I ordered 2 drinks which turned out not to my liking, the waiter said she was told to charge me anyway even though I didn't drink them. Asked to speak with the manager. The number 1 problem with this place is management. Number 2 is incompetent staff, not all but some. If you're gonna run a taco bar, do it right or don't do it at all. The service here is really bad. They herded us in and tried to hurry and rush us out. The staff are all not on the same page. We had a real big party we waited almost 2 hours and then they sat us separately and were very rude after that. Then we were literally told by our server if we can order fast because they were really busy. Wow that's a first. Plus they are not kid friendly at all. The food was cold like it sat at for a bit. Worst service I've ever had in my life. Really rude server would hand us things rudely , role her eyes and take her sweet time to serve food not just to us but to everyone. Didn't even bother asking for a box to go. After I asked for the check she took 28 minutes to be exact to bring me a box to go. I asked her twice now for the check and she took 24 minutes. I run a food group and we planned to came here last night. Made reservation for 515pm, knowing some people in group would be a few mins late. I wanted to order a drink before they arrived.. So went to check in and they got our table ready and then asked if everyone was here, I said not yet but like 3 miles away but I want to sit so I can order a bar beverage and my food. Saying nothing she walks away and the manger come out and explains to me she can not seat us because of the 2 hour min seating rule.. so explained that I wanted to order from Bar and I will place my food order before everyones arrives and began to eat before, she still told me no. 6 out of 11 are present.. I asked if she could save them a table next to use so we could be seated as a full reservation so we could sit, she told me she could not guarantee the table next to me would still be available when they arrived. So we waited, about 15 min the rest of our party arrives and we walk up to the counter and inform them that the rest of our party is here and the manager informs us "she physically wants to see them before she sits us".. ARE YOU JOKING??? ... Someone is our party made a comment about "if you would have just sat us when we arrived you would have already made money off of use" and the manager lady just turned and walked away while they were talking, so they asked for corporate number.. I turned around to the group and we walked over to Mimis.. UNBELIEVABLE how rude the female manager was tonight. I hate this wait for hole party crap, I wanted bar drinks and to order my food, without my whole party being present.. The restaurant was empty and when came out of Mimis it was still empty.. Couldn't seat us because of 2 hour rule but clearly nobody wants to go to El Torito. At least you would have made money off of me, instead now you have an empty restaurant.. I will NOT BE BACK... My wife and I just got home about ten minutes ago from eating at this El Torito. Here's the good: the free salsa that comes when you sit down. Now for the bad: our server was completely inattentive the entire meal. She took our drink order and came back and asked if we wanted an appetizer. We ordered the queso dip. About fifteen minutes later it came out. Unless you're a big fan of melted Velveeta, I'd skip it: it tastes like a block of melted Velveeta with some salsa on top. It took another thirty minutes, after the appetizer came out, for her to take our order for our food...and that was only after my wife waved her down. She ordered the chicken and sour cream enchiladas and I ordered the grilled steak fajitas. The food came about twenty minutes later. I asked the server for a refill of my drink because it was the first time we'd seen her since we ordered (mind you, that was twenty minutes ago). My wife's was dried up from sitting under a heat lamp. I had a total of about seven thin slices of meat, three thin slices of green bell pepper, probably half an onion, and a small scoop (think the small ice cream style serving scoops) of guacamole. The fajitas were not worth $20. I might have paid $10-12 for them...MAYBE. The server finally came back to clear our plates and ask if we needed a box. Never stopped by to ask how the food was (it was not good) or to see if we needed anything more. All-in-all, save your time and hard earned money. This place isn't deserving of it. Drive six or seven minutes further away and go to Anchos. The food is amazing, the service is amazing, and you'll leave with a ton of food. This will definitely be the last time I ever eat at an El Torito. read more

It was disappointing for the fact that the tortillas they provided were not El torito fresh hand made/pressed tortillas, but the dry, flavorless store bought tortillas.... Wow. Called to order a salad and (1) 4-piece shrimp appetizer. Was told it would take 40 minutes. I nicely said "oh! 40 minutes for a salad and an appetizer?" Girl on the phone said "oh you're right - didn't realize what you were ordering. It should be 20-25 minutes." My mom went to pick up the food, and still waited an ADDITIONAL 40 minutes. They also completely forgot the salad dressing. This isn't the first time we've had issues, so I called the manager to tell them we've had some recent unsatisfactory experiences here lately, and that it took over an hour for a salad and 4 pieces of shrimp. Manager says "ok, do you want me to refund you now or give you a credit for later?" I said go ahead and credit it now. The manager said "wait - you do know that the bacon wrapped shrimp is only 4 pieces, right? What do you want a credit for?" I said yes, the reason I'm calling is I was quoted 20 minutes for a salad and 4 pieces of shrimp and YOU offered the credit!" Gave El Torito here another try and they have redeemed themselves. Service was great, management came to check on us which I appreciated. The food is still a hit or miss, fish taco on the baja plate was not great, just no flavor in their fish, pass. I did enjoy the chicken fajitas as well as the fajita salad made table side was fantastic. My husband really loved the carne asada plate and said that was worth coming back for alone. Kids meal is still skimpy and lackluster, will have to order my son something off the regular menu next time. In all, worth coming back for the fajitas, their famous cilantro pepita dressing and the carne asada was the best thing off the day. read more
