I love El Pollo Loco. It has always been the "Healthier" alternative to say Mcdonalds. All of their chicken is freshly grilled. I tend to get the crispy shredded chicken tacos, I tried their New Stuffed quesadilla which was amazing. And if im on a budget cant go wrong with the BRC burritos and dont forget to always ask them to GRILL them, it makes them taste a whole lot better especially with the avocado salsa. I've been coming to this El Pollo Loco on Glenoaks in Glendale for years and have always had a good experience, until today. I walked in with my service dog, as I have many times before, and was immediately confronted by a manager named Marco. He didn't give me a chance to explain or even place my order. The first thing he said was, "Is that a service dog?" I responded yes, and he followed up with, "Are you sure?" , which he legally isn't allowed to ask. Before I could say much else, he told me I needed to leave and aggressively escalated the situation, even calling the police on me while I calmly tried to clarify. I've never seen Marco at this location before, and his behavior was completely unprofessional and inappropriate. What was supposed to be a simple to-go order turned into an upsetting and unnecessary confrontation. To make matters worse, other customers saw what was happening and even offered to order my food for me because they could tell he was out of line. I've always been loyal to this location, but after today, I won't be coming back. Discrimination and mistreatment of customers--especially those with service animals, should never be tolerated. read more

I ordered a Double Chicken Avocado salad and I saw, "Make it Combo, $2, add chips and a drink." I got the drink, got the salad, the salsa... but no chips. I asked about the chips. The worker said the combo only comes with a drink. I said, "The sign right there says it's chips and a drink for $2." "No, it's just a drink." Nowhere on the board does it mention any other combo than this on CLEARLY posted. She said it's specifically only for those two meals (cheaper than mine) above it. It sounds petty to whine about that but it's bait and switch. Now, the lids for the drinks. There were two silver bins near the drinks, both for trash... I thought. The worker said those are the new lids. One was apparently trash and the other were "new" lids, literally two at the base of the bin, other stuff in there. The chicken was made well (thus, two stars) but in the salad, the chicken were mostly uncut hunks that when the guy cut it, he didn't go through the meat, just half cut through. I like this branch. The staff are always courteous and they still offer curbside pick-up. But I won't be doing curbside pick-up anymore because the parking in this strip mall or small shopping center is cramped, cramped, cramped. IMoreover, when I went to pick up my food via curbside pick-up, there was a woman who took the parking spot for the curbside pick-up. I wouldn't have mind except that I noticed that she was not doing curbside pick-up. Even worse, she wasn't even going to Pollo Loco. She went to another store. And I'm sure she read the sign. COVID-19 SPREAD ALERT This location has had two employees test POSITIVE with COVID-19. One is my family member. This restaurant has failed to follow guidelines and procedures to ensure customers and employees remain safe and avoid the spread of COVID -19. My family member had expressed concerns to her manager and advised her that she had to be sent home due to not feeling well the day she was working. The manager did not sent her home and had my family member at the cash register checking customers out. My family member received her results today confirming she was POSITIVE FOR COVID-19. She has contacted this location and expressed concerned about everyone's health and the spread of this virus. They have not properly sanitized and or followed different procedures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This place needs to close down and follow proper procedures. Worst customer service, went online and reported the issue, they provided me with a code that told me to write on the receipt, I was told that when ordering again show the receipt with the code and that they would not charge me. The store was pretty dirty with ants in the soda fountain. Looked like there was 2-3 people opening. I placed my order with a sweetheart of a cashier, who accepted my complicated, high maintenance order. Her computer options did not allow her to make the changes I requested, so she physically walked over to alert line cook. I anticipated some sort of slip-up, and needless to say, I was correct. And the manager let me sample the chicken soup. The broth taste was familiar to me (like my grandmas afternoon fish soup) So I ordered a large bowl ($8.38 with tax) for takeout. The soup was vegetable rich (carrots, celery, corn, tomato, onions, herbs) with a good serving of cubed grilled chicken. I actually love the broth best. Great customer service.
