One of my childhood breakfast spots. Brings me back to Sunday mornings with Grandma and Grandpa. Still even has that faint stale cigarette smell to it. The only thing that's missing are all of the plates lining the wall shelving. Back to 2012 for a sec though. The menu looks quite a bit smaller but my favorite was still on the menu. Ordered the German pancake and it brings me back. I forgot to get the bacon extra crisp, so my bad on that. Solid 3 star breakfast. read more

Food was good but nothing exciting. The hashbrowns were a little off, naybe burnt. Steak though small was cooked decent so that's a plus. We have always enjoyed food at Elmer's,but our first time at this location! The waitress was really nice , no complaint's! We both ordered breakfast food and coffee which both was just warm! The coffee was an unreasonable price @ $2.69 a cup!! The cashier was less than friendly. I will never go there again or recommend them to friends. How can I politely say the food will make a turd? We entered at 8:30 not knowing they closed at 9 - that salad was an amazing mix of head lettuce and three or six strands of carrot at "extra $4" and the food was not ready to be served when we got the bare bones meals we ordered. In general I love Elmer's but this location was a disappointment. We were seated in the far back next to a kitchen door even though there were many other open tables closer up. The server took well over 10 minutes to even get to us even though our menus were down to show we were ready. This is one of our favorite breakfast restaurants. Mr Elmer's Favorite omlett is one of my favorites along with their Acacado Eggs Benedict with Canadian Bacon added. We love going to Elmers in Clackamas . We take the family, or the family takes us. Everything smells so good even from outside. I have so many favorites, omelettes, eggs Benedict, eggs and hash browns, and fantastic pancakes. Our grand sons like the chocolate chip pancakes and the German pancake. We adore the staff. Came in by myself waited at least 10 minutes after being sat, no one greeted me. I had my order ready so I decided to go over to the lounge where every single table was dirty and the only one clean was broken. I never actually got to try the food. Went there this morning with some friends. It was very good and was a great value. We have had food at Elmers before based on recommendations from somebody who loves their breakfasts. It was packed, which is always a good sign. I had the ranch breakfast and my wife ordered the BLT. I have been to the one in Vancouver which is a little newer location. read more

This location is one of the nicest Elmer's Restaurants around. Very clean surroundings, immediately greeted at entrance, seated quickly, prompt service, the waitress was a veteran and spot on, food was aesthetically pleasing as well as delicious and our experience from our arrival until departure was pleasant. We primarily go for breakfast as they hit the ball out of the park when it comes to all breakfast items. The potato pancakes, and omelettes are our favorites. Three of us decided to come to Elmer's on short notice. We came in and we're seated immediately. The staff was very friendly, and we were pleasantly surprised at how fast our food came! We got two different omelettes, pancakes, and then a two egg breakfast. The portions were large enough to get stuffed on and the food was very fresh, and could tell they made it right then and there! Pretty disappointing. I ordered a to go order of prime rib- medium, and it came so well done I think it was cooked several days ago! And it is not like it was cheap- $21.99. Came with overlooked veggies, an overlooked baked potato, A boring salad with stale croutons and 2 onion rings that were actually the best part of the dinner. I'm typing this while sitting in a booth in the currently un-used side of the restaurant. We arrived at 6am when the doors opened. It is now 1:33pm. We'd hoped to be back on the road home by noon. The wonderful early morning staff here welcomed us, had empathy for our plight (truck being fixed nearby and no where to wait at the garage) and never once approached us with an eye towards getting us to order more or leave. Technically this is our 3rd visit today as we didn't want to roost here, underfoot without eating and we couldn't eat ALL day long. The two breakfasts we've had were yummy. Eggs Benedict (Hollandaise could've used a lot more lemon but that's just our taste), waffles, eggs over easy, German pancake (bigger than you'd think. share one). When we came back it was tea, cream of chicken soup with rice and an appetizer sampler platter. Warming, filling and .. not once did Cassie or the other lovely women make us feel bad for taking up space. We hope to be out of their hair soon, and will send a nice thank you gift once we get home. In the meantime, if you're in the area, stop by. Especially in the wee hours (ok, 6, 7, 8am aren't that 'wee') and meet the best batch of waitresses in OR! While you're at it, enjoy some food. The worst breakfast I have ever had. But then again if you like cold fried eggs, sausages, and hashbrowns that leave a greasy taste after the first bite then it is the place for you. Oh and I also ordered biscuit and gravy that I was so longing for and it was terrible, gravy just warm and biscuit tough. The waitress offered to take it back and warm it...yuk for sure. The place rally needs a big face lift, dark and the decor looks like it came from goodwill or needs to go back there. I have visited this restaurant a few times with large groups. Parking was great. The food was good, great choices. The prices are reasonable. They had a back room where we could all sit together and were patient with our group. I highly recommend Elmers! read more

Every where on the Monday of Labor Day weekend was slammed. We only had to wait a few minutes for a table at Elmers. We were already nearby to grab some coffee and wanted a quick late breakfast and this did the job. The staff was very friendly and the food was pretty tasty. My only complaint is that it took a long time for anyone to finally make it over to the table and then it took a while for the food. I would consider stopping in here again for a basic breakfast for sure. read more

The chicken fried steak is amazing, so tender you can cut it with a fork! My eggs were ordered over-easy and to my surprise they were perfectly cooked, its difficult to get over-easy eggs that aren't over cooked. The hashbrowns are cut with thick shreds and because of that they don't stick together as thin shredded hashbrowns normally do. Made it an adventure in its self to eat them. I also ordered a hot chocolate without whipped cream and it was really good, wasn't scalding hot so I could sip immediatly and wasn't overly sweet like the powdered hot cocoa packets usually are. I've eaten at this location twice...once for breakfast and then lunch about 3 weeks ago. I don't recall what I had for breakfast as it was about 3 1/2 years ago. However, my Cobb salad was excellent. It was surprisingly generous in size...didn't expect that. It had all the usual items - nice chunks of chicken and delicious bacon...oh and the bleu cheese...two thumbs up! I was so impressed I think the hubby and I will visit tomorrow for dinner. I'm craving that Cobb salad. The restaurant is quite large, very clean and comfy. The service is good and everyone seemed very friendly. The menu looks good. Breakfast is definitely their thing and served all day. The burgers and sandwiches sound yummy and I hope to try one sometime. I'd definitely rate this place well above Denny's and Shari's...that's a no-brainer! read more

I loved my breakfast! My over medium eggs were cooked perfect! I tried a German pancake for the first time and it was huge! Ate only about 1/3 but loved it with lemon and powdered sugar. Our orders were taken quickly. The waitress made a point to visit with us and shared some information about the restaurant's history and well as some travel tips. Sweet. The first time I had the classic bacon & egg breakfast and the second time a German pancake. The food was fantastic as was the service even thought the place was heaving.
