Previous company could not figure out the problem after spending 2 hours of my time and after cutting a 3 by 3 feet square opening in the ceiling. Called in response to $69 ad for drain rooting, they got here and charged me $79 to snake the sewer lines. They found a break in the old cast iron pipe and gave me two options to fix this problem. First was to cut a 30' trench in my driveway to replace the pipe for $12,000. Second was to cut and dig to install a 3' patch for $4,800, my wife yelling in my ear to do something, I went with this option. The job took one man no more than 12 hours, material cost maybe $100. so the labor rate was $400 per hour. I must have been out of my mind to hire these guys, reputable plumbers in Morgan Hill charge about $200 or less. But wait, it gets better, a week later my plumbing backed up again. I called them out expecting this snake job would be part of their $79 guarantee, but no this blockage is not covered, they want another $79. I've been overcharged up the wazoo and still have a problem. Need a plumber? I suggest you go somewhere else. read more

I would give them 0 starts if i had option to, really bad service and unprofessional employees , they don't know how to talk to customers. So what happened was i called them to get my toilets unclogged, first thing i told him was that we have a baby at home and we think she might have thrown something in the toilet that got stuck somewhere, he said its fine he will run the snake thing and it will fix it, i said yea sure do whatever you gotta do. So he REMOVED the toilet seat and ran the snake in the pipe and he said its clean and he put the seat back on. And when he was done i try to flush the toilet and toilet was still clogged! I was like what? Then he said oh something might be stuck in the actual seat i have to REMOVE (he just removed it and put it back on 5 minutes ago) the seat again and it will cost extra. I was like what? Why? You just had the seat removed you should have checked it first place? And I disagreed i said the main reason i called you was the get the toilets unclogged idc what you do or how you do it. He said its not part of the deal, i said deal was to get my toilets back running thats all. Then he started arguing with me and talking on my face like he wants to fight. My first experience with Elite Rooter was excellent. The drain of my kitchen sink was slow again. I had to snake it 3 times in the last 2 years, with the most recent one only 4 months ago (I snaked it myself that time). So I search for a plumber and saw Elite's promotion. Booking was easy and I got a spot the next day. The technicians (Martin and Fernando) was very courteous and professional. They called me 15 minutes before arrival within the booked time window. Once they are onsite, they did a quick assessment, and explained what they are going to do. Martin also confirmed that I am eligible for the promotion without me asking. Even though it was a routine cable snake, they felt strong resistance at a tough spot. Instead of forcing the cable through, they were cautious and patient. They even asked access to the crawl space so that one person can go down, check things and monitor the progress. And they brought shoe cover!!! I made a last minute call to Elite rooter when another plumber I was going to have fix our shower drain quoted a very high price. Elite Rooter had a coupon on their website and was able to come out to the house within the hour. Pablo was the technician and he knows his craft! He informed me I could not use the coupon due to the complexity of the clog and that was fine as we live in an old house and things work differently in these types of homes. I would give a lower rating if that was possible. I had called them because we had a clogged main line from the house to the city line. This same problem had happened last year and a different plumbing company we had used then had run a camera and given us video of a tree root which they then cut out with their main line machine. These guys from Elite Rooter could not cut out the root. The "specialist" who's name is Gabe Robles came out and was argumentative from the moment he stepped on our property. He spoke rudely and kept insisting on stories of how the pipe may be collapsed or this and that instead of trying to figure out how to clear out the clog. He got belligerent and as he was leaving he dared us to give a review and shouted "enjoy your toilet". Then instead of entering his truck and leaving this guy (Gabe Robles) aggressively moved towards the house where my wife was standing and threatened "Remember, I am only in this uniform for a few hours!" She had to shut the front door in a hurry to keep us safe. Do not ever use these guys. Not only are they incompetent but their staff act like thugs and threaten customers! read more

I had an issue with our clean out line backing up. Booked an appointment online... got confirmation and my Technican Eddie arrived on time. After attempting several times to snake the sewer line he called one of his team members who brought out a camera to inspect the line. They showed me that the line was broken in several places and needed replacement. They began the work right away and brought in a couple of other technicians to assist. They keep me informed through the process and finished the big job in a couple of days. Spend a lot of time cleaning up and getting the yard back in shape. DO NOT LET THIS KIND OF COMPANY IN BUSINESS!!! I called them just for snake the sewer due to the clog in sewer line. It took him at least 20 min to clear the line. Then they will start selling you for the camera inspection with credit toward more work if there's any issue in the sewer pipe. I'm okay with the camera inspection since they will charge me total of $189 for snake and inspection. The next day, 2 guys came and put camera in the line, pushed fairly quick and he said he saw pipe offset which will create backup soon (days) to scare you. He recommended to just install the city cleanout ($4,600) and told that the sewer line is not needed to be replaced (which is another $4,000). It was my fault to fall into his words, with discount, with credit etc. I agreed to contract them to do the city cleanout installation. Next day, not sure when, they started digging. They used shovel and jack hammer as tools for digging 5-6ft wide by 6 ft deep and end up breaking the existing sewer line around 7pm. I got home around 6pm and saw 4-5 crew members looking worried then I felt that something is not right. They brought up the pipe to show me that it's corrode and would not recommend to leave it like this. The connector will not hold the new section or the pipe will not withstand the torque and pressure from the connector, create more problems down the road etc. They want another $4,000 to replace the pipe. At this point, I NO longer trust them, as any other people should, and I look for other professionals for opinion and quotes. They ended up the night by just laying down ABS pipe 3-4ft long as the temporary line, no connector of anything. In the morning, I checked around and got quotes from multiple companies. I asked them to stop any work and would like to pay for labor cost for a day of digging and permit. They want $3,000 and non-negotiable. Lessons I learned - They used in-expensive service (snake) as bait. If you just need that, they're okay - Do not fall for their special discount, it doesn't exist - If they have experience or be honest to customer, they should have told me at the beginning that the pipe is in bad shape and need to be replaced. I think they know but they just tried to be nice to help save money on what only need. - They have steps like snake = pipe leak/tree root = camera inspection (will be credited) = pipe offset = will backup soon = need cleanout installation = start work = found more problems = need new sewer line = end up will be paying ~$3,000 more than other companies - Beware that they might start work the next morning without any call to city to survey the area before. You might not be lucky like me that they didn't hit the gas line. This is my honest review from my experience. They didn't push me or force me that I need to do all these. But they use tactic like discount/credit toward next work, or put you in situation that you feel miserable and want to get thing done with them. Beware if you have old house with old sewer line. I'm one of those people who automatically is skeptical of everyone until they prove me otherwise & am even more so when it comes to work being done on our house, BUT Elite Rooter is the first & only home improvement company I've come across which is actually honest AND skilled. Giovanni and Matt really sealed the deal - they're up-front about everything, kind, and sympathetic to our problems. My experience with Elite actually began during their work for my employer - she holds a Ph.D. in psychology & organizational education AND is one of the original NLP ("neuro-linguistic PSYCHOLOGY", as she shes) experts, so the fact that she trusts them should speak well of their integrity, honesty, and all-around demeanor. Anyways... We had a pre-existing plumbing problem due to a horrific experience with a different plumbing company last year...throughout the past year, the problem presented itself as simply an annoyance so we let it go - it simply wasn't worth having to even *possibly* go through another ordeal like that ever again... BUT, having found Elite Rooter to be not only capable, but trustworthy, we gave them a call and were set to have them come in after the holidays...plus, what was previously a small, slowly growing crack had just begun to grow in size at an expeditious rate (a couple of weeks)... Fast track a few days (a few days before Christmas) and CRASH..."Puppies, bad!" (thought it was my dogs playing around). I get up to take a shower, turn into the bathroom door and literally jump back - our celing and part of the wall is all over the floor and bathtub. We immediately call Elite & Giovanni, bless his soul, cancels his plans to come check it out. Surprise, surprise - that leak from the bathroom directly above this one - the one RH claimed to have fixed by replacing the sewer line (yea, didn't really understand that one either)? Yea, that leak finally reared it's ugly head. THANK GOD this didn't happen before meeting Matt & Giovanni! Fast forward one week (Elite began work the next day, but we had to put the rest of the work off a few days due to family arriving for the holidays) & everything is fixed! Not only were we able to see what was done, but Giovanni provided photos documenting the work before AND after - we never got either from RH...AND my brother (an engineer for one of the Bay Area's largest construction companies) even praised their work...he also made a statement about wondering how the other company could have fixed the leak without any holes in the walls...well, now we know. What started as blocked drains in both bathroom sinks turned into replacement of our 59 year old cast iron pipe sewer system. I have done repairs of our sewer system over our 38 years in this home but I am just to old to crawl under the house anymore. I tried my trusty snake to clear the blockage but had no luck. Erik Zavala came to the house and attempted to clear the blockage but had no luck. He eventually found the blockage by removing a section of the sewer line but could not get a good cut into the old cast iron without it crumbling. At that point I made the decision to replace all the cast iron up to the foundation out the the front yard. Erik and his helper spent two full days under the house replacing all the cast iron. We had toilets except for a few hours over the 2.5 days of work. They put down paper on all floors and were very careful.
