But what really stood out was the customer service--Oscar went above and beyond. He was super friendly, patient, and genuinely knew everything about the menu. We ordered over the phone and the cashier young lady was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the family meal 16 piece. Came with legs and thighs and 4 large sides and 16 tortillas. Regular price was $60-70 but we got a weekly mailer from the city and brought the price to $35+ tax. Food was hot and ready to go when we arrived. Packed very nicely. Inside was bright and clean, their jalapeño salsa PACKET is really good, we didn't like their avocado salsa or hot smoky salsa. Feeds 5-6 people comfortably and there were some left overs. read more

Came here with my mom for a nice dinner. We haven't been here in years and were really craving El Pollo Loco, and this spot did not disappoint! The chicken was incredibly juicy, and the workers were so kind and welcoming. We get local coupons sent to our house and used one for the 4-piece chicken (leg and thigh) with 2 small sides, 2 salads, 2 churros, salsa, and tortillas, all for only $12! What an unbelievable deal! The restaurant was super clean and felt more like a sit-down restaurant than a fast-food place. This is definitely my favorite El Pollo Loco in the area. I grew up in Arcadia and spend many of my childhood here at this location. The food still hits the spot and the salsa is probably the best of any of the locations i been to. The people here are friendly and the interior is nice and clean. Parking lot is not my favorite but generally you shouldn't have any issues finding parking. To El Pollo Loco corporate , Today at approximately 11:45 AM, I witnessed a situation at one of your El Pollo Loco locations that I found very concerning. A customer politely asked the manager when his order would be ready. The manager (a Hispanic male in his 40s wearing a black hairnet) responded by stating that the customer's number had already been called and that someone else had taken the order. However, I personally observed the manager mistakenly place the customer's order with another order. When the customer calmly explained that his number had not been called, the manager became defensive and began blaming the customer, stating it was his fault for not paying attention and being on his phone. Instead of acknowledging the mistake and resolving the issue professionally, the manager escalated the situation and spoke to the customer in an intimidating and disrespectful manner. Additionally, a supervisor who appeared to be in the office near the register came out, assessed the situation, and did not intervene or attempt to de-escalate the conflict. Instead, the situation was ignored while staff continued working through a busy rush. This type of behavior is unacceptable. Customers should never be blamed, harassed, or intimidated due to employee mistakes. I believe both the manager involved and the supervisor who failed to address the situation should be held accountable. If this is how situations are handled during busy hours, it raises concern about how often customers may be mistreated without proper oversight. I hope this matter is taken seriously and addressed appropriately. read more

This particular location was somewhat smaller inside than most of the other locations that I have been to, but everything was neat, clean and well maintained. The menu, of course, is the same wherever you go. Love this location, the management is amazing and the employees are very friendly and helpful. The only knock I have was they sometimes are skimpy on the queso cheese even is the burrito's main item is queso. They keep the restaurant clean, it has good amount of table inside and outside. Honestly can't remember when was the last time I had El Pollo before, and can't remember how it was. So recently, I went to pick up a meal for the family. It's located in a small plaza along with a cafe and a tea place. Parking lot isn't very big but off hours, it can be easy to score a spot. I ordered a 12 piece family meal. It comes with ... yup, 12 pieces of leg & thigh, 3 large sides, tortillas and salsa. The girl cashier wasn't the friendliest, and borderline looked impatient. That really didn't help invite customers to want to return, being the first point of contact. The chicken weren't bad. The skin was a bit leathery (see my photo, they even look leathery) but the meat was somewhat tender. Though they advertised flame grilled, we detected no smoky grilled flavor at all. It was more of a well seasoned rotisserie chicken. The legs and thighs were on the smaller side. The rice, mashed potatoes and mac & cheese were all average. Mac & cheese was very cheesy and rich. Rice was bland and the mashed potatoes were likely a powdered flakes mix. The tortillas came piping hot and stayed soft. The various salsas has no heat even though it's listed as spicy. Personally, I've always wondered why businesses don't put someone very friendly and personable on the front line working with customers. But I'm writing this because I have been using the rewards app for a few years. Get your receipt, scan the bar code, rack up points...easy peasy. But my last visit to El Pollo Loco, I see the barcode is not on the receipt anymore. When I ask about this, they tell me oh, you have to let us know ahead of time. OK, so I just lost out on those points then when I went today, because I've been doing it one way for so long, I totally forgot to tell them about the rewards. So today I lost another $20 worth of rewards points! what the heck El Pollo Loco?? This seems like a way to get people to not accumulate points after i was getting them for so long in a certain way. Ps you can not log in to your app or sigh in . 2nd when you ask for promotion they will tell you nothing they can do. I rarely write reviews unless the establishment is great or terrible, and usually never for a chain fast food restaurant so let this be my first. I've been coming to this El Pollo Loco for several years now and I've been impressed at the consistency of the customer service and food quality. It's not usually a hallmark of any fast food type establishment to provide any type of customer service beyond the minimum since hey, the food is cheap and quick, what more can one expect? But this place stood out because everytime I've gone, whether it's busy or slow, there's always a manager working the counter with a smile, even going so far as to see how you're doing. It's not surprising that the service was good, but a pleasant surprise because it has been consistently good. Also, the chicken is decently tasty and again, consistent in quality every time I order. I've had everything from their chicken meals to their stuffed Quesadillas, paired with both their spicy avocado and pico de gallo salsas, they're all delicious. Now is it the BEST tasting chicken or the most juicy chicken out there? No, but for the cost and it being fast food, it's pretty damn good, not too salty, not too dry, just a decent amount of seasoning and juiciness to satisfy my appetite. Also, if you download the app, there are always some sort of special deals going on, not to mention the rewards points actually accumulate quickly enough to land you a free meal. I need to change my review because I have been coming here way more and can't judge on the past. The only thing I am ordering and will ever order is the chicken. The last 5 times I've come here the chicken Is just so tasty and delicious. Meat is extremely tender and juicy while the skin is nice and crisp. My favorite part is making the little tacos with flour tortillas. Their chicken is five stars and it is always consistent. I also love their mashed potatoes and gravy. My favorite side. This meal is extremely filling and I actually share this. So a two piece combo would be could enough for me.
