This place is not much to look at, but the food is good. The interior is plain and even a little worn. The chips and salsa is OK. We ordered queso fundido con chorizo for a starter. It was pretty good. They pile on a good amount of chorizo. The cheese has good flavor and the right texture for piling it into tortillas. The corn tortillas were solid as well. For my meal I ordered the enchilada and taco combination plate. I chose cheese for my enchilada with green and red sauce. The enchilada was good. The sauces are what make it. Both have a lot of flavor and a nice kick. I chose carne asada for my taco. The taco was OK. If you add either sauce it becomes very good. read more

We LOVE the chilaquiles verdes. They are EXTA HOT (spicy). I like mine with carnitas and my husband loves his with over easy eggs. I've ordered chilaquiles at other restaurants but none compare to these! They are the BEST!!! The tortilla chips are crispy with lots of salsa, queso fresco & crema with a side of refried beans, shredded lettuce & pickled red onions. We order these EVERY TIME we go!!!! read more

My daughter and I were visiting the Indian Wells area and I had a craving for tacos so I did a quick search on Yelp. At 315p the area looked deserted, to the point where my daughter suggested we go somewhere else. But I decided to trust the Yelpers and give El Rodeo a try. The place was small with 8 small tables and a counter for dining (there may have been more tables in back but I didn't check). The walls were adorned with pictures of horses and rodeo riders. There were only 2 people seated in the restaurant but we didn't get to see what they ordered. We hesitantly ordered 2 soft carnitas tacos each, along with a side of guacamole. Long story short: we loved the tacos! They were simply made with crispy carnitas, pico de gallo and minced cilantro (no cheese). We downed our tacos and ended up ordering 2 more (to share ) and our tummies were very contented afterwards. While we were eating, more patrons had entered the restaurant. The waitress greeted many of them like regulars and we felt that they wouldn't be coming back over and over again unless they liked the food as much as we did. In summary, I'm glad I took a chance with El Rodeo and trusted Yelp because the restaurant is very good but is in a location that is easily missed. Next time I'm in town I will be back to try other menu items! read more

The food is pretty good. Tacos, burritos, breakfast burritos, nachos, fajitas, chilaquiles, pancakes and even the burgers are all is pretty good (plus more, I have had almost everything to be honest). I work pretty close to El Rodeo so I have gone there A LOT, mostly to-go orders. What I do not like tho is my order is wrong 80% of the time. It doesn't make the food bad, it just isn't what I ordered. Not always is it completely wrong, maybe they just put something I asked not to have, or when I ask for a side of something it isn't in the bag. The, I believe, owners daughter is good, I don't think she has ever given me the wrong order or missed something, I am sure she checks it before it goes out. The owner himself is nice, and always on top of it. I just wish the other employees kept up with them, better training and customer service. I still do recommend them tho, it is pretty good food. read more

Chiliquiles con pollo were delicious but a little to spicy for my tastes. Had to drink 2 large glasses of water to put the fire out. Wife had the same but she tolerates heat better then I do. !Next time I will opt for the red sauce which I understand is a little less invasive. The waitress was fantastic. read more

Small, friendly, and fantastic! I had the two soft taco plate - chorizo and fish. Delicious. The fish was light and flavorful - not overwhelmed by the spices. And the chorizo was just the right level of heat and flavor. You can enhance both with the green salsa (sorry, I don't remember what our server called it) - very complementary heat. Go. Stopped in today for lunch with the husband, and it was pretty darn good! I can't say that it was amazing, as we didn't really order anything too special, but the place is cute small and the service was good. I did notice that the food comes out a slower than most places, but it is a very small joint. I had the breakfast burrito with eggs, ham, and hash browns. The husband had the carne asada burrito and a chavela. The food was good, and the prices are low. I'll be back again soon, to see what else they have up their sleeve. read more

I could pretty much eat here every day. Everything here is delicious, even the rice and beans. The chips and salsa here are some of the best in town. I usually order chicken tacos, enchiladas, or quesadillas with chicken or just cheese. The chicken has good flavor and is good quality, not fatty. Btw, the sauce on the enchilada is homemade and delicious. Green sauce is burn your tongue out spicy so I opt for the red. But they are both tasty. The guacamole is homemade and delicious. They also know how to make a good chevela. I think the prices here are very fair. I can eat a meal and be stuffed for under ten dollars. read more

I usually get with tacos, enchiladas, sopes or chile rellenos which are all very delicious. The rice and beans is on point as well. A buddy of mine took me here about two years ago. I've been hooked since then. Turns out my wife knows Adeline. Wonderful lady, so warm and welcoming and spends more time than she should talking to us as they're always crowded. A small place with about 24 seats and a diner style table. But that's part of its charm. The crowd is diverse. Local latinos, local white folk old and young and asians. The menu is what you expect. I've tried the standard items like burritos and tacos and yeah they're great. If you can take the heat try the chiliquiles with green sauce. They will warn you it's hot. The red sauce is excellent also but as hot. I usually go there for their breakfast. For me, the best and most authentic Mexican breakfast dishes. I been to many small towns around Guadalajara, where I was born, and many of them just wasn't as good as El Rodeo. My favorite is the El Rodeo omelette the the chile relleno omeleltte. My sister and I wanted to try a place we haven't visited in the desert so we choose El Rodeo after glancing at their menu online. We got there and I ordered the chorizo burrito which was unbelievably delicious, like it should be illegal for how good that burrito was. This review is strictly for their chips, salsa and shrimp cocktail. SOOOOOO awesome! Chips are flavorful, salsa is fresh with a bite AND the highlight is the shrimp cocktail. It's like a bowl of gazpacho with key lime squeezed in and the shrimps were big and swimming in the bowl on their way to my tummy. If only the shrimps are actually super fresh (as in caught live and cooked day of), this would have been out of this world. Service is friendly and parking is plenty. Not a fancy place, but the food is authentic. It is small with a few tables. There is table service. The shrimp fajitas were fantastic. The shrimp were cooked just perfectly. The fish tacos were excellent too. The ambience is relaxed and the prices are pretty low for the fact that it is so close to the high rent district of El Paseo. We found it a good place to eat before going to the Mccallum theater. read more

This is a cute little cafe - no frills, but good service and great tacos! The carnitas tacos are some of the best I've ever had - very flavorful! The Pollo tacos are probably my second favorite.
