    Taco Truck
    Zach B.

The El Ranchito Taco Truck is now located at 8000 Marina Blvd. in Brisbane during lunchtime every day. It's the one constant in a line-up of 2 or 3 food trucks that changes daily. That said, it's the "backup" choice at best. If there was a dashboard guage with "Cheap" at one extreme and "Delicious" at the other, El Ranchito's needle would be pegged at the "cheap" end. Tacos are $1 each, Burritos $4 (regular) and $5 ("Super" w/ sour cream and cheese). The quality of the lunchtime food products, however, is about as far from "delicious" as you can get. Today, I gave the truck another try for lack of other appealing options. My choice was a chicken super burrito. The cubed chicken meat was overly dry (yesterday's leftovers?) and extremely salty. The rice was also dry. There was little evidence of the purported sour cream or cheese. The included tortilla chips were clearly from a package. The staff is always quite friendly and nice but for me, that's not enough to make up for the food. In conclusion, I would certainly recommend you eat here rather than starve to death. However, if that's not a concern, then you might find more satisfaction by eating somewhere else.

No buenos and they racist. If your not a white man or of Latin decent don't bother. There food isn't good. I got a veggie burrito and all it on it was lettuce, beans and rice for $6. I want to be reimbursed and my money back. I promise to copy and paste this review everyday until they reach out with an apology and a replacement burrito or my money back. This happened on awl Camino and Jeneven (Wendy's) about 3:10pm 11/14/17

I can't believe it took me this long to find this gem of a restaurant that is so close to me!…read moreWhat's funny is that I always see my friend post their location to this place weekly. Seeing it all the time, I decided to try it out. I went for a super burrito and it turns out what they gave me was: super delicious. 10/10 would go here again and hope to catch them with their agua frescas as it was out when I visited! The ambiance inside feels very local based on the wall paintings and there is a lot of street parking nearby for easy access.

Ok hear me out…read more.. This MIGHT be the best burrito in the bay area. If it ain't the best in the bay, then it's definitely my new favorite spot until I try something better. Every time I try a new burrito spot I always think "does it beat my current favorite burrito spot?". After a few bites, it was an easy yes. Do I feel this way because of the Michelin guide or the articles written about it? No. The food speaks for itself. The location is small. But the menu, the flavor and portions are anything but. I ordered the steak and shrimp super burrito and it was so good. My burrito didn't lack anything. There was enough shrimp, enough steak. Not overpowered with rice and beans. Not one element overpowered. Each bite was even better than the last. I wish the verde sauce had a little more kick but it was still flavorful. How do you even explain a good burrito? For me, you just have to try it and hope my recommendation doesn't let you down. Another plus, My daughter has a few allergies and was able to safely eat the mexican rice and grilled chicken. Note that parking is limited, it gets crowded and seating is limited. But those are signs of a really really good place to eat.

"Great hole-in-the-wall Mexican near SFO airport"…read more Came here for dinner at 6pm on a Monday night, based on good Yelp reviews. The place is unassuming-- has a thin stretch of outdoor seating and a handful of tables inside. Not super bright in lighting, and a TV inside was showing a baseball game. Seemed like a lot of the business was takeout, as people would come, hover, get food, and leave. I was GOING to order the fish tacos or a fish quesadilla, but I was swayed by the picture of a breaded fish plate special. My son got the carne asada quesadilla, and others at the table got a veggie burrito and a chicken bowl. Food came out pretty quick-- maybe around or just over 10 minutes (the fish plate and veggie burrito came out slightly after the other two). I was very impressed that the fish plate looked even BETTER than the photo (see photos of both). The fish was HUGE. There was a generous helping of guacamole, lots of fresh avocado slides, some onion and cabbage, etc. There was a nice bed of lettuce on the side with sour cream over it, and the rice & beans (covered with a thin layer of cheese) on another side. The fish plate was just delicious. The batter wasn't overpowering or too heavy, and the fish was excellent inside (and very flat). I really liked the sauce in a little cup on the fish, or having it with avocado or guacamole, or even straight. The rice and beans were yummy too. Such a great dish, and it was under $20 before tax and tip. My dining companions all liked their food, though my son said the carne asada meat was "just good" (he had a bite of the chicken and said that was better). The person at the register was friendly. And as mentioned, the prices were very reasonable. I'd happily eat here again if in the area. Great portion size, great quality, good value, etc. Enjoy!

The burrito had potatoes, but they weren't french fries. They were boiled potato strips. Kind of somewhat annoying when that's what I was looking forward to. Also, I ordered a super burrito, but it was more like a taco. Burritos here are really small so if you're hungry, forget about it.

I don't know what it's called. But come on! It's so good! Crispy and creamy due to the condense milk and some sugar grains.

There is something special about a restaurant that stays part of your life for that long. So many memories with friends started here and it has remained one of our go to spots whenever we want something reliable and delicious. My personal favorite is their shrimp cocktail. It is consistently amazing and I always order it with extra limes. Something about the freshness and the balance of flavors just hits perfectly every time. Places like Mar y Mar are hard to replace. When a restaurant can stay part of your routine and your memories for decades, you know they are doing something right.

The shrimp was a bit on the chewy side, and while everything tasted fine, it didn't totally wow me. The octopus tostada had good flavor, though. The agua de hibiscus was actually one of the highlights -- perfectly balanced, not too sweet and not too plain. Super refreshing and definitely something I'd order again. The ambiance is lively and energetic, especially with the singers, but it does get pretty loud. It's open seating, so you walk in and find your own table until someone comes by with menus. Service was okay -- not super attentive, but friendly enough. On the plus side, the food came out quickly, which is always appreciated. Overall, I'd give it 4 stars. If it were a little less loud and the service a bit more attentive, it would easily be a stronger rating. Still a solid spot for a casual meal!

The menu offers a variety of items, and we decided on the elote tots (tater tots and elote street-style corn), an appetizer that sounded different, and for the main dishes, the nachos with added soy chorizo and the spaghetti with Poblano chili sauce, plus a side of soy chorizo. The food came quickly, and the elote tots were amazingly good! The combination of tater tots, the corn, and the cheeses (sauce and crumbled) was amazing mix of textures and flavors. The nachos were good, and the pasta with poblano sauce was also very good. The sauce was creamy, with a slight heat, and very different. The soy chorizo was not my favorite, and in the nachos, the crumbled form of the soy chorizo was better suited as an add than as a side to the pasta (maybe it was intended to be mixed in, but I wanted to eat it separately). Just too crumbled and a little dry for me. The service was great, and thanks to Dioscelyn for that. Overall, a very nice meal. We were not hurried and stayed at the table a bit to chat. A great place if you are in the area.
