They offered services to me without telling me that it is not covered by my insurance and did not quote for me that it would cost extra. I have several thousand dollars' worth of what I believe to be unneeded services that I now have to pay for. I asked for a statement of the services they provided my family and the itemized statement I received is impossible to decipher without having a working knowledge of dental codes, so it's a whole lot of work for me to identify what I am being charged for. I think that Carus Dental's lack of transparency means something. In addition, I ask for a pre-certification for an additional crown that the practice was recommending. I asked, because on the first crown they did for me this year they told me that according to my insurance, I would pay $100. Not even close. They told me, again, that according to my insurance I would pay $100 for this new crown. I insisted I needed this pre-certified. They told me that pre-certifications take up to five weeks. So, I say okay, I can wait. Did they ever get the precertification for me? No. I believe that the tooth was not in need of a crown, at this time, and therefore insurance was not going to approve. OR, maybe, Carus Dental does not want to do business with someone they can no longer up-sale.

Most times patients are weary and have some sort of bad experience visiting a dentist I was put at ease and had one of the best dental hygienist I have ever seen. She was completely professional and caring. I loved her and the dentist . The front desk person and the young lady that did my initial x rays were amazing! I am sorry that I am bad at remembering names . I can tell you this experience has surpassed any Dentist experience I have had before . I would recommend this place to anyone .

They performed an "advanced X-ray" I never requested or consented to, and passed the unapproved charge directly to me after insurance denied it. Every other dentist covers annual checkup X-rays under standard preventive care without issue, but this office deliberately tack on hidden fees. When I called them out on lying to my face twice about coverage, they simply refused to own up to their mistake and demanded payment anyway. On top of their shady billing tactics, their rates for basic dental procedures are vastly inflated compared to every other practice in the area.

Thankfully, Theresa, the doctor, and David at the front desk were absolutely incredible! Despite having a booked schedule, they got me in, took care of me, and had me back out the door in no time. So they did talked me through the procedure and also talked me into pulling a wisdom tooth which I've had for over 60 yrs and it didn't bother me but I was informed it would be better in the long run and since they were pulling the hurt tooth on the same side why not do both. I agreed. The doctor sounded like he cared. So when I came in for my follow up he said everything looked good but the tooth that is next to the wisdom tooth that was pulled is now soft and wiggles. UGH! The tooth I initially came in for was to be treated six months afterwards for full recovery of the bone implant. I. called to ask a question and was told the doctor that treated me no longer works there. I felt used. Right now I have a hole where there should be a tooth I have not had a call to see if everything is good. I will not be returning to this establishment. He was easy to work with and really listens to his patients concerns. I did Invisalign treatment here as well. Pilar was the head ortho rep when i started my Invisalign. Pilar was excellent and very upbeat , always a pleasure to see while i was there. While Invisalign took a lot longer then expected to finish treatment I'm pretty satisfied with the overall out come. The rest of the office staff is very friendly and welcoming and the treatment coordinator Lauren is very knowledgeable and was able to address all of my concerns in the best way possible. Unfortunately, they find a way to charge you for it. We received an estimate for our cleanings (which they wouldn't just do on our first appointment) and other work which came out to be significantly more than other places I've gone. Even in-network, their charges came to $200-$300 more for a crown than I've paid in the past AFTER what insurance covers. Plus, they want to up-charge you for other things, like a "laser package" deep cleaning. Shouldn't this just be included in your cleaning if it's something they highly recommend for most patients? If money isn't an issue for you then this place might be fine but for our young family every dollar matters and this place just isn't for us.
