The food is at best a 4 out of 10. The food just seems rushed and not cared about. The oregon lottery side is nice and clean compared to the main area. Now I also feel bad for the person in the oregon lottery side because they have to deal with your food orders and alchohol orders all by them selfs and do the lottery. So when I come here to use lottery I always tip really well cause they get no help and have to maintain and clean the whole area alone. Sat myself down at a table of 1...ordered two salads, a glass of wine- cause why not?! Had the salads delivered to my table and packed them up myself! What?? What a waste of your staffs time! This is the fist time my husband and I visited this location. We are here out of town and the restaurant was recommended by one of your locals. We were greeted by your server Addie. You could tell she was bothered by her tone of voice when she took our orders. She was very monotone, robotic and distracted - I feel her service was a bit cold. She never said hi how are you , thank you for coming in and, when she served our food, she never gave my husband and the opportunity to enjoy our food. When she approached or table again with or check, she tossed it across or table. Cold, unpleasant, robotic and in-personable. Never have I had such poor service at breakfast time. From the time I walked into the building, everyone on the clock seemed to be bothered, distracted, cold, unwelcoming, didn't want to be in the moment and absolutely rude. Stumbled upon this place while exploring this morning and I'm so glad we did! This was genuinely one of the best breakfasts I've ever had in my life (and I'm a huge fan of breakfast). I got the Belgian waffle with triple Northwest berries and boy was it delicious! The waffle was crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and the berries were so fresh and tasty. I came for German pancakes and I conquered. I was having one of those mornings when you wake up and are craving a certain thing and you only know of one place that serves that one thing. Yeah, Elmer's is probably the only place I know on this side of town that serves German pancakes. I have been here before for breakfast and I actually prefer them over other chain breakfast spots. The downside is they are always busy on the weekends. But people like it enough to wait the half hour or so. They have a huge breakfast selection. First time in a long time eating at Elmer's. My wife was jonesing for one of their german pancakes after having one last week at a different Elmer's. Given it's Father's Day, they were predictably slammed, and we had to wait about twenty minutes to get seated. The environment was very loud. No biggy. Once seated, they were quick to provide menus and drinks. Our server was Sara and she was very efficient and informative. My wife did have a german pancake which looked great. It was big but she finished it which is atypical for her. I had a "skillet" which is essentially scrambled eggs on top of hash-browns, meat, and sautéed veggies. It was good. I had options for bread and chose a pancake and two eggs over easy. The eggs were perfect, the pancake small. Our coffee cups were never allowed to go empty, and our requests for ketchup, additional sweetener and napkins were pleasantly and quickly fulfilled. Again, given that it was Father's Day and all that entails, this was a good experience, and we would go back. I recommend you give Elmer's a whirl. read more

Could not have been better! Went on a Thursday morning and we were seated immediately. Friendly staff. Wonderfully delicious German pancake combo (super huge eggy thin pancake with crispy edges served with eggs and a meat). It was enough to split and have leftovers!! I absolutely loved this place as soon as I walked in! It was warm and welcoming our server immediately walked us over to the tables and asked us what drinks we would like/. When we ordered our drinks I attempted to order my food as well but I guess that you have to wait for the next table to order their food or something i don't know it was weird I didn't like that because I was ready to order but it wasn't a big problem it only took 2 minutes for him to return to take our order so it didn't bother me but at the same time he could've just took my order and placed it after the other tables order but any way/. I was charged $4.49 for A 6 INCH PANCAKE. I know everything is getting more expensive, but that WAS A RIP OFF. Came here with a group today to get brunch. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. The staff all had on holiday shirts and the restaurant was cutely decorated for Christmas. We were seated immediately, and the table was next to windows and a fireplace. The only strange thing about this visit was that our table for 6 had folding chairs for half of our party, however they were very comfortable. As this was the only table with these chairs, I just assume something happened to the original chairs. The waitress was kind and honest and funny. She was knowledgable and made sure every part of our experience was good. She stayed on top of beverage refills and brought our split checks promptly. All the food we had was good! The only complaint was one of us surely got coffee from an old pot. It tasted terrible and different than everyone else's. Overall, I would go here again. Today Bells and I went to breakfast before going Christmas shopping. She ordered the strawberry pancakes, (is there any other type of pancakes for a 7 year old girl?), and I had the steak and eggs. Of course the strawberries were gone in a flash, and the pancakes, well, they are secondary food items. The steak was surprisingly tender, juicy and flavorful. I like my steak without all the bottled sauces, no A1, no Tabasco, no nothing. A good steak should stand be itself, right. This one was lightly seasoned and nicely cook to order. Granted, not the best steak I had, but nice for a cold Sunday morning. This place get busy and you may have to wait to be seated. The service is good, prompt, and frequent. This is a nice change in a very busy establishment. Elmer's is a place where many of our Veterans go for a meal. As we were sitting there, just two booth down was a Vietnam Veteran with his hat displaying the First Cavalry badge. After our meal we walked up to his table and shook his hand and thanked him for our freedom. On the way out for the restaurant there was a man and his wife standing waiting for a table. And for some decent 'cakes out in the burbs where chain restaurants rule (I didn't write that rule) Elmers turns out some pretty tasty breakfast fare at a reasonable price and they do it with a smile. Wait staff is professionally nice and speedy. Though they are frequently busy on the weekends, they don't rush you or make you feel like you are taking up a table if you want to take your sweet ass time and chow down a German pancake at your own speed. I do like that I don't have to be old to care about portion size as they allow anybody any age to order a smaller version of many popular items at a reduced price instead of saving that 'privilege' for people over 65.
