Elim Korean BBQ was delicious! Ordered the fish jun & mandoo plate, with 4 sides, japchae x2, kimchee pancake and choi sum. All flavored and seasoned really well. Hands down, this is the best place to get a Korean BBQ plate! My boyfriend and I can never finish a regular plate, and when I do order a mini I can't finish it either. The owner that's always there is super nice too! When I was short a penny I was going to break a dollar but instead he said it was okay. Yeah a penny isn't much but whatever he's nice. Lol. I have to disagree this Korean bbq place is medicore if at all good. The owner once swore at my Mom because she didn't have cash and wanted to pay in check but he didn't want it so she walked out and he swore at my Mom he said the "F" word which is unacceptable. I just came from this place and I must say that this is te worst place to eat Korean bbq! The meat jun was chewy and the egg was overcooked...the bbq chicken was chewy...and it does not end there! Everything was high quality and fresh. Very very good short ribs and spicy chicken. You also get 4 sides with a meal which is very cool. Will def be eating at again. read more

I've been eating Elim's BBQ for years now. I love their meat Jun. The portions for their sides are not as much as how some other korean restaurants give but the food is still delicious. I miss seeing Mr Kim but the ladies who are there now are nice. read more

There must be a new owner - what happened to the old Korean man who talked story with his customers while waiting for the food to be ready? We used to drive there from Kapolei because the food was tasty and the portions were generous. I ate there about a month ago and found the food not as tasty and definitely more expensive than other korean food places. when I was there waiting for my food, I personally witnessed several customers look at the menu board and walk out. One did not know it was "cash only" - so cancelled his order and said he would be back after getting cash at an ATM - he never returned. The "cash only" sign at the register was a "turn off." I see this as an attempt by the restaurant owner to avoid printing register receipts and as a "tax avoidance" measure. Sorry, but that's how I see it - and I won't be back. read more

Elims has that mom and pops restaurant feel to it compared to the other Korean fast food franchises on the island. Located in the heart of Ewa EWA beach, I've heard this place had good Korean food. I ordered the meat jun which was great. The prices for a mini is also affordable and they gave free katsu sauce to my friend when he asked for it for his chicken katsu. The place could be a little cleaner but service was great and our food came out quick. read more

Honestly most of the take out Korean places I have tried around the island suck. This place is much better. It is also the only Korean place to eat in Ewa Beach. The one thing I like here is the tofu soup. It has to be spicy. Their spicy is not really hot. It a large serving soup that comes with vegetables and shredded pork. So it's great when your sick. It's the only thing I want and crave here. The other stuff are ok. The counter girls and the owner always top off the plates with a lot of side vegetables when you take out. This is the worst Korean Barbecue restaurant I have ever been to, I do not recommend. Walking in I was not given a "welcome" or "hello" the lady, I am assuming is the owner was on her phone. The floors are disgustingly dirty, it looks like it has never been mopped in weeks. Behind the counter the cabinets were shut with duct tape. After I had gotten my food it looked appetizing, but I was wrong. Keep in mind I got a mini Kalbi plate. The rice underneath was dry. The Mac salad didn't even taste like Mac salad. The macaroni was overcooked and mushy which threw me off right away. The long rice noodle smelled normal, but as soon as it went in my mouth *SOUR* IT WAS SPOILED. The only good thing that was on the plate was the Kalbi. This place needs to take notes from Yummy's and Pearls. Don't waste your money here. read more

One of the best korean joints on the westside. The chicken katsu plate is a must try for first timers. Choose from different korean style side orders, kim chee, shoyu potato,bean sprouts, long rice etc. The regular plate portions are huge. I usually call in a phone order so i don't have to wait . Elims is like pretty much like all the other takeout/ eat in Korean spots on the island its the only one onEwa Beach side. Food isnt bad I always get the meat jun or BBQ beef plate and the mandoo, I always have to ask to put more vegetable side's cause sometimes they try to jip you on it. Not bad food all in all. Spicy pork is the bomb. Spiced perfectly and thin cut meats. Try the spinach mix it's so awesome.

Decided to give this place another try, because it's either a hit or miss with this place. There was an older gentleman working at the counter & although I was waiting at the register for several minutes, didn't even bother to acknowledge I was even there. Usually, he seems okay but today I got the vibe that he just didn't want to be there. Then he looked at me and all I got was "Yes??" It was very apparent to me that he wasn't having such a great day or just not in a good mood, so after placing my order, I had to choose my sides/vegetables, I noticed many of the trays were almost empty & what was left in the trays looked liked it had been sitting there all day. Since my options were VERY limited, I asked for some taegu which I know for some reason, they keep hidden below the counter. He quickly snapped backed "No Taegu!" Okay.... I knew it would take several minutes so I ran to the pet store to look around. When I returned to the restaurant to pick up my food, the counter helper/cashier was sitting behind the cash register. He didn't bother to ever get up & just pointed to a bag sitting on the opposite end of the counter. When I got home, the meat jun was really cold on the inside & burnt/hard yet warm on the outside. I get the feeling that this was pre-made earlier in the day or even the day before, refrigerated & reheated on their flat top. How else would you get food to that consistency? This is the second time this has happened when i ordered their meat jun. Sad part is that I tried to give some of it to my dogs & they just sniffed it & walked away. So in the trash it went. One thing is for sure, I will NEVER go back there!!!!! At this point, I'm willing to drive over to Waipahu or Waikele when I'm craving for some Korean food. read more

There is definitely nothing special about Elim's. However, it is the only Korean BBQ place in Ewa Beach. If you don't want to drive to Waipahu or Kapolei, this is what you settle for. I either order their meat jun or mandu plate. Their mandu is probably my "favorite" thing to order here. I've had better meat jun at other places. We have not encountered rude customer service as other yelpers have mentioned, thankfully. This place is just okay, and satisfies my Korean BBQ cravings when I don't want to drive too far. read more

Haven't been out this side for quite a while. Initially we were going to eat at another diner then made a switch in plans. It wasn't the peak time of being busy lunch hour rush done. We were greeted with a hello already a pleasant place to be. Haven't eaten Korean food for quite sometime sooo many choices. The lady was very pleasant I knew what I wanted however my nana was still deciding patiently the lady says take your time another plus! We finally order within minutes our food arrives. OMG the portions was really amount to feed two to three! I know MOST Korean food places are Know for their large portions. Though I've been to a few that wasn't Soo generous (I know I sound like a hog n I am). Just in recent visits to a few they don't let you choose your veggies those places it's a flip of a coin as at times I don't like what is given but I eat it, see hog lol. As we're we're eating she asked a few times if we were ok another plus. Oh I forgot to mention the place is clean and quiet. I mean years ago I have been to Elms but that was well over five years!
