Today we had crazy encounter with the supervisor on duty at 1100 while using the drive through. Julie Garcia. We were using a reward on the app. I won't go into all details but she yelled at us multiple times while we were trying to redeem reward. Apparently cashier wasn't sure how to use it and called the supervisor Julie Garcia to complete transaction. We are 70 year olds who have never been screamed at by personnel at any establishment. Unbelievable yelling rude behavior. We filed an official complaint online for first time ever. 4 stars, it's just like every el pollo loco I've ever been to. everything food wise is on point so no complaints there. Service is always quick and if you attend CSUB it's one of the better food choices in the area. Cons it's in an uppity area and with that said you get a lot of snooty patrons, not the restaurants fault though. read more

Just what I wanted after a long morning on the road. Meat and salad-hit the spit. Chicken was good perfect and I love the salad after jazzing it up with cilantro, onions and pico de gallo. Husband had BRC burritos which were very good. They gave out samples of churros.The employees are very nice and are good workers from what I saw. The area around the bathrooms needs to be tidied up. I love pollo loco and the food is great but this location I cannot recommend. I had to repeat my order about five times until they got it right, Apple Pay did not work as advertised and when I finally got my order it was still wrong. the employees were very rude shuffling through my food verifying that they got the order wrong. Not satisfied with their food or their staff. Didn't say anything because I felt so bad since it was so dead inside . The food is good, that's not the problem, it's the service the past two weeks. Last week I ordered through the drive-thru. My sides were not what I ordered and when I got home I noticed. I had to drive all the way back and all they said was "oh sorry let me change it out for you". Nothing else other than a sorry, no free bag of chips, no 15% off next time just a sorry we messed up. Now today, which is Halloween, I went in through the drive-thru again and our soda was super bad. The dr. Pepper needed to be changed out and we did not notice until we got home. So I went back again told the assistant manager and all she said was "okay I'll check it." I let her know that I had to drive all the way back home back from my house and she said "ok". No now when I come here I guess I have to check every aspect of my meal to make sure it's to standard because apparently it's not the employees jobs. read more

This is the third time this location has screwed my order up. First time I ordered a combo and when I made it to the window and told Precious or princess whatever her name was that my total didn't seem right she closed the window on my face when she opened it I asked her to charge me for a drink since she hadn't and she rolled her eyes and shut the window to go get my drink. It was 8:24PM as we walked up to the door it was locked and we looked at the hours on the door as it said 9:30PM was the time dining inside was closed. This left me very disappointed as we made the drive to come out to eat here. I am not sure why the door was locked but the least they could have done was put a sign on the door saying it was closed for inside dining. An employee came out and wouldn't even state at us. The total was 8 dollar for a moderate amount of food (my money was spent wisely). Two or Three pieces is good enough for the average hunger though you may want more if you're really hungry. I ate here for the first time because I got a coupon for a free drum thigh combo with small drink in the mail. Normally this combo costs $7. I was shocked how tiny the drumstick and thigh was. When drumsticks go on sale for 88 cents a pound at albertsons, I can buy 24 of them for around $4 and they're bigger and meatier(I season and bake in oven.). The mac and cheese side dish was runny and tasted a step below Kraft out of a box. The spanish rice side looked like spanish rice, but lacked any flavor to differentiate it from mere plain white rice(it was bland). Overall, the meal lacked that special tastiness that chain restaurants spend so much money developing to keep us coming back for more. It reminded me more of a very well made cafeteria meal. The manager tried to leave out a portion of my meal without disclosing it prior to purchase because I substituted a side of broccoli instead of salad. Good chicken. I like the sweet corn and mac n cheese if i get a meal. Typically wish I had more chicken. I like their crunchy chicken tacos (fried). I add the creamy cilantro sauce mmmm, I could drink this stuff. I have to ration myself not to add to many calories. The taco salad or tostada was good. Usually anything I try new is not bad. You can get chicken legs for like $1.20 if you just want a snack and not a meal i do that. read more
