It started with a flooring and painting project through Tommie Drushe where I let him know that there were some issues with the floor in advance of them laying new flooring and he assured me they could get it repaired for 4K and it would be perfect. From the very beginning the flooring was never even and buckled in multiple areas right after installation. According to him it would settle. When his supervisor Eli looked at it he said it was all due to the issues I had pointed out to Tommie before we started and that we would need to do a much more expensive construction project to correct the issues. This might be fair and Tommie perhaps just an inexperienced estimator. However, Eli came in at nearly 40K for the project which seemed insanely high for the scope of what needed to be done. I said no way and found someone who did a great job fixing their mess and fixing the issue for less than a 1/4 of the price. It's now 5 months later and everything is holding up without any problems. The flooring was laid perfectly even with no buckling whatsoever from day 1 and has remained perfect after tenant move in. Elite and their associates will talk about their expertise and show you a bunch of projects that look great but at the end of the day they delivered substandard work and when it needed fixes came in at 4 times the price that anyone else quoted. This is the perfect example of why contractors have a bad rap. I can only imagine how upset I would be if I had listened to Eli and continued to work with them. I wouldn't trust them to do any job after my experience. I also never got a receipt for my first bit of work with Tommie after emailing and calling the office several times. Unprofessional con artists posing as contractors pretty much sums it up... I wish I had never found them in the first place. PS One last note... When I found them on yelp they had 5 stars (I'm guessing from fake reviews) because it seems the two most recent besides my own are also 1 star with one having the exact same experience of hiring another company to fix their mess.

The actual job was done from start to finish in a little over a week without big breaks or days off from our house (hate when contractors disappear for days). Permitting was all official and posted on our door for the duration. City approval was obtained quickly once the job was done. The team cleaned to everything and was very respectful of our home and outdoor space throughout. Our home has so many solar panels. We needed someone who could remove them safely and disconnect them and put them back up at the end of the job. Between 2020 and 2025, all seemed "tolerable" with my old Payne/Carrier AC + furnace. But last fall, it was clear my system had given up the ghost... and unbeknownst to me, the fabulous older gentleman who'd been coming here off and on for years, retired and moved out of state. I needed some new AC geniuses! Let the research and bidding/quoting madness begin! * FAMILY-OWNED BUSINESSES ARE BEST! I know everyone says "go local," and avoid things (giant franchises, etc.) that rhyme with "Bosco," for such an install (as well as gear sharing the first name of a famous 1990s-era heavyweight boxer w/the last name of Lewis). I'll let you imagine how that "almost" experience went... The FAMILY-OWNED business that is GREEN PLANET not only saved me heaps, but educated me about what would truly be needed, to go the "heat pump" route (my initial intention). Given that I have ancient, single-pane windows, and am in a tricky financial spot (I can't really upgrade my insulation to seal up the home to make a heat pump be 100% effective, let alone, replace windows), I ended up going with a rock solid, super efficient, side discharge AC condenser (due to vertical clearance limitations) and a new furnace (more details below).
