We waited over an hour for our food. It's Father's Day I understand but don't allow us to make reservations when we still had to wait for our food anyway. My party of 7 had to wait patiently while our ice melted and our cups are dry. I went through two pina coladas that my man had to get up to order because our waitress was no where to be found. We arrived at 7:30 and it is now 9:00 pm. They close at 9 pm so where the hell is our food!!! I've had their food before when I would order takeout so the food is ok. The Bandeja Colombiana is my favorite everytime I visit El Paisa. If you can't hop on a plane to Colombia might as well get in the car and go to El Paisa. They serve authentic Colombian drinks, liquors and of course food from the beautiful country of Colombia. And if you make through the door when Colombian Futbol is on, this place is where you want to be when watching it. They have chicharones, which comes as strips of pork with tons of flavor! Best Colombian restaurant in the area. Nothing Mexican here. Don't know why that is in the description. Everything is great here. The owner keeps his recipes secret and cooks himself. Everything is great you really can't go wrong here. My personal favorite is the fish on the grill not fried. The flavor on every thing is unreal. You can't go wrong here. As for the parking I have never had an issue. Watch now I will next time. As for service just relax and think of your self as at a family table. So many Colombian restaurants are now selling out to Brazilians or other non Colombians and not having Colombian waitresses. If you have ever been to Central Falls you have passed/seen El Paisa. My mother in law was over the other day and we decided to take her here since the menu is translated and I've had a bunch of referrals. The waitress was very nice and patient. I ordered the "pollo a la brasa" which is a juicy tender chicken breast that is grilled to perfection with a side or Rice and Beans and "Maduros" (Plaintains). My husband and mother in law ordered a whole "pollo asado" (roasted chicken). We loved the chicken - the only thing we did NOT like was the beans! The beans looked like they were canned and heated without added seasoning. A big NO-NO for us Hispanic folks. Other than that their arepas are amazing! I have no problem going back but it wouldn't be my first option and will probably try something else on their menu. read more

Ordered the "traditional Colombian plate" (bandeja) I have never seen it served in this fashion but was willing to try, sorry I did! It took a while but we understood because it was busy however the food was served cold we had to send it back to heat. Then we start eating and only continued eating because we were starving but the food had no flavor, some of my beans weren't even cooked they were hard. I just moved about four blocks away a few months ago and I am delighted to find this restaurant. My favorite comfort food dinner is roast chicken, rice and beans. Maybe a salad on the side. I tried the half-chicken dinner with plantains, rice and beans for aprox $11. It was great! And the portion was so large that I had two meals from my one order. The flavorings on the chicken are terrific. Ill be back to try more offerings. read more

Very good first time experience. Tell you what, you want something besides the usual pizza/sub, Asian grub, etc give it a chance. I was originally looking for another place that closed at 8 that I just missed. I had heard of El Paisa, but when I saw the sign that said bar and restaurant, I wasnt sure if they had take-out readily available. No worries there, while they do have a large seated area inside for eat-in, they also have a ready take-out counter for to-go. A bit when I reached for a table menu and my Spanish isn't world class, so I asked the nice young lady at the counter if they had an English menu and she said it's on the back page and was very cool like she didn't want me to feel out of place. Appreciated the friendly service there. As a rookie, ordered the Colombian platter. EXCELLENT assortment of food. Went with the roast beef, generous portion of what you would call pot roast, not overspiced and very tender without globs of fat you find at some local places. The sides were white rice & beans, yuca root, potato, a corn cake (I think?), a tiny salad with a big beet slice on it. Who am I to judge? Sat at the bar for a beer ($3) nice bartender. They had ESPN Deportes on, kinda wish they had the Sox/Yankees on but whatever. Ask for the hot sauce, which is more like a salsa. Nice add for desert was their pastries. Got one each guava and "fudge" which was more like a caramel but top notch all the same. El Paiza is my guilty pleasure! I get the same thing every time I go- arepas con queso, un chicharron, yuca frita, y papas and it is always delicious. The service can take a little long and sometimes they run out of arepas, but it is ALWAYS delicious and the staff is very nice, though if you only speak English (I speak hardly any Spanish and barely understand it) you might struggle a little without a translator, but their menu is in English and Spanish so you'll do fine, just try it! I remember this was such a great place to go every Sunday after church with the family, But now I rarely ever try to go in for anything. Don't get me wrong some of there food is still good, but the past few years i think they have falling off with there touch of tasteful food. There sancocho is greasy, there rice is either to wet or to dry, their steak is always filled with more fat then meat, and there bandeja's seem to get smaller and smaller, it's just not how they used to be. and since I've been going to them since i was young I just cant say they are the greatest anymore. for a new comer maybe they can disagree. but i personally think its not worth it anymore read more

Two of us each had the Columbian Dinner - I had mine with Cow Tongue and my colleague had Pork. The food was excellent and the Margaritas for $5.00 were phenomenal, definitely adding this restaurant to my return list. Friendly, clean family restaurant with delicious food and (very) generous portions, and all at a great price. Service was a little slow. We had tongue, roast chicken and grilled talapia with the traditional Colombian sides -- rice, potatoes,yuca, chicharon, fried plantain and salad. There were 7 of us in our group. We walked in without a reservation at 5:30 on a Sunday (before seeing a show at the Gamm), and had no trouble getting a table. We did have trouble hearing each other, however. When you first walk in it's very friendly very clean and a very nice venue. The people that work there are very helpful and did their job very well. My food was mediocre I have one complaint and it's a very large complaint and that's that the food was very dry and had no taste and they didn't have any sauces. The thing that I did enjoy was the toostanes. That's the only thing that they had sauce for which was the mayonnaise and ketchup sauce. I wish of the food was better because the people there were very nice. But it just didn't have that special flavor. My next big thing was they had these fried corn meal biscuits that just took up space on the plate and they were hard like hockey pucks they were useless with no flavor. The lemons were fresh which is a big deal and good. The beans are baked beans which I didn't enjoy. But overall it's a well-run restaurant and if you want to come here make sure you have cash because they only take cash. read more
