Just got our '06 Ford Escape Hybrid back. It needed a new hybrid battery, and the dealer wanted an outrageous amount to do it. My son got stuck on the road and called for a tow to bring it to a shop, He found Electron and had it towed to them. My son called me and I told him its the alternator because of the warning light on the dash. But Electron misdiagnosed the car, they said the battery failed and they changed the battery that is from Costco, which is still under warranty, got charged for $350 by Electron. But the real problem was the alternator. We already informed them before bringing the car, but insisted that its the battery. Now my son got stuck again on the freeway after a few days, because the battery they put in died again. Went back there and true enough, its the alternator. They charge us $1290. To replace the alternator. What a ripoff, they charged more than the dealer price and they used a remanufactured part. I went to the Nissan dealership after I picked up the car from Electron, and have them estimate the cost to replace the alternator, and gave me a quote of $790 for everything (parts and labor) which is reasonable. If I had a choice, I could have pulled my sons car from Electron and went to the dealer instead. What a ripoff, I will not go back to this shop ever again. The bad part is, all along I already mentioned the issue but completely ignored it and end up replacing a battery from Costco that is still under warranty, and charged us more than the dealer to replace an alternator. Several places recommend Electron Hybrid Solutions as the best with their cylindrical cells. I called the shop and spoke with Jose. He answered all of my many many questions. Their pricing was very good even for the improved cells. After asking what installation would cost would be, I felt that it was low enough that I didn't want to do it myself and risk messing something up. They were very accommodating with my schedule. Aside from replacing our hybrid battery, I also appreciated them providing a detailed diagnostic report and inspection of our vehicle and what maintenance and service we needed to get done in the near future. I checked out other hybrid battery shops prior to inquiring at Electron Automotive and the communication, service, and attention to detail just did not compare. Very disappointed. Was recommended to this place by a mutual friend for a replacement of Hybrid battery for a vehicle. Did the job for $1800 including a 1yr /15,000 mile warranty.Everything was ok till two months later check engine light came on for battery problem.Took vehicle back spoke to Chris the manager and told me I left the vehicle sitting too long and will not honor the warranty.Very shady business practices. Hello I'm very saddened to write this review in regards to my catalytic converter I replaced back in 2021. The converter was stolen again this summer. I paid for a new one to be installed and come to find out it was used. This time what was recovered from it reflected that it was in fact used. I certainly did not get billed for a used catalytic converter. For that reason alone I would not recommend this place for any work done. It's bad enough mechanics and shops have reputations of not being honest and I didn't expect this from Electron. For the past 3 years I must have spent close to 10k getting my 2008 Toyota Prius fixed at your shop banking that I was receiving new parts as indicated on the invoices. read more

I was referred to this business from my regular mechanic. I have an old Chevy hybrid. I took it in. They had my car for 4 days. The receptionist Christian was very good at keeping me up on what they found and how they were going to repair my vehicle. I was called to pick it up on a Thursday. I paid $653. I drove it straight home. Everything was good. On Saturday, I went about 10 miles. My car started acting like it was going to stall, every light I came to. I had to put it in neutral so it would not die. I was making a shrill noise and started to smell hot. I took it back in, and they found something else. Supposedly, they told me they did an inspection the first time I took it in. Why didn't they find out the problem the first time. This time, it cost me $844. Besides all this, when I get my car back, this time there is a big scratch on my right rear fender. Of course, they denied any responsibility. I'm so pissed!! I sure hope that spending almost $1600.00, I don't have any more issues . Beware of people that take advantage of a senior citizen and because I'm a woman. Shame on them!!! They really know their stuff here! I am very satisfied with the service I received from Tyler and Rogelio! They don't give you any bullshit here and you pay for quality work! I went in to replace just my ignition coil, but they recommended to also replace the spark plugs and wires. I considered forgoing those extras but they were right, it was time for new spark plugs and wires; my car's spark plug and wires were fucked up like hell LOL. The lobby/waiting room is excellent. They have an Xbox and a variety of games to play with. They also have complimentary drinks in a mini fridge for you while you wait. I noticed a Christmas Toy Drive when I came in today. $20 off your service if you bring in a present. It's really nice of them to be doing charity work like that! Check engine light came on, took it in, they tried to charge me $1000 to replace a control module sensor in the hybrid ev system. i said no and went on my way. What they failed to tell me is IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY and it would have been covered if i had taken it to the dealership. Now that my warranty has past, the dealership said Electron is full of it and there is no $1000 sensor to be replaced, its a simple software update. So not only did they fail me, and try to charge me, they lied. And obviously dont know anything about Chevy Volt's. FAIL! FAIL! FAIL! read more

I emailed them to get some feedback for if I needed to change my clutch actuator fluid on my 2018 Hyundai Ioniq Blue and they promptly set up an appointment for me to stop in on Saturday for a free inspection. I thought it was just going to be a quick inspection but they were thorough and even caught something that I would've never known otherwise. Their waiting room was nice and welcoming equipped with Netflix so you can pass the time watching your favorite show! Joe was my service advisor and he was super kind, providing exceptional service. When my car's inspection was done, he went over the report with me. My car's still fairly new/low mileage so he said I don't need to worry about the clutch actuator fluid until further down the line. They also found that my water pump was leaking coolant and needed replacing. He let me know to bring it in to the dealership and it would be covered by the manufacturer warranty because it was a defect on their end. I really appreciate that they were honest, and they didn't pressure me to have the water pump replaced with them knowing that the dealership would replace it for free. That speaks volumes to the kind of business they run and they've definitely earned my business in the future because I know I'll get an honest and fair assessment. read more

Had our vehicle serviced here, and without going into too many details about our repair (to avoid receiving poor service next time), it was incredibly disheartening that Joe (? - the technician with his arm in the sling) was not wearing masks or gloves while repeating touching his nose all throughout our interaction with him, and while he entered our vehicle to gather information from the OBD. About 2 weeks ago my Chevy Volt broke down, so I had it towed to a Chevy dealer who told me that I had a broken transmission. The cost of a transmission from them was more than my Volt is worth, so I started looking around for a new car to buy because I wasn't going to replace the transmission. Then I thought it would be good to get a 2nd opinion, so I towed the car to Electron Automotive. A few days later they called me and said not only is my transmission not broken, but it was actually in really good shape. The problem was that I had a broken CV joint, which is a much cheaper fix. In fact I ended up paying less than 10% of what the dealership quoted me for a new transmission. Since I saved a ton of money by not having to buy a new car, I decided to let Electron also do a few other maintenance things on my Volt. Both Christian and Jose were very nice and kept me updated on how the work was going. I picked up my car from then today and it's running perfectly. I couldn't be more happy with this place and I'll definitely be back if I have any other issues with my car. I'm very glad everyone at this shop is honest, unlike the Chevy dealer I went to. EDIT (review after over a year) : They've changed. It's hard to go back to a mechanic after they lose your trust. Once the seeds of doubt have been sown, there's no going back. Unfortunately, the seeds of doubt have taken root and I think it's time to part ways. 1st seed of doubt: Their prices are more exorbitant than the US housing market after the pandemic. I was quoted for $600 for spark plug replacements. I asked another local mechanic for a second opinion and he quoted me at $350. 2nd seed of doubt: for such a thorough oil change taking over 2 and a half hours, they forgot to top off my coolant. It was practically empty. Good thing I checked. Final seed of doubt: They ran a special diagnostic because they couldn't figure out the problem of my check engine light and charged me $250. After the diagnostic, they insisted that it was a solenoid problem and quoted me for $1800. I would have appreciated it if they went out with me and just showed me the error code so I could cross reference the error code. Now I don't even know what the error code was initially, and have to take them at their word, which is hard to do when you already have doubts. By the way, the price of the fix was worth more than the value of my 2003, 260,000+ mile car. A week later when the light came on again, I went to my old mechanic 30 miles away and he showed me the actual error code a minute after I told him the check engine light came on. P0456 was the code. I paid him a little less than 200 and I haven't seen the check engine light as of now (its been a month). I'm not saying they are bad at what they do, but it's hard to go back when you have doubts. read more

I cannot say enough great things about Electron Automotive!!! I was pretty nervous when my Nissan Leaf would not charge, because I'm relatively new to owning an all-electric and I've heard horror stories about mechanics not knowing how to deal with them or overcharging (price). Also, I know that a new electric battery is expensive. Imagine my delight when they called and told me the issue was relatively minor and my car would be ready within a few hours! Every step of this process, Joe and Tyler were professional, knowledgeable, and communicative. I received quick reply emails, when I called they answered immediately, and they sent text messages of the inspection process (to include pictures of my car and the instrument readings). It was nothing short of amazing. They also mentioned a few things that came up in the inspection, but gave me a time-frame on when those might become actual issues. For example, one item is very minor, but could become a larger issue in about a year with normal wear and tear. I really appreciate that they gave me this information, and didn't pressure me into service items I don't really need right now. I love my Leaf, and I'm so happy to have it back home. I hope nothing else goes wrong anytime soon, but if it does, I feel so much better knowing I can turn to Electron Automotive! read more

if you are owning a Prius and have a trouble, I will highly recommend Christian Y. and his team! They are all experts at least in handling Prius. They will detail what they prefer to do and try to fully explain that to you! In my case, they explain that the engine light should result from hose was connected incorrectly to the pump (how stupid is the previous auto repair!) instead of the coolant sensor! (previous repairman just told me it is that reason! And they refused to repair that and insisted that this should not be guaranteed) Last but not least, their charge fee is fair!!! The lobby was just nicely remodeled. Jose and one other worker offered me and the other customers (multiple times) if we needed any refreshments which was very kind of them. The guys over at Electron are the best. First the price of their quote was the lowest by half. I needed an oil change for my BMW and the owner assured me that full synthetic oil was going to be used and that a detailed inspection will be provided. They delivered on all promises and exceeded by providing an Uber back to my house. The other quotes I received were dubious at best. Just because it's a luxury car doesn't make it ok to charge exorbitant amount of money. Give them a try for your automotive needs. I've been an Electron Automotive customer for three years. I used to have my 2004 Prius serviced at a local Toyota dealership which was always very expensive and the service was marginal at best. Everyone I've dealt with at Electron has been very professional and they take the time to explain issues with my Prius and make some really helpful suggestions. Besides their excellent service, they have always been very reasonably priced in the repairs they've done on my aging, high-mileage hybrid! I especially appreciate their honestly and candor recommending that I should really get this or that repaired ASAP but I can hold off on other issues for the time being. When I used to take my car into a dealership for service, I always had the impression they were trying to talk me into getting as many repairs as possible regardless of how unnecessary they were. At Electron Automotive, I always ask for their advice and recommendations. And the most important thing I like about taking my car to them for service, is that I can trust what they tell me and I've never felt they are trying to sell me something I don't need. I came here twice, once for a check-up and a repair for my lower control arms. During each visit I showed my naivety. I know I gave Chris multiple opportunities to upsell me and he was honest each time. He would give me projected timelines that repairs would need to be made and was realistic with the needs instead of selling them to me. He was extremely knowledgeable and would explain the repairs to me rather than just saying this is what you need he would show me the issues and explained them to. This gave me a level of comfort that I did not find at other mechanics, where I am forced to blindly trust the need. At the time of my repair I was going on vacation and need some flexibility with drop-off and pick-up times of my car and Chris was more than willing to accommodate. The team here was fantastic, especially compared to the dealership. We normally pay about $40 for a standard oil change, but they recommended a synthetic oil change which was priced very well. Their office and waiting area is well kept and comfortable. Best part is, their team explained what needed to be done and didn't try to pad it with things that were unnecessary. I've gotten tired of Toyota service departments telling me something needs to be fixed, then I take it to another shop and they tell me that's not an issue or not as pressing. Lifesaver! I really wish I could give more than five stars. I have a 2007 Camry Hybrid and needed a 12V battery replacement this morning after my car failed to start (I have been have issues with it recently so I knew it was inevitable). After calling around and realizing that my battery was difficult to find and $400-$500 through the dealership, I was referred to Electron Automotive. At the time I called them, my car was on as it was just jumped by AAA and I was nervous to turn it off. They confirmed they had my battery and I asked if I could bring it by and they made it work for me. Their waiting room has coffee and comfy chairs and everyone was so nice. They were dealing with some technical difficulties while I was there but the staff has a wonderful attitude and everyone was personable and friendly. The battery and installation price was about half of what the dealer charges and they offered a complimentary inspection as well. They text a link with a full breakdown of the inspection along with photos for every item as well, and then go over it with you as well. I was incredibly impressed. About a mile up the road after I left, new warning lights came on my dash and my car was hesitating and not accelerating properly; I wasn't able to drive it much further so I called them to see if I had any options to have them help me get the car back. Tyler and Mauricio arrived super quickly and helped me get my car out of the center divider and back to the shop. Had some funny technical issues along the way back -- at that point there was nothing to do but laugh about our luck. They checked the car out again and found a dirty sensor that resolved the issue and sent me back on my way. Tyler and Mauricio worked with me and my car today and I cannot thank them both enough for their help. I went back to work and passed along their information to a couple of coworkers after recounting my morning to them, as well. Since they specialize in hybrids, I'm sure I'll be back.
