This was my first time at El Torito Sunday Brunch. My family and I came to celebrate Mother's Day and we were a large group of 11 people and got seated right away. Our server Laura served us drinks and brought our mimosas right away. Food is really good and there is a lot of options. Laura was on it with our bottomless mimosas and checking on us. Her service to our group really made us have a great time. I recommend groups to get here early as it gets busy. Shout out to Laura for her kind and attentive service. read more

It had been a while since I visited this location since I was fed up with their inability to get my orders correct and the food was not good the last time. Once again, this location disappointed. I ordered from the catering menu (a Fiesta Combo) and they left out my favorite corn cakes. I'm getting the impression that they are leaving items out on purpose, it's done almost every time. Maybe a way to save them money, especially if the customers don't notice or complain. I usually bring it to their attention, but this time I didn't notice until I made it home since I was so focused on them getting the main items into my bag. In addition to that, the frijoles de la olla was not good. The beans were hard, perhaps undercooked. I think that I'll make this my last visit to El Torito. Their food quality and service has gone down and it's not worth wasting my time and money. If you want good food, go elsewhere where they don't cheat you and make better food. read more

I was gifted a gift card to eat at El Torito. Didn't even know that this was still around. This particular location is rather hidden behind Marie Callendar's so unless you Yelp for directions or Waze, you wouldn't clearly see it from the road. It was a 20 min wait for a party of two and really didn't want to wait that long. Luckily, you have the option to sit at the bar area where there are tables of two and four to sit at without waiting. We were greeted by a pleasant server. We ordered the Fiesta combo appetizer and crispy chicken flautas. Chips and salsa was give free while waiting for your order. The items we ordered was good. The restaurant was a bit on the loud side, but it was also happy hour. There are lots of seating and large tables to accommodate big parties. Overall, experience was good. However, it's important to note that on the menu written on the bottom, in "fine writing" that there is a 3.99% surcharge for labor costs. Now, this is the first time I have seen this in Southern California. Northern California is notorious for this, but not as widely known down here. Although food and service was good, I gave it the star that I did because of this. read more

Insanely slow service: for no apparent reason (it wasn't even slightly busy) our waiter had others cover his table until it was time to drop the check. No food other than chips and guacamole for 45 minutes. No apologies given at all. And then the food was mediocre. Won't be back. Came in for brunch with the family. I was very impressed with the variety of food. The green chicken menudo is always my favorite. There was 2 options for Enchiladas and so many seafood options: Agua chili, boiled shrimp, shrimp pasta to seafood soup. The desert was by far the best with a chocolate fountain. El Torito, or I should say THIS El Torito, has fallen off. Nothing more than common corporate food pretending to be Mexican. Truly mediocre fare. They ran out of salsa. They also began cleaning up around those still dining 90 minutes before closing. No one wants to smell cleaning fluid while they eat. To add to their issues, they have a sign on the maitre 'd station when you walk in stating that they are a local business and therefore must add a 3.9% surcharge to all bills. They are a corporate chain. Far from local. As a matter of fact there are 69 El Torito restaurants, mostly in California. Pretending like they are a local Corona business is poor form and bad business. Shameful. I can and will find far better authentic Mexican food elsewhere. read more

Once again El Torito does not disappoint! We had Debony as our server this time and she was awesome. So attentive and fast, even brought us out come complimentary pancakes and usually I'm very particular with pancakes, but these were fluffy and crispy at the same time.
