It always makes me feel good when I can honestly write a good review for a company and that is exactly what I and my husband wish to do for Dave. Just met him today when he came to fix the damper in our fireplace. the damper was out of the track and he fixed it in a very short time. He also showed us how to open and shut the damper correctly. He took pictures and educated us so that this would not happen again. He and his assistant could not have been more professional and friendly. Our furnace went out yesterday and had to be replaced today and the service people were here when Dave arrived. He said that one expense was enough for one day and would not charge us for the visit. Not hard to figure out why Dave will be our go to person going forward for any fireplace services. We had gotten another quote from another repair company to the tune of $700 and were not told that the damper just came out of the track. I recently reached out to several fireplace companies for assistance with our fireplace and Valor, once again, was the company with the earliest availability. My appointment was scheduled and the communication was commendable from the appointment's confirmation to communication prior to arrival time and while on site. Masks were worn and social distancing was adhered to the whole time and it was very much appreciated. After the problem was investigated, it was discussed, corrected and the work area cleaned up. I called Valor to get my chimney swept and for a professional opinion as to why my fireplace chimney didn't seem to draw well. David and his team were very professional and engaging. David examined the whole system and determined that a spring loaded closure system on the top of the chimney installed by the prior owner and an overdue cleaning were the causes for the poor draft. I agreed that he would remove the closure system as well as clean the chimney. Problem solved. David also identified a weakness in our chimney cap - a lack of expansion joints around the three flues and a resulting crack in the cap. I will have him come back in the Spring to rebuild the cap. I strongly recommend David and his team for their work and for the clarity and detail of their explanations. read more

This company is the best, they were great in communicating about my appointment and when they would be coming. They were on-time and were masked up along with bootys. David, the Founder was so nice and friendly. Extremely knowledgeable and spent almost 45 minutes with me, showing me things about my fireplace. I asked them to come and clean my chimney, upon inspection, Dave was honest and said it was very clean, then proceeded to walk me through all aspects of my fireplace, how to use it, he even got into my crawl space to confirm that my gas had a shutoff valve. We used Valor to replace a rusting chimney cap. They delivered as promised and the new cap looks great! They weren't the cheapest quote we received, but insisted on doing the job right with the right materials (which the builder failed to do), which we liked. I had Valor out as my 25 year old ventless fireplace smelled like gas. The technician explained that the fireplace was safe and the smell was coming from oxidation (or something like that). He did not push me to get a new insert but let me know that the newer kinds would not have that problem. I had him order one for me which was installed within 2 days of it coming in. Valor Chimney is amazing. The owner Dave knows what he is doing and he is honest. Every time it rained I had water leaking down my fire place. I also had some water leaking in my attic. It turned out that I needed a new cap and some calking. Dave took care of both issues and I have not had any leaking since. I would definitely recommend this company. read more
