I requested attention to a non functioning ice maker that they repaired a little over a year ago. Their written contract plainly states all materials and parts were warranted for 5 years, but they refused to honor their own contract. They were initially all set to do the work, cancelled twice, then came up with gobbledygook reasons for why they wouldn't honor their own contract. I have a 30+ year old refrigerador we almost replaced due to avoiding another repair company after being burned in the past. I seriously had a company come to my house thirteen (yes, 13) times once before getting it repaired. I requested an appointment online and mentioned I preferred email or text verses a phone call. Early the next day, Robin reached out via email and text. Appointment easily scheduled for the next day. Then, Jamie and Michael arrived 5 minutes early and diagnosed my issue in minutes. They provided a clear explanation of what needed to be done and gave me a quote right then and there. I then expected to have to schedule a return trip to wait for parts, but Jaime said he could start right then. After protecting every surface around my refrigerator, they got to work. Once complete, Jaime recapped what they had done, and even repaired other things a vintage fridge would need. Lastly, he made some recommendations on maintainance I could do to prolong the lifespan, and even what settings to keep. Read the amazing reviews so called them to give a quote to repair my subzero wine refrigerator. The bottom drawer section working just fine but the upper section wasn't cooling. They came out and told me that I needed to replace the sealed system for the ENTIRE unit, including bottom drawers for $5500 . New unit is $9000. I told him the bottom was cooling just fine but he insisted that it was broken and needed to be replaced. Called Star Tech Appliance (2815757779) and Joe came out. I am so pleased that I found this company to service my aging Sub-zero refrigerator. I was able to get an appointment in a very reasonable amount of time, and the technician called when he was on his way. The service was outstanding! I'd had 2 other companies look at/'repair' the non-specific Service error, and had spent good $$ only to have the problem return. The temperature wouldn't get below 40° even though the panel said 34°, and I knew my fridge was trying to tell me something! When Elite arrived, I was told that it needed a board replaced, it was an 'order' item, and would be in the next day. No service charge for diagnosis. They returned the next day, and my refrigerator is working flawlessly! I also had an issue with the gasket being split. He told me it wasn't necessary to replace at this time, but would need it eventually. I opted to go ahead and do that as well. The technician explained the cause of the issues, and told me what I could expect in the way of issues in the future, but reassured me that I have many years left on the unit. The refrigerator is 17 years old, but he says it's going to last many more years. Subzero repairs are not cheap, but then neither are the refrigerators. However, I believe I got excellent service at a reasonable cost. I highly recommend this company if you need Subzero repairs! read more
