. The bread was actually good and tasted fresh they only concern which was a big one for me was that there was hardly any ham and cheese in it and I mean like barely none. I could have actually went with just bread as that's what I felt I received. Would I return maybe especially if I am in mood for something g sweet as the variety was plenty to choose from. There is a sit down area on both sides of the restaurant with one big screen tv. This place seems more of a grab and go type establishment. They open at 5:00am and close at I believe 9:00 pm

This place is massive, with lots of tables to dine in, and a bakery section. We ordered the following: Mondongo (pequeño), bandeja paisa, lengua sudada, and res apanada. The food came out in about 20 minutes. The serving sizes were a little bigger than normal (I am not complaining), every plate looked delicious, and all the plates were hot and fresh. The mondongo was tasty and had a good amount of tripe and the right thickness of the broth. I chuckled when I saw the side of banana, but honestly, it made for a good desert. The bandeja paisa brings a litte bit of everything and it all was cooked well. The lengua sudada was very tender and flavorful and the yucca was soft, with the sauce it was in giving it a really good flavor. The res apanada was a bit tough and the breading did not stick on too well, but overall the flavor was good and the breading was crispy which I enjoyed. The best part of it all was the prices. It is very affordable and you will leave full.   The bakery is inexpensive and the items I have tried and good. They do have a large parking lot and it's free. While in the area, you could visit the Slater Mill (they have tours you could sign up for) or visit the public library. One thing to note is that the GPS might bring you to their old location a couple blocks up the street, so do a little bit of research for the address beforehand.
