She made me feel embarrassed that I asked if there are extras in the back because a few months ago, you had a special but I forgot to bring my coupon and the person on the counter gave me one. If I rated this experience based on customer service only, then it would get 5 stars. I usually go here during my lunch break because I work nearby. When I enter through the doors, I am always greeted by the cashiers and the management team. I always see the manager walking around and making sure that their services are being met and exceeded. The food, however, isn't all that great. I usually get the tostada chicken salad bowl and the ingredients are never consistent. Sometimes, there would be salsa and guacamole in the bowl and other times there wouldn't. The grilled chicken is dry and sometimes the bowl, itself, is stale. I usually add the avocado salsa with the cilantro dressing just to add more flavor to the entree. read more

One of the things that I appreciate about El Pollo Loco franchise is that food preparation and quality are consistent among the different locations. My expectations are to have fresh food that is prepared on the spot and that flavors are consistent among the different locations. Today I visited this location (Store 3815) and was extremely disappointed to receive churros that seemed to be prepared several hours prior to my purchase and felt like I was eating a hard piece of bread. Unfortunately, I was not able to noticed the "bad" churros until I arrived home, and I was forced to dispose of my food in the trash. The Manager of this establishment might not care about internal controls and food quality, but I hope that the owner of this franchise will take note and will advice the staff to take care not only of the speed to deliver the order but also of the food quality. This location specifically has the most rude employees, they've gotten my order wrong several times, The first time I ordered online and went to pick up my food, when I got home I realized that they hadn't given me my daughters meal when I called them to let them know that her meal was missing they told me it was too late that they were closed, so my daughter didn't get dinner her dinner. I went back the next day to get the order corrected, I had to drive through the drive-through three times and they still got it wrong. Today I went there and ordered 3 chicken tacos al carbon and the person at the window asked if I wanted salsa? I always get the Al Carbone tacos and they always come with pico de gallo and green sauce and chips... so I asked doesn't it come with pico de gallo? and she said "that's why I asked if you wanted to salsa" in an extremely rude tone, my 12 year Old daughter looked at me in shock like what's her problem? El Sabor de mi tierra natal! Yes! It is! If you remember their old commercials, that was their slogan back in the day. Yep I have been eating El Pollo Loco since I was a kid, almost every week for over 3 decades. And I always knew when grandpa brought it for dinner most Sunday evenings when we were over. That mouthwatering citrus grilled chicken aroma is unmistakable! For the longest time I would only get their 2 piece chicken meals with 2 sides and a drink. I miss when they used to serve French fries, but since they stopped making those, I get their Spanish rice and mashed potatoes. And it is still my usual go to meal here, but today I had a coupon to try their new Birria tacos and Birria burrito with Consumme dipping sauce. Aside from the mailed clip coupons, I also use their deals from the rewards app, which gives you $5 after spending $50...and I reach it often. So this Birria is beef which is slow roasted, shredded, and marinated. So glad I tried these Birria dishes. They are a little different than what you'll get elsewhere, but they are damn good! That burrito is huge and stuffed! And the tacos are the size that you'd expect here, but more filled. Consumme has a great flavor too. I will definitely get these again! I wish my grandpa could have tried 'em. This was his favorite restaurant, and I will always remember our many, many meals shared together on Sunday afternoons. RIP grandpa read more

If ordering through drive through, make sure there is salsa in the bag before you drive off and on the freeway opening your burrito, taking a bite so there is a hole where the salsa goes and then realize you forgot to ask for salsa. read more

El Pollo Loco certainly has a lot of great food options and it would get more than 2 stars for several reasons. But to begin with, the main issue with El Pollo Loco is their inconsistency with their orders, and whilst most of the time it's not too big of a deal it can get a bit ridiculous. The second issue with El Pollo Loco is the wait time. So many times there have been incidents where I was waiting with a whole group of people and everybody was wondering where their food went. People were getting frustrated and some even left without taking their food. On the bright side, El Pollo Loco's food is very high quality and on certain days you will run into very nice and friendly customer service. On the day where I had to wait nearly an hour for my food, the cashier was extremely apologetic and had no idea what was taking so long. She even wrote me a 10% discount as gratitude for waiting. Overall, the place can be very nice when you go there, but try to go to El Pollo Loco when it's not too busy, because the busier times is also when El Pollo Loco gets the most disorganized. 4/10 A lot of great stuff, but needs more organization. read more

This location gives a $1 senior discount, regardless of the order size. Other locations, and other restaurants, give 10%. I was treated in a very disrespectful manner by the drive-thru attendant. All I wanted was the new holiday tamales bowl that they have.
