I need to change my review because I have been coming here way more and can't judge on the past. The only thing I am ordering and will ever order is the chicken. The last 5 times I've come here the chicken Is just so tasty and delicious. Meat is extremely tender and juicy while the skin is nice and crisp. My favorite part is making the little tacos with flour tortillas. Their chicken is five stars and it is always consistent. I also love their mashed potatoes and gravy. My favorite side. This meal is extremely filling and I actually share this. So a two piece combo would be could enough for me. I rarely write reviews unless the establishment is great or terrible, and usually never for a chain fast food restaurant so let this be my first. I've been coming to this El Pollo Loco for several years now and I've been impressed at the consistency of the customer service and food quality. It's not usually a hallmark of any fast food type establishment to provide any type of customer service beyond the minimum since hey, the food is cheap and quick, what more can one expect? But this place stood out because everytime I've gone, whether it's busy or slow, there's always a manager working the counter with a smile, even going so far as to see how you're doing. It's not surprising that the service was good, but a pleasant surprise because it has been consistently good. Also, the chicken is decently tasty and again, consistent in quality every time I order. I've had everything from their chicken meals to their stuffed Quesadillas, paired with both their spicy avocado and pico de gallo salsas, they're all delicious. Now is it the BEST tasting chicken or the most juicy chicken out there? No, but for the cost and it being fast food, it's pretty damn good, not too salty, not too dry, just a decent amount of seasoning and juiciness to satisfy my appetite. Also, if you download the app, there are always some sort of special deals going on, not to mention the rewards points actually accumulate quickly enough to land you a free meal. This place is generally the nicer of the El Pollo Loco restaurants. The staff, facility, and environment makes it welcoming. Onto the food. I came in today with the free entree up to 7 dollars using their app. I decided to upgrade to the 4 piece meal and paid a 4 dollar difference (total was $11 something) which I highly suggest. Their grilled chicken is juicy and moist. Pair that with the tortillas, salsas and onions they give you and tadaa! You have yourself some chicken tacos. For the sides, I ordered rice and beans. Which only spiced things up with my taco. I give the food three stars because the chicken was kind of bland and unsalted. The banked rewards and the coupons used to work just fine. The order is usually over $50 and my banker rewards keep adding up and I can't ever use it. Believe the other reviews - customer service is terrible. I ordered online and arrived at the proper time. My food was prepared and put on the counter behind the register. I waited patiently at the pick-up counter and tried to get someone's attention so they could give me my food. Nobody would talk to me or even make eye contact. I didn't say anything, just waited patiently to make it known I needed help. Isn't that what people normally do? Finally some sleezy looking dude asked what I needed, and I gave my name for the food right behind him. I got lectured for not speaking up earlier. WTF? Yelp 2017 challenge 4/100! I'm not a fan of the commercials. It never persuaded me to go and try this chicken. So how did I end up trying this place? My friend with kids! They always get the family meal-so I've tried not only the chicken, but also the various sides! Because the citrus marinated chicken is cooked over an open flame, rather than battered and fried, I feel like I made a healthier decision-and guess what? I like the flavor, and majority of the time, the chicken comes out soft and juicy! Honestly it's the flavor that keeps me coming back. This place not only sells chicken pieces and sides like mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, corn off the cob, and coleslaw-but also delves into the quesadilla, and burrito, and bowl realms as well! The menu is constantly changing with the exception of the chicken and sides. You also get flour or corn tortillas on the side-which I personally don't like because I am spoiled with home made ones! Always look in your mail for a coupon! Save some money! Also, this location is one of the few that offer the 8 piece leg/thigh (chicken and tortillas only) for $10. Unfortunately when we got home, we realized that one of the large sides that comes with the family meal wasn't in there. We called the store and asked if there was any way we can come by to pick it up later or on another day. Alberto, the manager, was super accommodating and told us to come back whenever. We came by the store the following afternoon and Alberto comped us not only the large side, but also some free chicken. I visit this location occasionally and usually the quality is ok. But their broccoli can be pretty gross. When I opened the food container today and saw a packed cup of the broccoli looking like it's going to explode, I had a bad feeling. Yup, the broccoli are definitely not fresh. The bottom of all of the broccoli pieces have turned black... If you are going to order broccoli as your side, it's a gamble whether they will be fresh or not. This particular El Pollo Loco is A smaller shop, nestled into a small strip mall. For a long time, the anchor tenant kept changing, because they couldn't find a business that work there. Currently, it's a Honey Boba... Which, being so close to Arcadia high school, seems to do pretty well. EPL seems to also enjoy this proximity. At certain times of the day, there is something of a long wait, as the place gets pretty crowded with hungry high school kids. Other times, it's a ghost town inside, although parking always seems to be difficult to find. I should probably also mentioned that there is no drive through at this location. Inside, there is a small counter and salsa bar. Drinks are self-service. The food is like any other EPL. I have a hard time throwing down eight or nine bucks for a burrito at a fast food place, so I usually get out of here with a couple of BRC's and a small drink. This location, anecdotally, doesn't seem to have a lot of promotions or deals either. Then again, as they are quite close to a hungry 3500 kids on any given day, they probably don't have to. read more

First thing first I'd formally like to express my disappointment with this specific location and management. I came in 06/26/22 and ordered two meals. One wing lover and one 3 piece meal. While In the process of packaging my food my wings were dropped on the counter and as I express my concern and dislike for the way my food was being handle I asked for a replacement of the meal altogether; the staff including management showed a great deal of dis concern For my request. I've been to the one on 262 S Rosemead Blvd, 9974 Las Tunas Dr. and 2528 W Commonwealth Ave. and they don't compare to this location. Other locations their chicken is not as fresh and juicy.
