I came in around 11am today to have my vehicle inspected, I swear to god I wish I got his name but there was this older Hispanic guy who was checking me in, I was trying to explain what I needed done "just check for tire squeaks" saying I got parts online from Hyundai, and he proceeded to respond with "let me get this straight you have break pads but you want us to inspect this issue for free, I don't understand you're being stupid" I literally almost hit this old ass in the face. How do you work a customer service job and call someone stupid. I just wanted to see if anything else was wrong with the car, he proceeded to give me to another guy at the shop because he just wanted to get rid of me, so I was texting my girlfriend about what happened and I was ready to blow my gasket, I have health problems from the military and I just could n o t with this service! I told your manager who then got me the service manager, Jim? Or John or something. Was very polite and made me feel better but good fuck, I will never come back to this location. read more

Worst car dealership ever. We called ahead and spoke with the car salesman Igor. He sent us the carfax and inspection records of the car which was was listed online for 15,995. He said that the brakes and tires where new since they failed the initial inspection. We drove 3hrs to meet with IGOR we arrived and test drove the car everything seemed ok....we got out and noticed that the tires on the car had cracked rubber, close to no thread and freshly polished. We asked Igor about the tires since they didn't match what the service records stated. The service records were obviously fabricated. We even noticed that different mileage where on sooner if the pages. After he realized he was caught he called the manager over. The manager stated even though the tires failed the inspection they should still be ok for awhile. I asked if he would let his daughter drive that car. He couldn't answer and walked away saying let me see what i can do. Igor returned and said they could service the vehicle at the location and brought back paper work for 16,381 which included new tires and a new price of the car. When I asked him to explain the new price if the car he stated the price had increased before we arrived since there was a shift in supply in demand! We had printed out the price it was when talked to him on the phone before we got there and he said they would not honor it. We left. 1. My experience with finance department at Elgin Hyundai is an unprofessional and unpleasant one. First thing I was asked to pay down payment even without informing me of the APR for the loan, when I asked about this the sales person - Lou said you will know the APR rate in the finance office but asked me to pay my down payment. Its not a good business practice to have the customers ask to pay down payment without letting them know the actual APR and how much their monthly payments would be. 2. Finance department person - Ed Howell has sneaked in a line item charge of anti theft deterrent without my knowledge or even discussing in the final bill of sale. I called them up on Monday and clarified that I was not informed of this charge and be removed from the final price. However after speaking with Dennis they agreed to adjust that said amount to the bank. Finally they have returned the amount after going through a tough time of chasing them and talking with various people at the dealership & bank , however till to date they haven't returned my paid taxes on this amount :-( My advise to future buyers from Elgin Hyundai - Be very cautious when you do a purchase transaction, especially when you enter the finance office, always be ready to walk out if something is not right! read more

Need to make sure you know about the Hyundai Shopper Assurance program. You can exchange your car within 3 days awesome. I did not know about wound up there day 4, whoops. Might as well have been talking to the wall. The price had dropped 1500 dollars over weekend, and I had some small issues with the car and wanted to get SEL model. They did offer to take my car back at a 2000$ loss for a trade in, My bad for not knowing about 3 day exchange, their bad for not letting me know. Worse SALES REPS! They waste your time and are very unprofessional. During quarantine I decided to shop around for a new car, tried to do all the process online to save myself some time. I got correspondance back by one of their reps saying that I was approved and was ready to complete purchase process. They agreed to pay for my Uber ride from the city, which was about almost $90.00 dollars. After traveling 45 minutes to the dealer they came up with the conclusion that somehow I wasn't approved. James Urso agreed to cut me a check for my transportation expense (which they agreed to pay) This was arranged January 5th. After several email he just ghosted me, shady team and crappy car inventory. Anyway, I went to Mercedes Benz in Chicago and got approved right away, no hassle nor drama. Went with my son 06/29/2019 who was excited to buy his first car. First told that the car that we had just called to confirm was available, was not available, which is typical of a dealer. He still finds a brand new 2019, we were quoted the price, options, APR loan %, savings, etc in writing. Get to finance and notice they added $699.99 as "theft deterrent" I point out that we never agreed to that, finance guy acts shocked, shuffles through his papers, apologizes and removes it. Redoes the paperwork, I sign and notice that now he changed the 4.9 % to 6.9%. He says "that's what happens when you remove an option" No, that is what happens when you are committing fraud!! This was the worst experience I've had at a car dealership, and I think that says a lot. I had been to a couple other dealerships already and was comparing my options, I'm a broke college student so I'm always looking for the best price but also wanting to make sure I'm driving something reliable. So I test drive a car here and go in to talk numbers. They gave me an offer but I said it was higher than I was wanting to pay. They lowered it and I said that I appreciate it but I just want to compare my options and explained my situation. The salesman that I had was fine, but then the manager came to talk to me and he was just terrible. He kept trying to get me to promise that I would buy the car if he could do a certain price, and I explained over and over that I feel much more comfortable looking around some more just to compare my options. He went again to see how low they could get the price down and came back and tried to shake my hand, but I said I wasn't buying the car yet, then he proceeded to get mad at me and say that I had promised I'd buy the car and that we had made a deal, which we NEVER did. He continued to pester me with more questions on why I wouldn't buy it now and where else I was going and just overall made me feel extremely frustrated and like crap. I left and did not come back. Interesting that another review on here mentions Jim (finance guy) and Mike (sales guy). My wife and I were in the market for a used car since I was in an auto accident. Finding a Sonata online we set an appointment. Upon arrival we met Mike and he got the car, we drove and it decided to purchase. This is where normal gets just plain stupid. Mike went to Jim and got their numbers. (I should note that their internet price of the car is over priced based on TrueCar and Edmonds. Plus we did comparison pricing on AutoTrader.) Mike comes back with full price of the car, over $5000 down and a monthly payment over $450 a month. INSANE. But, we were interested in the car so, of course, we counter with the pricing we compared online; about $1500 less. I tell Mike if that's the price of the car we have a deal no matter the rest. (We had plenty of cash due to the accident.) He takes it to Jim. Jim comes over like a lunatic. He brings over the dealer pricing list to show how great his price is, demanding to know where I got my price from. I responded sticker price is not a final in the world of car buying. Showing me a list of dealer prices does not equal what people actually pay for that car. I told him the website and then he accused me of not putting all the features ... *eyeroll* So Jim goes to the website I told him (Edmonds) and comes back and said my number was legit but they weren't selling the car at that price. Not even a penny difference would he move on the car. Saying that their website price was the rock bottom price. Needless to say, we didn't buy a car there. After we go home I figured the financing. Jim was trying to sell that car at 26% interest . BUYER BEWARE!!! Mike was a nice guy but their financing and floor managers are as shady as they come. I flew in from Detroit Michigan and purchased a vehicle from this dealership December 11, 2020. I purchased the vehicle with a cashiers check. The check was more than what the vehicle was for so basically they owed me money. I was told that the balance would be forwarded to me within a couple of weeks. Here it is almost the end of January and still no check. I spoke with someone in finance last week with a very nasty attitude who looked into and said there was nothing in the system and I would have to speak with corporate or the person who did my paperwork . He claims that person was on vacation. When I asked for corporate number he said he was corporate and that they weren't trying to steal my money. I have texted and tried to call the young lady who closed on my deal but she has yet to respond or call me back. They didn't hesitate to cash the overpaid check, but continue to give me the run around about the balance. My next step is court. read more

Igor was salesman I dealt with when trading in/purchasing new vehicle. I found him to be direct and professional. He was very engaged and, although the dealership was quite busy that day, he made me feel like a priority. The only hiccup in the experience was the high number and cost of 'junk' fees presented by the F&I guy. Let me first start out that I love my car and a year ago when I leased it I was very happy with the service. I am a widow and this was my first car purchase since my husbands death. Doing this alone for the first time was a bit stressful but was very satisfied with the entire process. Brian my salesman was very helpful. One of the items I wanted in the car was a remote start. He shared with me that I could have one installed or purchase the blue link remote start that I could use with an app. Being that I was leasing the car it was more cost effective to just get the remote start through blue link based on the prices I was given at that time by Brian. I had a free trial period for all the functions of blue link but would have to call after this free trial to decide what I wanted for the remainder of the year. So I called blue link and decided that all I wanted was the remote start function. The person who I spoke with verified the same information that Brian had shared with me, that it would be $99 a year if I purchased all at once or $9.99 a month if I made monthly payments. I chose to pay it all at once and that the following year it would automatically charge my account again. Seemed simple enough but what neither person shared was that in order to continue with the remote start I would now need to pay for connected care because I only had that free for one year which would be an additional $99 a year; $198 just to have a remote start. Very disappointed in this and neither blue link or elgin Hyundai said they could do anything. Even though they now offer three years of connect care free on their vehicles. If I had known this it would have been cheaper to have a remote starter installed myself. Please make sure you ask the questions and verify and have them put it in writing (because of course Brian just pulled it up on his computer). Needless to say I told Hyundai that I would no longer do any business with them in the future nor will I refer anyone to them, which I have. Three friends of mine have gone there and purchased cars. I was thinking of purchasing this car after my lease......now I am not so sure. I really wished that they could have satisfied a good customer! We purchased a used car from Elgin Hyundai to find out there is a dent that needs to be fixed but now I have a bulge in one of my tires and the tires do not look like they only have 14000 miles in it. We called the dealership and have been there during a week for a call back. They are eager to take your money but you point out s problem they tell you that they really can't do anything since they did not make any money on the deal. Fraudulent Business Practices!!! Not to mention the Add Ons which Ed Howell told me " He just writes them up,(does not explain them) what happens on the sales floor he cannot control". Which brings me back to the Floor Sales Mangers. Ed Howell did say all he talked about was about the Extended Warranty. But he then adds this to the contract AIP for $999.00, Theft Deterrent for $ 899.00, Pro Package for $681 & accessories sale of ID $500. Which if you read the other reviews Prices Differ. Why? Just left Elgin Hyundiai, stay away from this dishonest dealership, spoke with sales manager yesterday(06/29/18) about two 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokees on their website. Was told both vehicles where still in stock, we made an appointment for me to see both cars on todays date(06/30/18) at 10am. Sales manager called me at 9am to make sure I was still coming and I told her I was enroute. (1 hour 15 minute drive) and was told both vehicles where still available and she emailed me the carfax to you of the vehicles. When I arrived at dealership I was told one car was sold yesterday and the other car about an hour before I arrived, but they would be happy to show me another Jeep they have in stock costing $4000.00 more. Dealership opened at 9am so one car was sold and out the door before I arrived at 10am, don't think so! Classic bait and switch. I wasted two and an half hours driving out to Elgin for nothing. Elgin Hyundai scammed me out of $700 by sneaking in a fraudulent "Theft Detterant" [sic] charge into my bill - this has been well documented online as a scam. I was never asked about or sold this service, which raised the price of the car $700 OVER the agreed upon price, even though it was apparently installed PRIOR to agreeing on said price. This seems immoral if not illegal, and now I am being forced to involve my lawyer as no one will return my multiple calls/emails. Only after a month of calls & emails did "Ed" in finance finally respond to me -- he laughed, told me "someone" should have told me about this extra service/cost, then said there was nothing I could do about it, and could not return the vehicle. Please do yourself a favor and AVOID Elgin Hyundai at all costs. You'd be better off buying a car from a stranger on Craigslist. read more

Horrible experience this Saturday. When we first arrived, we were not greeted and stood around waiting for assistance. After we checked out the few cars in the sales room, we still were not approached. My husband started to walk towards an office to find a person when finally someone asked him if we'd been helped. We told the salesperson we were there for a used car for my daughter and showed him the car we already saw online. He guided us to his desk and seemed to be looking up the car on their system. He said 'that car was already sold.' My husband asked when and the salesperson said he didn't know. No apology, no "oh my goodness, that was a good pick because it's already been snatched up" or offer to find us another car. Just "It's gone." My husband asked if there were other similar cars available. The salesperson said 'yeah wait I'll go get it' and he left. We waited 10-15 minutes. We started to discuss if we should leave. We looked around and saw other customers waiting around also, looking lost. Just as we were about to leave, salesperson shows up and says 'it's out there' and barely makes a effort to point to the parking lot. He does not accompany us to the lot, he did not ask us anything about what we were looking for or show any interest in making us a customer. When we get to the car, it is nothing at all like the one we came to see. So we started to leave. Just then the salesperson comes out and says 'hey you leaving?' We said yes, that's not at all like the car we were interested in." And the salesperson YELLS at us!! He literally yelled from the doorway across the lot to us as we are walking towards our car "I went and got the damn car for you and you're just going to leave?!" We couldn't leave fast enough. And we will never be back. I couldn't believe the disinterest from the moment we arrived and lack of service, communication and professionalism was shocking. Not sure how they've stayed in business! Test drove the car and were impressed although we told him we had other cars to look at same day. Customer service was good as we felt welcome with no pressure. negotiated an out the door price of $18,300 for a 2021 Accent SEL, over the phone, was told it was today only offer and to come in it would be ready, Msrp is $17,750 there is a $750 rebate, = $17,000 (Actual MSRP after $750 rebate), now a normal person would pay the Msrp + taxes for me 7% then around $350 added for title and new license plates, then you are looking at about another $1200 added if you have good credit and put down around 50% during financing. total = ($19,740) TOTAL, (if you pay off using the whole the remaining time of the loan which in this case is 59 months), after making the first down payment). So we go in deal with Dan Conley, why we needed to see a dealer i have no idea i already negotiated the price and made it clear my price was out the door price, no (license plate&title $350 fee) no (tax $1190 fee) so basically after waiting 45 min, test driving, dan tells my mom about a protective spray coat to stop salt from rusting car, and i hear him say it is 3 but we will give you 50% off 15 i'm thinking dollars LOL no ($1,500) came to find that out during financing, after waiting 30 min to meet with that loser in the first place b/c he was preparing fake documents on his computer program, will speak on that in one min, first why was this 1500 for spray coat a shock, the car is brand new, the price, and the fact the warranty (Americas greatest warranty) (comes included with rust protection on new cars.) and really this coat is bs offer at any cost, ok it gets sprayed dries, now you are telling me road salt now will magically never stick to this car ever again? LOL, if i spray myself with (off insect repellent) one time you are saying if i camp in the woods for 2 weeks and only apply once no mosquitos or insects will bite me ever again for the next two weeks from one initial application? LOL, next every one know you have to wash car regularly during winter and thats enough, maybe get waxed 1 time a year, I worked as a auto detail-er as a teen, and also had a stint as a painter. Ok back to Ed Howell, Finance Manager, we get into his office after 30 min, to finalize everything, taking him forever to print documents figure numbers etc... he then tries to go over packages with extended warranties, and was trying to get the signing on the $1,500 spray coat, i'm thinking that made the out the door price now $18,315 up $15 from what was negotiated, ok so i'm reviewing numbers and I refuse to sign his sheet which i don't know if he was trying to imply was part of extended warranties it says vehicle service contract does not list spray coating as included, but lists other things, but amazingly on this sheet no price of $1,500 is listed anywhere for any package, and at bottom says prepared by ed howell with the date, so obviously he created this sheet himself through a computer program it is not a standard HYUNDAI packages form, and he has customize his own prices on it, and i asked him why is this even needed with the great new car warranty that comes with the car? which he only knows or wants to tell me includes 10 years power train, 5 years of something else, then im like what else he says I would have to look that up myself, ok that would be known by me already 7 years rust protection and 3 years general maintenance, so the spray crap is not even needed. So i say we are not signing and take the sheet, he immediately asks for the sheet back says he needs it, I tell him no, why do you need it print another or you should have plenty more if it is a standard customer used document " oh i will print you a copy" he made this document it was fraudulent and he got caught. I tell him take the spray coat off, i then write down 4 simple numbers $18,300 negotiated price out the door - $8,200 putting down, leaving $10,100 to finance, not hard math i'm college educated maybe they did not know that???? anyway ED MR Finance Manager acted like he could not understand or follow that math or what I was saying LOL 3 damn numbers. so i leave before i hurt him or somebody to cool down, my mom stays in there, i come back 5 min later we are working with a new Finance Manager now she is a woman, she fixes everything in 3 min correct numbers my mom signs, I leave tell her i will meet her at home, then was told by her when she was leaving alone they tried to get her to pay for the spray coat again now at $1250, LOL she did not, during this process we were told sob stories, offered free drink and food repeatedly, my mom issued like 4 dif checks for dif amounts on behalf of the original salesman and the original finance manager, bc they were not smart enough even when trying add in numbers to make the price inflate could do it, accuratley. this place is a joke will never go back, service car here, etc.. moral of story will have paid $18,350 total for car after intrest. car and driver says most getting for around $18,600 unsure pre tax title license fee, or out the door. read more

I've been bringing my 2012 Hyundai Elantra to another dealership over the past 4 years out of sheer convenience and location for me. After going to the previous dealership yesterday and and being treated rudely, I walked out and decided to go to Elgin Hyundai. My mom has been bringing her Hyundai Santa Fe here for 14 years and has always had a good experience with them. The service I received by Jorge was far beyond that I ever received at the previous dealership. He took the time to listen to the concerns I had with my car and after the oil change and tests were completed on my car he took the time to explain what was going on. He even did not charge me for the $60 it cost for the tests to be completed, only charging me for the oil change. Although, Elgin Hyundai is a little farther out of my way, I will continue to bring my car to this dealership. read more

Of course the sales person or the sales manager who was in charge when I made my purchase in October is no longer there. Only one sales person by the name of David was able to help me. He informed me that I was not made aware of the additional charges and the actual price of the car and that his hands are tied. I've left several phone call messages voicemails and had a brief conversation with the manager but have yet to receive a resolution let alone a call back. son drove 320 mi from mpls to buy gray ioniq hybrid sel. he made calls during the week to confirm what he needed to bring (insurance, title, payment). got the vin #. asked if there was anything else he could do to ensure a smooth transaction. elgin said he was fine. he called fri, the day before he left to confirm his intentions & that the car was still there. elgin said the car was there. called when he got on the road sat AM to confirm he was driving out & that the car was there. elgin said everything was fine. when he arrived around 1pm the manager had sold it that AM. elgin mumbled excuse that mpls couple MAY come. then asked my son why he didnt put a down payment (never mentioned when called & asked what else he could do to make the transaction go smoothly). they offered him a used 4000 mi car with a $200 discount. felt like a bait & switch. the car was filthy w/ food & garbage (they did clean it). they had to wait over 3hrs to process their paperwork even though no loan. it took over 10 days to receive the title. elgin's weak excuse was the check needed to clear. cashier's checks take 24 hours to clear. elgin doesnt accept personal checks and they take 48 hrs to clear elgin was disrespectful in the treatment of my son. elgin basically lied that the car would be there & then tried to pass blame on him and took no responsibility for this fiasco. i would be willing to change this post if the dealer made amends for this read more

They worked diligently to get me into the 2018 Santa Fe Sport that I wanted and treated me as a valued customer from start to finish. Katie and the receptionist Savannah--Kind, prompt and with just a few interactions left a great impression on Elgin Hyundai's customer service. The manager Jim Urso on the other hand was incredibly offensive. I explained to Mr. Urso that I didn't want to give my number out because I get far too many calls from car sales reps. He seemed a bit perplexed and even annoyed by my explaining that, but we continued to discuss the car I was looking at online. I offered too low of a price, like 3,000 too low on limited 2015 Hyundai. I can see how that may have been frustrating on Mr. Urso's end, but I shared my budget and Katie said to give her manager a call. I misinterpreted Katie's message and thought it might be something Mr. Urso could work with. Instead of offering something in my price range he said, "wow, what a whacko" and hung up on me. I attempted to call him back and Mr. Urso didn't answer. That level of disrespect and the lack of professionalism was completely unwarranted. I am waiting for their manager Mike to return my call to discuss this further--currently my review is 1 star, if you have that type of manager heading the place that speaks volumes. read more

OMG! What a bunch of scam artists! They will tell you any lie just to get you in the door to try to make a sale! I talked to sales people over the phone and via e-mail multiple times on the price of a car I wanted to buy MAKE SURE there were no hidden, extra fees, or that they weren't including any discounts that i wouldn't be eligible for, etc. I was ASSURED that there was nothing hidden, the price I was given was the price I would pay. I also asked if the car was a demo or something and was told, "NO, it's not a demo. It's brand new". So, I drive 35 minutes over there and find out they lied to me on BOTH counts! A total waste of my time! The car had 6,500 miles on it, and apparently this dealer likes to add special "Addendum" costs to every car. Mine was going to be almost $1,000! For What????? He then tried to tell me EVERY dealer adds these so-called Addendums. No, they don't. I buy cars every couple of years--never heard of that. It was supposedly for oil changes, winter car mats and pin-striping. WOW! He REFUSED to take it off, but would knock it down to $699 just for ME! I walked out. By far the best vehicle shopping experience I have had. My sales person Mitch went above and beyond. He made sure to explain everything to me and to make sure I understood. I let Mitch know that my favorite color was RED, he did everything he could do to make sure I had a RED car. When I saw Mitch pull up a RED Elantra all I could think was "this is for me?". It was a RED Elantra(2018)...Mitch stated this would be an excellent car for me and my family. I really didn't know if I would be able to afford it. Mitch then took my inquiry to Mike M., Mike did everything he could do to make sure that the RED Elantra would go home with me. Mike M. went above and beyond. Mike did not just want to sell a car, but he wanted to make sure I was happy too. I really feel that Elgin Hyundai cares for their customers. I also was greeted by Jenni-customer relations who came out to make sure everything was going well. I felt right at home. This nightmare started about two months ago. For the first time in my life, I was ready to put a little more than the basics into my new car purchase. I drove a Sonata for 5 years, and was happy with it and wanted to stick with Hyundai. I had a 2016 Tuscon picked out and was ready to buy from a different dealer, when Elgin called me insisting they had the exact car I wanted for less than the location I was going to buy from. I explained that I lived 40 minutes away and I did not have time to waste. They insisted. Sure enough, I get there and it was a good old bait and switch. They did not have anything close to what I was looking for. The dealer, Matt, was great though and helped me find a Tuscon that worked for me. He was kind and not shady. I left happy. All was great, and I even took my brother to Matt to buy his Elantra. This experience was good and I was told I would get a $100 referral check in the mail. Well it has been two months and I have not received that yet. After a few weeks of having the Tuscon, I noticed that the transmission was jumpy. The pressure I was pressing the gas pedal was not matching what the car was doing. It was weird, but the car was still working overall. I was going to take it in when I had time, but am a very busy person. A few days later, I was driving and at a stop sign. When I went to go, I could not. I was pressing the gas and nothing was happening. I was able to reverse, so I backed into a parking lot. It was a Sunday night, so I called Hyundai Roadside Assistance. They assured me someone would be there in an hour, well it took 3.5 hours for a tow. They towed it to a different Hyundai dealership, since it was close than Elgin. They did a software update and said everything was fine. I picked the car up and it was not okay and I was almost rear-ended as I turned onto a busy road and could not get the car to accelerate. I called Matt, the salesman, and told him I was on my way to Elgin because something was wrong with the car. I got there and they gave me a loaner and promised they would figure it out. I was very upset because I drive my nephews around and this car was clearly an unsafe lemon. They gave me a loaner car and kept the Tuscon for three days. They said that the GM, Service Manager and Salesman all drove it a lot and had no issues. Basically, they were calling me a liar. I went in and demanded that they drive with me. Sure enough, Matt gets in and before we even leave the parking lot the car jumps just like it did before. We then drove and I explained how hard I was pressing on the gas and how it was not going. He then told the Service Manager what happened when he was in the car and the Service Manager got in. We went for a drive, and it was doing similar things. He insisted that I was just not used to a turbo engine and his solution was for me to drive a different car with the same engine to see that it was normal. As we got back into the lot, my Tuscon stunk the same way it did when I stalled out. He said it was because it was under 1500 miles and that is normal. Well, the car was at 1650 miles and this was not a little smoke smell that is normal. I was basically told there was nothing more they could do but buy the car back at a loss for me. At this point I lost about $1500 for a car I had for a month. I decided to go up to the Santa Fe, which I have been happy with. I was promised 2.99 financing, even though I had 2.79 before. I went ahead because it was already 8pm and I just wanted to get out of the situation. Well here comes finance. He tried to sneak in a $699 Anti-Theft plan that he was told not to charge me. Then all of the sudden the rate is 3.09 for finance. Well I asked him to change it and he said he couldn't. I was done at this point and the shop was closed. I left and called Hyundai Finance the next day to see what they could do. Well, they told me to call Ed, the finance guy back. I did and he told me to call them. It is only fair that I would have the same APR that I had a month ago when I bought the lemon. I called him back and he started yelling at me and told me "You are rude and I am not going to put up with you not trusting me" and "This is the last time I am going to say it, you are believing a clerk ahead of me and you will not call me again about this issue". I explained that I talked with a manager at Hyundai Financial and that they all explained the same thing, that the deal is with the finance department of Elgin and I had to talk with him. He continued to yell at me and insult me, so I hung up. After dealing with all of this, I will never buy a Hyundai again. From this dealer to their corporation, I am disgusted. There is a level of professionalism missing in Elgin for sure. While I was waiting or finance I saw a manager and employee get in a screaming match together. The employee yelled in his managers face and stormed out of the building. Basically what I would like to do at this point, and if I were you I would stay away! read more

David gave me incorrect information on warranty for pre certified cars stating that pre certified doesn't come with any warranty and I have to buy a warranty of more than $1700. When I talked to the manager on the phone later on, he told me that I get remaining warranty of 5 year original. The staff needs better training. read more

I bought a used car from Elgin Hyundai only to realize this is the worst decision I have ever made. They told me I would receive the Title in the mail within 10 days as it is their company policy to wait until funds clear the bank. Fine. I'm ok with that. I call back 14 days later and was given an apology saying I would receive it on 8/4/2015, UPS. Fine, I'm still ok. I call on 8/7/15 and was berated on the phone told I will not be getting a title and the papers they gave me are "all I need." Well, to make a long story short, I have already taken their "ALL I NEED" papers to the DMV and was told no, cannot register my car. Today I am completing a complaint with the Illinois Department of Consumer Protection. The person there seems all to familiar with this dealer...... read more
