Came in for lunch with my family. There was no one standing in the front when we walked in so we waited a few minutes for someone to seat us. Restaurant had a few parties seated and the lunch buffet going on. We chose to do the sit down menu. My children got kid menus but no crayons. My oldest son looked at me like how am I supposed to complete the activities on the menu. A lady then brought us some chips and salsa. The waitress came by our table and took our orders. We ordered our food but were rarely checked on after that. The chicken in my tacos from the first bite was fairly unpleasant and had a different flavor. This was an unusual experience at El Torito. If you're thinking of getting a bite to eat at this El Torito take the time to look for another place to eat. That time you take to look for another place will be better well spent than waiting for service at this place. Was the place busy sure was it "slammed" absolutely not. Took 40 minutes to get our entrees, and I've been in the service industry it happens, but the fact that the ticket times are this slow only to be coupled with COLD food. Enchiladas came out cold with the sauce soaked and dried into the enchilada from sitting so long, fajita plate came out with barely any veggies. I should have complained but why when this is the repeat service you get here. The waiter was great compliments to him and keeping our drinks and chips full. The food coming from that kitchen, management and the chefs should be embarrassed. read more

We had a large party of 25 people at El Torito, and Thomas did an amazing job taking care of our entire group. Managing a table that size is not easy, but he handled everything with professionalism, patience, and a great attitude. Thomas was attentive, kept everything organized, and made sure everyone had what they needed. What stood out the most was his positive personality, he kept everyone smiling and laughing throughout the meal and made our gathering even more enjoyable. Excellent service from start to finish. Our 4th time here for brunch. It is always packed but seems to be understaffed. Waiter showed up once, didn't mention our mimosa was part of our brunch but offered other alcoholic drinks. I asked for a mimosa for my wife and me and he brought only one at the end of our meal. He never came back to check up on us or ring up our check so we had to go to another waiter and ask but still no one brought our check. After 10+ mins, I got up and went to the waiter to grab the check. I couldn't get out any earlier cause the mariachi band blocked us in but at least they were entertaining. Since when is it okay to bring your dog inside the restaurant to wait for you under your table? I'm okay with a dog on a patio. Went last night for dinner. I didn't take any pictures but the food was decent. Not great. I've been going to El Torito for 20 years & unfortunately the portion sizes are small now. Based on that, food is TERRIBLY overpriced. The service was ok & We got our food in a timely manner. The server was nice. The lighting inside the restaurant is way too dark. Had to use my phone camera light to read my menu. It's like romantic mood lighting but without the Romance. The biggest issue I had with El Torito is that they add what's called a "Surcharge" to your bill ( I added picture of check). I questioned it & the server said "it's to support minimum wage & because the food is made from "scratch". Not a very good explanation, but just know that you can have the manager take that off. I spoke to the manager & she took the surcharge off. Very disappointing that they don't have the common courtesy to at least let patrons know that they're adding an optional fee to their bill. Very deceiving. Maybe if their portion sizes were larger, I'd consider the extra fee. read more

Usually, this is our go-to El Torito location. Out of all the El Torito spots, this is the one we normally recommend to friends and family, and we've been here many times with good experiences. That's why this visit was especially disappointing. We made our Mother's Day reservation a couple of weeks in advance because we knew it would be busy and wanted to plan ahead to avoid a long wait. We arrived on time for our 11:30 reservation, only to be told there were 21 tables ahead of us -- not 21 people, but 21 full tables. That honestly felt pretty unreasonable considering we had reserved well in advance. What made it more frustrating was later finding out that walk-ins were still being accepted and mixed in with the reservation list. In my opinion, reservations should absolutely be prioritized on a day like Mother's Day. I understand wanting to accommodate everyone, but if reservations are being delayed that heavily, then maybe walk-ins should primarily be offered patio or outdoor seating instead of taking up the main indoor dining areas that reserved guests expected to receive. We ultimately ended up seated outside on the patio. Unfortunately, it was very hot outside, the ambiance wasn't great, and overall it just didn't feel like the experience we expected after planning ahead. My wife is pregnant, so the heat made it especially uncomfortable for her. The restaurant itself also felt extremely overcrowded and somewhat disorganized. I completely understand that Mother's Day is one of the busiest days of the year for restaurants, and I do want to give the staff grace for that. At the same time, this isn't their first Mother's Day, so I do think the reservation system and customer flow could have been handled much better. The reason I'm still giving three stars is because this review is based on more than just this one visit. If I were reviewing only this Mother's Day experience, honestly it would probably be one star. However, we've had multiple great experiences here before that were genuinely five-star visits, which is why I still want to give credit where it's due. We still love this location and will probably come back because we've had many good experiences here before. I'm mainly leaving this review because I genuinely hope management takes the feedback constructively and improves the process for future holidays and special events. read more

They did give us sauces on the side, but I wasn't a big fan of those either and they didn't really improve the burrito for me. I actually ended up not finishing it, which is pretty unusual for me with a breakfast burrito. The other issue was the price. At $15.99, I expected something that really stood out, especially with so many great breakfast burrito options around Southern California. Nothing was necessarily terrible, and the people working there were helpful when we asked what to order, but overall the food was just mid for me and overpriced for what I got. I left disappointed and probably wouldn't order the OG Burrito again.

A really good New York style crust was topped with a hearty sauce, Mozz, and copious amounts of pepperoni, sausage, ham and bacon. The crust held up mightily to the weighty meat. It was airy and offered a great chew. We asked for it to be well done to get a little snap in that crust. The meat was excellent and not too salty. Not the best pizza in the world, but it was certainly a good one. Paired very nicely with some ice-cold beers. Service was friendly and efficient.

Had a great time at El Torito for a friend's birthday brunch! We came with a big group of about 20, and even though we were definitely on the rowdy side, the staff was super nice and didn't say anything about it. Arturo was awesome--he kept the bottomless mimosa refills coming and checked in often to make sure we were good. The vibe here is really lively, especially for birthdays. There were a bunch of other birthday celebrations going on too, which made it feel even more festive. Definitely a fun spot if you're looking to celebrate with bottomless mimosas. As for the food, there were a lot of solid options. My favorite was the seafood station which had aguachile, shrimp pasta, ceviche, but and the chicken tamale was good too. The stewed meats were tasty but a little on the salty side. They also have made-to-order tacos, but I thought the meats were a bit too salty and greasy as well. They have a standard omlette station which is always nice, with bacon, ham, and chorizo as meat options. The dessert station was a highlight for me--the waffles and churros with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream were great. They also had pancakes that looked fluffy, though I didn't try them, as well as arroz con leche, bread pudding, and a few others. Overall, a fun experience with friendly service and good food. The only thing is the $40 price feels just a little high--I think $35 would be the sweet spot. We're regulars here (Sunday brunch is our thing, and we pop in for dinner from time to time), so we know what to expect. Typically, our visits land somewhere between 3.5 and 4.5 stars. But Valentine's Day? They earned a solid . The restaurant was fully decorated for Lover's Day -- romantic, festive, and thoughtfully done without feeling over the top. Even after 28 years of marriage, my husband and I still make it a point to celebrate our love, and the ambiance truly supported that moment for us. Now let me talk about our server -- Mario. Top notch doesn't even begin to describe him. The restaurant was packed. Every table was full. He was clearly busy. And yet... he made us feel like we were the only two people in the room. I'm a picky eater (and yes, I had special requests ), but Mario took our order to the letter. Not one detail was missed. Everything came out exactly right. He was attentive, timely, professional, and warm without being intrusive. That balance is rare -- especially on one of the busiest dining nights of the year. You could tell she truly loves what she does, and that energy is contagious. It's been a while since I had dinner at El Torito, as I usually visit on Sundays for their awesome brunch. They offer a huge variety, and with bottomless mimosas, it's always a great experience that never disappoints! This time, I came in for dinner, and I was lucky enough to be served by Gloria, who was absolutely wonderful. Her service stood out, and I can't say enough about how attentive and friendly she was throughout the meal. It's always a bonus when the staff makes you feel so welcomed! As for the meal itself, it was solid. I opted for the "Create Your Own Combo," and it was more than enough food. The portions were generous and satisfying, just what I was hoping for. They also had some specials going on, and I'm always down for a good deal--my wife took full advantage of that, so no complaints here! One small thing, though-- I ordered the Horchata, which doesn't come with refills, and that's understandable. However, the glass was probably around 10 oz, and with the ice, it seemed closer to 8 oz. For $5.50, I wasn't blown away, and while I understand the no-refills policy, it didn't feel like the best value. Interestingly, my water refill came in a much larger glass--probably 16 oz--so I just thought the disparity was worth noting. If you have time to kill, I recommend coming here. Our food took over an hour to come out. There was only about 4 tables in the whole restaurant when we came in. We asked the server several times how much longer all she could tell us was that they were working on our food. I got up to ask the host to check if our food was actually being made. The manager came to our table to apologize and let us know that she would be taking care of our food if we wanted to keep waiting for it. Which to me was very kind considering we were a party of 5. We came in around 9 our food didn't come out until almost 1030. Deysi and the manager both dropped off the food together, and again she apologized. The manager kept checking up on us throughout our meal. The food tasted okay. We did notice the manager going to other tables apologizing. We could see from our table the kitchen area and hear pans being slammed, we could tell it was a kitchen problem. After our experience I still give them 5 stars because of the management. The manager coming to our table and apologizing to us really helped the situation. She didn't have to take care of us but I appreciate that she did and will give El Torito another chance. We frequent this location often, but today's experience was a bit different. There was a slight wait before we were seated, and once seated, we waited about 15 minutes before our order was taken. Fortunately, the host, Juan, was extremely attentive. Noticing that our waiter had not yet approached us, he took the initiative to take our drink order and brought us chips and salsa while we waited. After another 10 minutes with no sign of our waiter, Juan kindly came over again to take our food order. Another 20 minutes passed, and still, no waiter had come to check on us. At this point, Juan was consistently checking with the kitchen and providing us with updates on our food. Eventually, the waiter came over to remove the menus from the table but did not offer any further assistance. By this time, Juan had already taken care of our order. While we appreciate the waiter's eventual visit, it would have been nice for him to introduce himself and acknowledge that he would be servicing our table. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Juan for his exceptional customer service, attentiveness, and kindness. Came in on Sunday for dinner with my wife and kids. Restaurant did not seem busy as there was no wait time and a good amount of open tables. Service was OK mentioned it cause she got a couple things wrong on our order ( wrong tortillas , kids drinks not coming out till I reminded her) Our main problem was the food. It took a good 40 minutes to get our food. One burrito one steak plate and two kids pizza not during a rush. I got the advertised steak and shrimp plate. I asked for medium rare on the steak and it came it well done. The quality of the steak was bland and texture was very chewy. The rice and shrimp came out COLD. Not lukewarm, not kinda warm but cold as if it's been out for at least 15 minutes. Normally I would have alerted management and have gotten it refired but I noticed another table across the way had sent back both their entrees. So I decidedly box up my meal and just eat it at home. Wife had a chimichanga and it come out hot and was tasty. But was served without the guacamole as Advertised. Went with my mother and the food was actually very good! I must say that the selection was kind of lacking, as many trays were completely empty and we thought maybe they would bring out more food and they never did. Mom tried the menudo which she said was fantastic. I tried a bunch of other stuff and the only thing I did not care for was the enchiladas they were kind of hard and taste was not good. Everything else was really good! Tamales, bread, tacos, flan, churros! Our server (an older gentlemen, super nice) informed us that brunch included Champagne (we had no idea) so if we wanted to make some mimosas he could bring some champagne. Greeeaaatt!!! Gloria is amazing! She was attentive, friendly but professional, knows the menu forward and backward, pleasant and nice to deal with. I appreciate her so much. We even sang together "happy birthday" to my friend and she even took our picture. I felt like at home with her, like she's our friend, helping us celebrate my friend's birthday. I love Gloria! I would like to start off my review by saying that, once again El Torrito Cypress, has full filed my expectations. For when it comes to service, sitting areas, food and over all the presentation of the food. I myself happen to be there last Thursday and this Thursday as well, and was greated greatly. My server (Gaby) was very nice and very helpful when it came for me to decide what to try or what to eat. I usually always ask her what she would recommend for me to try and only do that because she really does know what she is talking about, when it comes to selling/serving El Torrito food. She recommended me to try the new dishes that have been added to the menu,I believe the plate was called the "Throw back combo". It was all very good and filled me right up, and I completed my visit by having some flan, which was great! Wow ! Kudos to Anagely and her team. We stopped coming to el Torito a while back, and today we decided to give it an other try. We were impressed with the quality of service we received. Since the minute we walked in, the hostess had a big smile and guided us to our table. The dinning room seem very clean and well managed. Our server was very professional and knowledgeable. We had fajitas because those are our favor although we were not sure if there were going to be sizzling or cold like our last experience, we went for it . Yummy yummy! I've been here a handful of times, and without a doubt I'd give this place 5/5 every single time! They have a great variety of authentic Mexican dishes, and the ambiance is perfect. The warm lighting creates a cozy, intimate atmosphere, especially at night. On top of that, the restaurant is always spotless and very well maintained. Gloria was our server for my girlfriend and me, and she was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly welcoming, kind, and attentive throughout our entire visit. She said she'd come by in a few minutes to check on us, and she never came back. The food was bad. The burger was dry, had very few mushrooms, and the bottom of the bun was soggy. I removed the bun and ate the burger with a fork and knife. The guacamole was green but not fresh. It was slimy and didn't taste good, which is a mystery since this is a Mexican restaurant. The server was around the restaurant, but didn't look at us. We finished eating and waited for the check. Again, she didn't even look at us. Another server (younger, very friendly) saw us try to flag our server down and she came by to help. She brought us the check, I went to the register, and paid. We won't be coming back.

They have benches just right outside the door so you have somewhere to sit as you wait. Inside, you can hear a mixture of music, chatter, and the movement of the plates.
