So I originally wanted a quesadilla, however I ended up getting their nachos because it just looked better on the menu. I remember coming here when I was younger for the burritos because as everyone says they are very large and pretty flavorful. I have never had the nachos here until yesterday. I will say that the spot gives you a lot of meat for the super nachos in comparison to other Mexican restaurants and the meat is very flavorful. I do have to say, that i did pickup and the nachos got soggy within like 10 minutes of me getting home. It was nice that they gave you chips because you could use the chips that they gave you to dip into and eat instead of tortilla chips in the bowl. I thought the food was good however, I was not a fan of the tortilla chips in this plate. I feel like some of them were really soggy, which I did not enjoy. Also, some of them tasted kind of stale but I don't know if that's just because they were soggy. Service was all right. Normally, I understand when the staff is short, especially if they are busy, but this was in the case here they were pretty empty. There was almost nobody there, and they were just kind of short with me. I also tried an agua of Jamaica and it was the healthiest one I've ever had in my life. No sugar whatsoever. Of course everyone has their preference. I prefer a little bit of sugar in mine. Absolutely awesome food!! I am celiac and I had the el pastor tacos and absolutely loved them with no issues afterwards. Portions were a lot bigger then I expected and bigger then basically any taco places I've been too for the price. The salsa were really good and you get chips when ever you order food. This was a quantity over quality situation. So if you're looking for a breakfast burrito the size of your head then ignore this review. But I found that the meat was lacking seasoning, the ingredients were muddled like the through pre cooked ingredients together cracked an egg over it and mixed vigorously. so it was tough to taste any singular ingredient. the texture was all one note, mushy. I've been in search for the best breakfast burrito in Santa Rosa and thought this had potential. Sadly I was wrong. My with had the carnitas super nachos. At first sight it looked great however the carnitas were flavorless the pico was mushy and grainy, the cheese was almost non existent. The guacamole was starting to brown. The biggest highlight of the meal was the chips. Thin, good crunch nice level of salt, not greasy, and held its structure when dipping into the nachos. This place is such a hidden gem! My partner and I have been here multiple times & we are never disappointed. It's probably are favorite Mexican Restaurant. We've only been to this location -- so I'm assuming it's the same way in their other location. During our first visit, they accidentally forgot to put the guacamole & sour cream to the side for my partner's California burrito. The staff quickly remade the burrito (literally in 5 minutes) & let us keep the other burrito too. They even gave us extra chips! I ordered the carne asada super burrito & it was the best carne asada I've had. The pieces are way bigger & flavorful than other restaurants that I've been too. Also, be sure to tell them if you want the burrito to be "wet" or not, they're tasty either way but if you don't want a wet burrito make sure you specify that. Anytime we we are craving a burrito, this is our go-to place. The sizes are enormous & you'll definitely have some leftovers. I see other reviews talking about "new management", I don't see a problem with this place or its management. The only difference is the bagged chips, but I thought it was fine when dipped in salsa -- might just be a preference. The ambiance of the restaurant is very welcoming, all the employees are also very nice. Plus, the prices are very good compared to how much you get. Love this place. Been going here for many years. It's tiny and a lil funky. A few tables inside and outside patio seating across from a park. Usually order their taco salad because theirs is the best I've ever had. Last time I ordered a tostada. It was delicious. I recommend both. My daughter loves their taco salad too. I usually get the carne asada tacos which have guacamole already on them. Today I tried the fish taco as well and it was great! All tacos come with a side of lettuce and pica de gallo as well I think (at least mine did)? And all orders come with some chips and salsa! I have been going to El Patio off and on for several years. This is the first time that I and my wife had absolutely disappointing meals. My wife had a vegetarian burrito that had no veggies in it whatsoever. Unless they consider guacamole a vegetable. With that was sour cream and rice. That's it! I ordered the shredded beef chimichunga. It seems that they used a extremely unseasoned pot roast for the meat. Absolutely no flavor whatsoever. This was an incredible disappointing experience. Tacos were $4.50 each but two is a solid meal and 3 if you're really hungry. Quesadilla could easily feed two people or two meals for 1 person. Overall the meats were ok, but lacked some flavor. Used to be my go-to place: Loved that peppy, uber-courteous, Go-getter, prior owner (Oscar, Oliver?) with the black eyeglasses who greeted you with recognition and took your order by walking to each patron, notepad-in-hand as his line stretched waayy out the door. Used to be friendly, flavorful, and generous when he owned it...Not no more! Ordered burrito specifying shredded chicken and beans. They already made money off me straight out the gate because I had them OMIT the dairy (cheese, sour cream) plus rice (filler).. On plate, taste only chicken, split it open and I-kid-you-not: 5,6,7 pinto beans!! I return it and ask to please ladle some beans in there. 3 employees huddle over it debating amongst themselves, and return it to me stating and pointing that it does indeed have beans. Yes, 6 beans I say! No real beans in there! I would've had to order an additional side of beans in a narley plastic cup which, at $15 already spent, I refuse to do! Done! Done with this place! Will continue to scout around for a cleaner, more friendly place that gives you a simple, straightforward meal tantamount to what you both pay for and order! This used to be 5 stars all day long. The new owners have broken the first major rule when buying a beloved business...DONT CHANGE WHAT WORKS. The chips and salsa used to be the absolute best in town. Now, they stopped the amazing in house tortilla chips and swapped them for a tasteless/soulless salt free bagged chip. Salsa is also nowhere near the same as the previous owners. PLEASE go back to what made this restaurant work. I doubt we'll be back unless we suffer a head injury. read more
