    Dungeness crab Benedict
    Nancy T.

Friendly service and decent food. I had the Dungeness crab Benedict. It was pretty good, although the Dungeness crab wasn't fresh. Husband had omelette with hash browns and biscuit. Coffee was about what you'd expect for a chain restaurant. Family friendly place.

I really like this Elmer's. I have always gotten really good food here. The California omelette I had was great. I always get excellent service here too. It is a chain restaurant, so it looks like all the others but it is clean and well maintained. My only complaint was the air conditioning was really cranked up and we were cold.

Belgian Waffle with strawberries, bacon and eggs

I ate here a lot with my family as a child, and decades later the place still looks exactly the same. I had a very nostalgic experience here with the belgian waffle, bacon and eggs I ordered, which were all delicious. The only thing that was strange was that when it was time for the check, my waitress just disappeared? Not sure what happened there since I was one of the few tables in the restaurant.

We had our little dog with us so I was happy to see they had a dog friendly patio. It was a warm day and the staff immediately brought her out a bowl of water, which was a thoughtful gesture and shows the level of service they offer to their patrons. Our server, I believe her name was Casey, was lovely. She was friendly and seemed to know a lot of the regulars by name which gave the restaurant a welcoming feel. I ordered the Danish pancakes (Æbleskiver), and they were absolutely delicious. They came with house-made lemon curd and lingonberry jam, and both were incredible. The lemon curd was rich and creamy with just the right amount of tartness, while the lingonberry jam added a sweet-tart flavor that paired perfectly with the fluffy pancakes. Four of them were more than enough to fill me up. My husband ordered the Pytt i Panna, a traditional Swedish hash made with crispy potatoes, bell peppers, and onions, topped with two soft-baked eggs and served with pickled beets and Nordic rye toast. It was hearty, comforting, and full of flavor. The pickled beets were a nice contrast to the savory hash, and everything on the plate was scrumptious! Between the delicious food, welcoming service, and dog-friendly patio, we had a very nice time and it was a good send-off before our walk through the woods to find Ole Bolle. I'd happily come back the next time I'm in the area.

We started with the cardamom latte (rich and nutty) and the matcha marzipan (sweet and with enough aromatic almond flavor) and then proceeded to feast. We started with the Danish pancake donuts- lovely in that they were both savory and sweet, comes with lemon curd and jam. The lefse breakfast was really interesting - a layered thicker 'crepe' with cheese and egg. The fish plate was our family favorite - an epic collection of shrimp, mini shrimps, gravlax, pickled herring (our favorite) various breads, crackers and sauces. Very well presented, fun to eat, and enough to share. We also ordered the Swedish meatballs - rich hearty but small and few (5 total). Luckily, we had plenty of other food and this dish was great with sherry mushroom sauce and a delicious potato latke-like side. Our server was also incredibly personable, friendly, and helpful in our food choices which we always appreciate.

Inside is clean, bright but impersonal and generic. Maybe they just haven't had the time to put their stamp on it yet. The upsides - there is table service now and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I've ordered their Country Fried Steak with scrambled eggs multiple times now. Still a very good steak and sausage gravy. Either the steak breading of the sausage gravy was maybe a touch more salty than usual. The eggs were disappointing- scrambled eggs should be fluffy due to constantly stirring over low heat in a pan - and previously they always had been. This time they were a overcooked dense, dry puck, It was as if the egg mixture was poured out on the flattop, left and flipped once. Still eatable with hot sauce. Over all - they did hit a ball, but definitely no home run. It's unlikely that I'll be back.

The food is tasty and high quality, as are the coffee and the Bloody Marys. Service is friendly and competent in our experience. The staff is shockingly rude and many of my experiences over the last 2 years match the other 1-star reviews. Yesterday I arrived to sit outside. There was an available table, empty and cleaned right near the entrance but they require check in first so I attempted to get someone to check me in. Five employees stood just a few feet away, looked me in the eye, actively ignored me and turned away. I finally had to ask them (with their backs turned away) to please seat me and then more dismissive and unprofessional behavior continued. I keep hoping the rudeness it's just a one-off circumstance but sadly it's not. It's as if customers are an annoyance. Does the auto-added 18% gratuity really mean ya'll have zero incentive to be kind? I really wish the compulsion to make customer care a priority mattered more to them, auto-tip or not. It's such a stark contrast to the vibe at their sister restaurant Lola's. Lola's is warm, welcoming, and actually appreciates your business. It's confounding how these two restaurants can be owned by the same family. Buck family, please thoughtfully digest your one star reviews and make CHANGES so your local community can feel welcomed at Bábica too.

We were seated quickly -- it was a nice day, so we sat in their lovely outdoor dining area. They brought us room temperature waters (not a fan), and took our drink orders rather quickly. Service was good throughout our visit. I ordered the IPA Bacon Cheeseburger, which came (over)loaded with lots of fresh vegetables, a large burger patty, and the IPA mustard sauce. I don't want to complain about a burger being piled high with bacon, pickles, and fresh onions, lettuce, & tomatoes; but it was difficult to eat. While the Challah bun was delicious, it was woefully undersized for the task of holding it all together. I enjoyed it, but felt the IPA sauce was lost in the midst of everything else, and I also thought the burger patty was under-seasoned. I ordered fries as a side, and unfortunately they were the "battered" variety, which I just don't enjoy. Restaurants -- please, just serve normal French fries, without any batter on them! We knew from past experience that baked goods and desserts are really what La Provence is good at, so we ordered Tiramisu for dessert. Their very non-traditional take on this Italian classic would probably some people uneasy, but it was delicious. It had a dense chocolate cake base, with a thick layer of mascarpone mousse on top of that, then a topping of thin, crunchy, chocolate hazelnut ganache. Not too sweet, with a variety of textures to enjoy. We would definitely come back again, but I'd get something other than burger and fries.

When we moved to Oregon, it was under construction but we kept hearing how good it was - in fact, all the local FB pages would gush about it when a newcomer would ask about the best restaurant. And once it finally opened, we tried it, but it was kind of like Marie calendars and Shari's, but local. Ok, but not what we had expected for all the hype. So, after trying a handful of options it seemed Bannings was the only place we could still get breakfast so I begrudgingly agreed. Well, I was mistaken! I got the breakfast enchiladas and a strawberry orange mimosa. Now, the mimosa - I'll get that out of the way first. It was weird - it looked curdled. It just had mashed strawberry at the bottom and it actually was quite good. I'd do a normal mimosa in the future, but good. But the enchiladas - delicious. Like, I'll come back again and again for those. And they didn't charge me extra for the avocado, which I think is righteous because I asked for no hash browns. But not all places would do that, they'd nickel and dime even if you passed on one side for another. Additionally; my husband likes a savory breakfast and a sweet one too - so he often gets two breakfasts and though he may not eat all of both he gets that savory and sweet. Well, the omelettes come with 3 pancakes. Perfection. And, I took 3 bites of them - I usually might try 1 or not at all - they are very very good. Last - it did not break the bank. I've about ruled out breakfast out because of how crazy expensive the places that should be reasonable are. This was reasonable - PLEASE DONT CHANGE!! All in all 5 stars, will be back for breakfast; and hey - when I'm wrong I can admit I was wrong! Give them a try if you haven't!
