Emack & Bolio's has really good ice cream... flavorful, creamy, and not overly sweet, which I really appreciate. It's definitely a nice dessert spot if you're in the area. The only downside was that I found a long hair in my scoop midway through eating. It was disappointing, but honestly the ice cream was so good I still finished it after removing it. I would just strongly recommend the staff wear hair nets for cleanliness.

Emack and Bolio's has a lot of unique and delicious ice cream flavors and ice cream cones! I loved the grasshopper pie and toasted smores! You can't really go wrong with any of the flavors or cones!! The shop has a little bit of seating inside and outside. The cones can get messy so make sure to grab some extra napkins!

E & B steps away from the traditional ice cream flavors and provides a more unique flavor profile. Felt like I could choose any flavor and be satisfied. Fun options for the kiddos too. Prices are comparable with alternative ice cream shops. Decent serving sizes for the price. Personally enjoyed the space cake!

Emack and Bolio's is one of my favorite ice cream shops. I definitely prefer it over many others. I love the coffee flavor and anything with Peanut Butter. The scoop is huge but sometimes I still enjoy two flavors in one cup. It's getting warm in the afternoon and after a long walk it feels good to have a cold ice cream scoop. If you haven't tried Emack and Bolio's you are in for a treat. This ice cream company has quite a history.

"Bring back the Boston Rag Tell all your buddies That it ain't no drag" (Steely Dan) How cool is the origin story for Emack and Bolios? Well, check this out. In 1975 E&B was founded in Boston as a sort of underground ice cream speakeasy where musicians could hang out after the bars closed at midnight. Aerosmith, Boston, The Cars, U2, James Brown, and Al Green were some of the patrons. And where did that name "Emack and Bolio's" come from? The origin story gets even better when I read it was named after two homeless guys from the neighborhood! So here we are around 50 years later and you will find six E&B's in NY, five in MA, two in Florida, two in Illinois, one in Pennsylvania, and eighteen across Korea, Thailand and China. It was pretty hard deciding which flavor of their super premium ice creams to try, but I finally put my nickel down on a small cup ($6.25) of "Triple Deelit" - a mega chocolate dish with chocolate chips and brownie bits in a deep chocolate ice cream. It was simply amazing. If you ever have the good fortune to be near an E&B, I urge you to give them a try, I really loved their super smooth, super flavorful ice cream.

This chain never fails to disappoint. Stopped in for the toasted s'mores with marshmallow topping - and it's the first location that offered to toast the topping for me. Absolutely delicious. Phenomenal ice cream!

Excellent little ice cream spot with homemade cones! The selection of the ice cream is not extensive, but what they do have, they do a great job at! The cones are all homemade with different flavors. We ordered the blueberry crumble and the Cookie Monster. Both were delicious! Definitely recommend. But don't expect a huge variety of flavors.

Great Oreo cookies. Not overly sugary, but got a great vanilla flavor. $1.75 Oreo add on. Portions are good sized. Enjoyed it here

Delicious.. first time having it. I think I had the vanilla bean and the bean town. The bean town is a sleeper and I could probably have that all the time. Vanilla bean wasn't a slouch either. Only thing I didn't like was the wooden spoon but it did give me Italian ices vibes from back in the day. Nostalgia.

My receipt. The two individual scoops were for two scoops in one cup.

Ordered two scoops of ice cream in a cup. The prices on the price board clearly indicate that two scoops is more economical than one scoop. Also ordered other items so while bill seemed high, I did not look at the details until I got home. Turns out that if you order two scoops, and one is one of the special flavors of the day which cost more than the regular flavors, they charge you the full price for each scoop. My two scoop cup of ice cream cost $13.50 ($6.55 & $6.95). A RIP OFF EVEN FOR NYC! Will never go back there, and if you do,ask what they will charge you before you order or they will take advantage of you.

The cones were so cute, decent selection. The ice cream was mediocre but it was a good first time try. The staff were friendly.

The proof is in the pudding, or in this case frozen dessert. This place can get really busy, even during the winter time for delicious, decadent ice cream, frozen yogurt, vegan or sorbet. Servers are usually warm and friendly but often rotate (which is fine, less of a chance for them to find out my fro yo and sorbet obsession). Pricey but worth it for high quality product. Wish they'd bring back the passionfruit!

This is a review of the one beside John's on Bleecker (I couldn't find it on yelp)...we stopped in for an after pizza treat and boy where we treated. This ice cream was amazing! I had full intentions of visiting this location before the end of our trip (closer to our hotel) but unfortunately I never got to it. I imagine it's the same ice cream, so giving it a 5*. One of the best flavors of ice cream I've ever had.

What are the hours of operation please?

I'm not sure about weekdays, but on weekends they've been opening at 2 pm. I hope that with the warmer weather now, they'll go back to the original noon opening.

There are different types of cold treats: gelatos and more slushie like consistency frozen confections that are served in a cup. My vegan friend appreciated that he could choose from multiple vegan flavors, not just be limited to the one and only offering, which is what most places usually have. Melon flavor was incredible. Tasted like frozen melon was crushed with ice and chopped into an ice/smoothie blend. Super refreshing. Very sweet, though. All flavors are very sweet, so a small portion can be shared and you will feel satisfied. I personally enjoyed their in-house special flavor of gelato: honey cream with crushed almonds, pistachios, and hazelnuts. That was bombastic! Love how nutty the consistency was. I love nuts, so this almost reminded me of a chunky peanut butter situation: just more fine grained and smooth, with gelato being the base. Highly recommend trying this flavor! Focacia was okay. A bit too dry and bland for my liking, but still decent. My favorite item was the pistachio bombolone which is officially now my favorite dessert. This was magnificent! The yeasty dough was so light and airy--perfectly light and balanced. The filling of pistachio cream was very delicate and not sweet at all, which was such a nice surprise. I do not like saccharine dessert. The fresh raspberry jam was a perfect balance to the pistachio cream. I never like jams in my desserts, but this was a perfect complement. Woooow, what a treat! Can't wait to return for it and to try more of their other flavors--hazelnut & chocolate, coconut, white chocolate, tiramisu. You could taste the superb quality of the ingredients. Highly recommend.

And this wasn't that either, but I now need to find a place for this near me. It was more like regular ice cream at a soft-serve consistency, topped with all the things-- that part was as expected. Hubs & I were thinking of getting two different things but we both wanted the mango madness, and then the checkout person said it was the size of a quart container. So just one then. I wish we got to see it being made up but it was full in there (at 10p, after the theaters let out), and they seated us and gave us a buzzer that went off almost immediately. We almost didn't finish it even between the two of us. Absolutely delicious, just overwhelmingly enormous. It could be a low-grade food challenge to complete it! And with all that fruit, actual mango chunks and a banana, it's practically a healthy snack. Gotta find one of these closer to home!

There's just something special about their gelato--especially when topped with that rich pistachio sauce. On a previous visit to their Times Square location, I had one of their more decadent creations: gelato with waffle sticks and pistachio sauce. It was absolutely heavenly and incredibly delicious. This time, I didn't have room for something quite as indulgent, but I still wanted something sweet after dinner at La Basque. The closest Amorino was in Greenwich Village, just a 10-minute walk away. That walk alone is always a treat--Greenwich Village is charming, pedestrian-friendly, and full of outdoor dining and energy, especially on a September Saturday afternoon. I grabbed my gelato to-go and chose the amarena and hazelnut flavors, topped with the signature pistachio sauce. They poured the sauce at the bottom of the cup, and it hardened slightly to create a delicious shell underneath the gelato.
