We haven't been to Elmer's in a really long time, but decided we needed brunch, we're hungry and it's right down the hill so it was the closest thing. Elmer's is always solid I might add - so we weren't relinquishing anything. We ordered seasonal breakfast items and a coffee and a couple mimosas. Everything was great! Everything was also super expensive! Now to be fair, my husband always has to order a savory and a sweet item, so we got more food than we needed but it was nearly $100 bucks after tip. Entrees were basically $20 a pop. I really, really do like Elmer's, but it shouldn't be a toss up between Elmer's and Fogo De Chao - the two for two would literally have been within a ten dollar difference. In my head without paying attention I imagined in the $12-14 per plate price point. I regret nothing, but was just taken aback by the pricing, and the difference of how high it is in comparison to a Cafe Murrayhill, Store Street Cafe, or even Babica Hen. All less expensive per plate by quite a bit. Will we go back to Elmer's, I'm sure. But thought it was worth noting! read more

Joanna and I are driving from Portland to Newport, Oregon this morning. We stopped for breakfast at Elmer's in Tigard and I'm so glad. I had the Farmers omelette with sausage, bacon, onions and gravy. Also, a biscuit with real butter. So good! Joanna had eggs over easy, sausage links and a side of avocado. Very assessable during Mother's Day weekend and the servers were all great and friendly. Bernabé was our server and she was quick and super nice to all of us even bringing us a car seat holder for our table for our 7 month old. The food was very good and not overcooked. I really like this Elmer's. I have always gotten really good food here. The California omelette I had was great. I always get excellent service here too. It is a chain restaurant, so it looks like all the others but it is clean and well maintained. My only complaint was the air conditioning was really cranked up and we were cold. read more

The service was great. Fast, attentive, polite. The food was only worth two stars. I had clam chowder and a BLTA. The chowder was luke warm, thick, no clams, barely any potatoes and gloppy. The bread on the sandwich was fresh, the tomato and avocado good. The amount of mayo was disgusting, the lettuce wilted and the bacon tasted like they cooked it on a filthy grill. I won't be back. Ordered a breakfast bowl with hash brown, country fried steak, eggs and gravy. The food was DELICIOUS. -1 star because there was a hair on my food that was immediately noticed once the food got dropped off. I don't really like to complain, but I mentioned it to my partner and he brought it up to a nearby server (not our original server) and she said "I don't see it. But ok" then took the bowl several feet away to inspect the bowl within our view with our original server to bring the same bowl back saying "I don't see the hair. It's just egg." I pointed the hair out....again, to both servers and they took it back. They kindly remade the food which I appreciate, and it's telling because once my food arrived it was noticeably HOT when it arrived. Thankfully the food was good and saved this whole experience, but the interaction was just weird. I was already hesitant in bringing it up, and they made me feel stupid and dismissed. If you didn't see it the first time what's the point of taking the food, and why not ask for clarification? Why snap at my boyfriend and say "I'm just doing my job"? And what ever happened to customer is always right? Kudos to the chefs, customer service could use improvement. read more

A friend took me here to help him with some rudimentary travel advice. Parking, fine. Noise, off the charts. Food, all right. Service, fine--especially considering how busy and crowded the place was. So it was okay, but nothing to get very excited about. This location has served my family well over the years. Although I've moved away from the area, I still make it a point to visit at least once. What keeps me coming back? Great breakfast spot with better quality than Denny's or bear diners. Good coffee and the waitress refilled often. I asked for their Elmer Ranch breakfast with specific requests. The eggs were perfect with no runny whites. The sausage patties yummy and the biscuit the best I've ever had- fluffy and warm. The 3 stars is because I asked for crispy crunchy potatoes and these were lightly cooked. Next time I would emphasize it more. Staff was friendly and place is clean. My friend and I went for breakfast. We ordered one Eggs Benedict plate and 2 orders of their fancy hash browns. It looks like they are $2.99 on the menu. But if you read the fine print, it's only for adding ons. They charged me $6.99 for each one. Since we did order a full breakfast plate we should have gotten one order for $2.99. They Confirmed the mistake. I live a distance away so I won't be going in to fix it but I will never go back here. Also the eggs Benedict were cold. Not even warm and the eggs on top were raw. The wait staff is always friendly and attentive, regardless of how busy they are. Yummy. You had me at "Dutch Pancakes". Everything else on the menu probably terrific too - but this is the clear standout for me. This is our favorite location for a late breakfast! The young man at the check-in podium was delightful & was heard offering each family with young kids, a kid menu & highchair (aware of customer needs from a teenager is impressive). Our waitress was a young woman that has waited on us previously, always with a genuine smile & got every detail of our order correct. The food came out quickly & our waitress checked back often. The Carafe Mimosa was amazing, the Cascade Club was yummy as always, I love that they always allow substitutions for the side as no extra charge too. The French toast was 3 sizable pieces of Texas toast and were filling on their own, but came with eggs & bacon too! The best part of EVERY visit is watching management actively participating in seating patrons & clearing tables the entire time. Not having Take Out is literally the ONLY complaint we have with this Chain Restaurant, but they do have plenty of employees everytime we've been ate there to get you in & out quickly. read more

Locally, we feel that Elmer's has a reputation for top service, amazing food and a comfortable cozy environment. We anxiously waited for the Elmer's remodel and grand opening. Three of us went for breakfast on Veteran's Day. The restaurant hit all of our expectations. Friendly faces, quickly seated, ordered quickly and beautiful plates of food were delivered. Not a thing went wrong. My apologies for not grabbing the server's name, she was from out of town, super sweet, bubbly, fast, accommodating... we will be back. I had an egg white omelet, my son had pancakes and husband had biscuits with gravy. We took leftovers home to enjoy the next morning. Loved sitting in view of the fireplace. Regarding the Elmer's at 1250 NW Waterhouse Ave., Beaverton, OR 97006 Overall we had a good experience with good food, but here are some friendly suggestions: 1) Only the plain cream was set on our table. We learned too late that vanilla was available. 2) The blueberry pancakes looked like plain pancakes with just a few blueberries set on top. My brother was confused and disappointed until he noticed the blueberries were in the bottom of the pancakes. Evenly dispersed berries might be better. 3). I am on a very low carb diet. I had the eggs Benedict, but held the English muffin, the fruit, and the hashbrowns, yet nothing was knocked off the price. Most places offer me extra eggs. Even Jack-in-the-Box gave me extra scrambled eggs. I suspect there are going to be an increasing number of low-cab/carnivore eaters. Be prepared. 4) The yolk on one of my poached eggs was completely liquid. The other was completely solid. read more

Good food and a pleasant experience. We were seated quickly on a Sunday afternoon on a long weekend. They have a typical dinner menu. We ordered omelette, eggs Benedict, elephant ears, crepes and some mimosas. Of all the things we ordered, the veggie burger was the most unremarkable, and I would surely pass on it. We enjoyed rest of the food. Hygiene and safety- they had placed the tables far apart and followed all rules. Haven't been to an Elmer's Restaurant in over 30 years decided to stop by the Elmer's Tigard here I have to say the chowders the worst I've ever had in Oregon in fact I wouldn't even eat it. You could tell if the Chowder had been in the warming tray for so long that the gluten had thickened up so much that you could stand the spoon up in the cup of chowder it would stand there I refuse to eat it. The bacon on my partner's Avocado Burger was very unpleasant almost had like a overcooked I'll refrigerator soapy taste to it. I would not recommend anyone ever coming here. Had the fish and chips here the fish was way greasy coleslaw is okay was not very happy with the meal cost quite a bit too for a coffee and Diet Pepsi it was $8 I cannot see ever coming back to this Elmers very disappointed read more

Elmer's is one of the few places open for dine-in, so automatic bonus points for that. Biscuits and gravy were good, and this is a lot better than a couple of the Shari's we went to in Roseburg and Newberg. They did their best to enforce social distancing as well, which was a bonus. read more
