This place is awful! The waitress that took care of us disappeared for pretty much the entire time we were here. Checked up on us only once. Bought only two beers but was dry about 30 minutes between each beer! The margaritas we ordered had zero alcohol and when we brought up our concerns with the bartender, she told us that she followed some recipe and if we wanted more alcohol in our drink, we'd have to pay for a double shot! Really?!!! I can get a better margarita at 7-11! Lol. The food was ok but their performance in the alcoholic beverage service is why I'm giving this place only one star. This is exactly what you'd expect... Tex mex, and inexpensive. But that is what I wanted! I got the tamales with rice and beans. My husband got a chicken plate. I think it was called "Monterrey". This was a couple of weeks ago. Good portions, tasty, and a good price. Taking off 1 star for the service. You never know where you're going to find a gem of a Tex-Mex hole-in-the-wall, so periodically I'll try some random place, hoping. Unfortunately, while there were some good options here, it wasn't the gem I was looking for. I had the barbacoa taco on flour and added a slice of avocado to it. The taco is a good size and a great price, but the meat was a little under-seasoned to me. I also ordered a cup of menudo, which had a nice spice to it, good flavor, overall, but was really greasy and not the best I've had, either. My friend had the combo enchilada plate and I'm afraid I have nothing nice to say about that. I will say that I'm pretty particular about enchiladas. Yes, you can make them budget style with plenty of cheese and plain red sauce, but I prefer some creativity and flavor layering to be used with the filling and the sauce. Just my opinion. I actually ordered to go yesterday. Normally the food is great. Yesterday I paid $18.00 ,for 3 cold chicken tocos and I ordered queso and chips. The queso was not hot and very lumpy. I've been here a few times but it was such a while ago I can't remember my prior experiences so decide to give this place a shot. Didn't have to wait long considering it was pretty busy in there. The wait for our food was long and we went through two orders of chips and salsa. I ordered the 3 chicken flautas which were ok but were between warm and cold with a the plate piping hot bad sign. Over all the food was ok and the service could of been better. Although our waiter wasn't intentional rude we rarely saw her and had to flag her over to bring us a plate she forgot to bring out, and only one person had a refill and it was because he got up and asked them in the front. In all honesty I was hesitant to try El Rincon based on the average rating of three stars but we were wanting Mexican and were wanting to try something new a couple weeks back. We were there on a Thursday night. (I believe) right at the beginning of dinnertime. There was no wait to be seated, and the hostess was friendly. We where given the option to sit inside or outside...which was also kind of inside. Maybe the windows are opened during good weather? I don't know. There were several tables already occupied that I noticed, so we took that as a decent sign. The place itself isn't anything special. In fact, I would almost describe the inside as dingy. Our waitress came by almost immediately to take our drink order and drop off chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and very good. The salsa was also very good, if not too spicy for my liking. I ordered the cheese enchilada meal (2 enchiladas, rice, and beans), and I really don't remember what my husband ordered, it was a combo plate of some sort. I do know that their was a chicken chalupa involved though because the chicken on that thing was freakin' amazing. I want a bowl of the chicken by itself. Anyway, my food was really, really good! These enchiladas has chili sauce on them, and they were so good. The rice and beans weren't anything amazing, but they were good. In total we spent $22.69 before tip. We will definitely be back, and will probably automatically opt for the outside seating area, lol. I'd recommend them. read more

Although we do add a couple spoonfuls of Salsa to the queso, its thick and creamy and stays that way till the end. Breakfast was solid to say the least. Wife keeps it plain jane with perfectly cooked scrambled eggs, taters and Bacon. Although the taters look basic, not much color, but were actually just right...Hot, bit of crunch and a good flavor. Bacon was great for a whole in wall joint. As for me, I go all out. Only Migas they have is Ranchero style.
