I was able to easily get a quote over phone, scheduled a time in which to bring in my 2007 Prius, and got it fixed in a few hours. I requested a complete swap of the ev battery for a new one, and their price was significantly lower than the competition. On my particular trip, I was hit with a zelle cap that stopped me from paying in full, and they were gracious enough to follow me to the local bank to withdraw the rest. And then I found out that I had forgotten my debit card because I swipe my credit card for everything nowadays. 2015 Prius would not start(Hybrid system trouble), I couldn't get it out of my driveway. I called Jacob and he came by... He diagnosed my vehicle and believed it was the "inverter", quoted me to replace it. The next morning I called Toyota, and luckily my car was under warranty for the Hybrid System. Believe it or not, Toyota was not able to figure it out, it took a lot of time and opinions. Eventually Toyota figured it out and it was the "inverter". Jacobs original diagnosis was correct. If I would have used Jacob to fix my car, he charges 80 dollars to drive to the site, and if you use him to fix your vehicle he will reimburse you 40. I was very impressed and if it was not under warranty I would have had him fix the issue. read more

Alright, here we go. I know it's sketch finding people online but, to be real, Jacob is a legitimate find! I have a 2001 Prius and my car has been a trooper for 4 years strong! I got my car from an auction for about $1,000 and didn't expect it to run so well for as long as it did! Anyway, my battery started giving out which led to a major loss of power and the rear battery fan/vent going off (which gave a loud sound I wasn't used to hearing). So we found him on Craigslist and he came out to us and took my car apart and fixed it! Only took about 2 hours too. Unfortunately, my car has some other cells that faulted so I had the same problem some back about a week later. I contacted Jacob again, per his warranty, so he can back and did another diagnostic and found that there was another cell that went bad (this sucks because if one cell goes below it's adaquate voltage, then everything is thrown off). Although Jacob does offer a warranty on his parts, this was a different cell. Jacob then worked out a deal to come back again and fix the problem. I really appreciated his good will and nature. He cured a major headache on my behalf and I would recommend him to anyone who has the same problem. This dude knows what he is doing, no joke. He was the cheapest option and I'm sure the best. WoW...well the reviews about Jacob we're not a lie! :-) This guy is such a breath of fresh air in a world where it seems like dishonesty is at the core of most everything these days. Eeeeesh Not this guy. He is an amazing young businessman with integrity, and a seemingly genuine concern for his clients. He will tell you exactly what it is you need, exactly the various options he can offer you, which he does back with a guarantee, and even offer extended warranty plans, at a super reasonable price as well. I have no doubt that he will include a price, and a fix that fits your budget. He does not try to sell you anything that you don't want or need. He is likely the most knowledgeable Prius person that I have ever talked to. He very clearly knows the model inside and out, and I was excited to hear that he will do more than just work on the battery for me when/if needed. Yay. He was considerate with our communication, and conscientious with my needs, and timeline. He had me fixed up in about an hour, at a charge of $340 which understandably included a very reasonable 40 dollar travel fee. He will even consider the option of you going to him in order to save that fee for travel time and gas, if need be.(please verify that with him, as perhaps it may depend on what kind of work you need to have done) But yes, this was an amazing experience. I thought it was going to be thousands, which honestly I could not afford. I had pretty much decided the end was near for this car. My Prius is an 06 with over 250,000 miles on it, and I was becoming concerned about keeping it. Now that I have met Jacob, I have complete faith that I have remaining reliable time left out of her yet! ;-) Stumbling across this young man on Yelp was definitely a much needed blessing. My 1st Gen Prius has been acting up. While driving it would lose power, and the RPM's would rev high. My online search suggested that it could be a bad hybrid battery. My aux battery was bad, so I replaced it yesterday, but didn't want to start driving it until I had a diagnostic done. I called Jacob, and he came out today. He hooked up his scanner and looked at each cell individually, and they all looked good. But we also, took the car for a decent drive while he monitored the battery and all looks good...must have been the aux battery all along. Words can not express how thankful i am for this man! I had a hybrid warning light come on with a loud rumbling noise coming from the engine. The dealer and another shop were telling me it was a misfire with the engine or i needed a new hybrid battery. They threw out the most outrageous numbers, so that's when i did some looking and found Jacob on yelp. He came to my house and checked out my car. First telling me there for certain wasn't a misfire with the engine and then telling me it's probably because i was out of gas. I am so grateful! I had called 2 other mechanics to come and try and diagnose what was wrong with my 2007 Prius. It died while I was driving it and could not get it to start again. The other mechanics were unsure and presented the worse and most expensive outcomes. I was about to tow it to the shop, which I had been avoiding. But I decided to get one more opinion. Glad he finally got a Yelp up so I could write a well deserved review -- My 2005 trusty Prius was well over 200k miles and had not yet had a main battery failure (foolish to not expect that, looking back now), until one day my dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. Back passenger side rear vent was blowing like crazy, car would hardly accelerate uphill, I could go max 45 mph safely and I was away from home. Enter Jacob / craigslist (lol) -- hoping/praying that he would actually be able to do something for me because I knew I sure as a hell wasn't going to replace my battery for a few thousand when my car wasn't worth much more than that. I called him and for a small gas fee he was able to drive out to me all the way in Lake Elsinore. He rebuilt the cells in my hybrid's battery -- something I didn't know was even possible -- and sent me on my way with a fully functional car again within 2 hours. I don't know much about cars, but I know how rare it is to find a guy that will even think about hybrid repairs, especially the battery (that isn't a scam artist). He was super nice and took the time to explain things to me as well, which is obviously a huge plus. The part that really matters: I had no idea if this rebuilding stuff was legit or if my dashboard would light up 20 minutes later as soon as I left, but to my surprise the battery repair lasted me over 6 months and I commute every single day. It might not be the answer for everyone but if you're like me and hesitant on replacing your battery outright at the dealer or some other expensive shop...call Jacob. I've got a newer prius now and I've already had him come out again to check it out for me because I know he's not out to gouge me with prices or make some crap up. That sunday jacob showed up on time, Assess using all his equipment to see whats the problem was,few minutes he told me that one of the battery cell need to be replaced. Very organized on removing all the bolts around hybrid battery panel and you can tell he is very knowledgeable to this kind of Hybrid problem,It takes only at least 1 hour and 30 mins to fix the problem in my car. My Multi Function Display (MFD) on my 08 Prius went out (just blanks). I called the dealer and they want at least $1300 for part and another $300 to replace it. Luckily I found the Hybrid Doctor! I purchased a refurbished MFD online for $500 and Jacob the Hybrid Doctor only charges me $60 to remove and replace it! He did it in 20 min as I watched! Overall, I saved $1000+!
