Sunday brunch is the way to go. Unlimited mimosas and a huge array of buffet options. From omelettes, taco bar, seafood station, soups, salads, desserts, and of course all the main courses like birria, enchiladas, Chile verde, chilaquiles, Chile rellano, and Chile Colorado. There is something for everyone. The service is excellent and there is mariachi that goes around playing music for tips. Price is roughly $45 an adult but it includes everything. Certain types of drinks are an additional charge. They also have happy hour specials that are also worth checking out! Definitely recommend checking it out. read more

I think a lot could be improved of the service as well as the food. We came during happy hour and sat at the cantina. There weren't that many seats filled, as we arrived prior to dinner time. It took time before anyone came to take our order. After the order, it took 45 mins for our food to arrive: - one item missing on our table but still on the receipt - two wrong items (Guac and chicharron only came as guac, and wings came with no sauce) - one item missing on our table but thankfully not on the receipt The queso was clearly left on their counter for awhile because it was served to us with dry crust on the top. It was also not tasty. It tasted exactly like melted Singles Kraft cheese with a tablespoon of salsa. The rest of the table also stated that the restaurant used to make the guac at the table side, as well as the tortillas. So, they were disappointed that the service was no longer as entertaining. The El Torito is located conveniently located near the freeway and very close to hotels nearby so they can walk to the restaurant. The restaurant has a great open Mexican theme with great colors. We ordered the carnitas taco trio plate and a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. The salad was absolutely delicious with the cilantro lime Caesar dressing. The service was a bit slow for drinks and our dishes came out at different times. However it was delicious and everything taste very good. read more

Was I the only person thinking this place had closed down?? I drive the 10fwy every so often, I don't know how the years passed since I've been here. Unfortunately, I haven't missed too much. I'll start with this...not the best place to celebrate a birthday or have big group gatherings. The service here is epically lacking. We attended a birthday lunch on a Saturday, we were a group of 24 people. It was preplanned, weeks ahead- with the restaurant's management/staff. With that being said, menu and drinks would be ordered from a shorter "party" menu. The day of: We didn't have enough tables and chairs. We had the wrong menus. We had one over worked server attending our large group that kept disappearing. It took 2 hours to get our orders out to our tables. The food itself, I heard no complaints other than the 3 1/2oz Dinner Steak ( its carne asada) and Shrimp plate. The guys left the table hungry. I ordered the Slow Roasted Carnitas plate and it was good. The side sauce added an extra taste of goodness to it. The carnitas were well cook- not at all dry, great flavor. The carnitas is a good portion, after seeing the Steak plates, I was glad I had more than enough to share with my husband. The beans were flavorful and the rice was okay. Mexican Caesar Salad was decent. Romaine lettuce was crisp. Overall, not the best experience. All plated orders could be cleaned up before bringing out to tables, Restaurant floors were dirty on side where our group was seated and service was a huge miss. Bummer. read more

First time dining at this location and this restaurant is huge. We ended up sitting at the Cantina for the happy hour. Good spot for happy hour all day 3-9pm. Happy hour menu offers some drinks and snacks. They serve their complimentary chips and salsa. We got a Modelo and signature margarita (heavy on the ice). We got the guac and fries. El Torito is great ! I've never stopped in and not enjoyed my food and drinks. During a recent trip we stopped in for happy hour. We were greeted at the door then directed to the bar area for self seating. The location is aesthetically pleasing and gives you a sense of being away on vacation. Our server brought the tasty chips and salsa then took our .orders Soon after we had a couple appetizer platters, warm tortillas and margaritas on the table. The drinks were good and the food was very enjoyable. Service was friendly, the value was exceptional and the overall experience was grade A. This place is fun. Horrible service for take-out order on a non-busy evening. I came in-person tonight to place a take-out order and the host said it would take 30 minutes. Order was placed at 6:40pm per my receipt. At the 15 minute mark, I checked with the host and she said the order will take some more time. I came back in at 7:15pm, it has now been 35 minutes and the host looked confused and frazzled, disappeared into the kitchen for 12 minutes without no word. I asked several servers who passed by the host station, what's going on with our order. They said to just wait a bit longer. All in all, waited nearly an hour for take-out order. The restaurant itself was not busy. Poor communication and customer service between host and customer. Will not be revisiting based on this. read more
