My friend and I went at 9 PM. This was 15 minutes before their last call. I ordered an expensive ceviche of which I asked them what kind of fish they use. They said they can either do farm fresh or the cheaper kind which is Swai similar to a tilapia, I had to correct the waiter and tell him that Swai is a sub category of catfish not tilapia. I then proceeded to add a side of fettuccine Alfredo to my order of which they did not have so I asked to order the kids size they refused and said that there are no kids at the table mind I say this is last call there's barely any people in the restaurant and we had already ordered a sufficient amount of food. I just wanted a little bit of fettuccine Alfredo. They had to call over the manager and create a big fuss. He said that he did not want to serve us if we were not going to follow the menu rules as the menus have rules. There was zero customer service so much that we got up and left. read more

We visited the Boca location on Saturday with a party of seven to celebrate a birthday. While our appetizers and drinks arrived promptly, the overall service declined once our entrées were served. Our food was delivered by someone other than our assigned waitress, and no one cleared our appetizer plates or checked on us afterward. Our waitress did not return to the table to ask if we needed anything, including refills, despite empty glasses and a crowded table. When she eventually returned to ask about dessert, we ordered coffee and cheesecake. The coffee arrived, but after waiting over ten minutes for the cheesecake, we asked another server to cancel it and bring the check. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, the waitress gave inconsistent explanations and did not take responsibility but did spend most out the night talking to the hostess Additionally, the manager never approached our table, despite circulating throughout the restaurant. Based on the Yelp reviews I had I hopes. Dashed. First, tonight the restaurant was half full and the noise level still measured 85+ dB. Loud with an intrusive bass thump thump via the loudspeakers. If we return it will only be for outside seating. While the service was friendly the food was a let down. The steak in the Tacu Tacu con lomo salisada was tough chewy and over cooked. Didn't give 5 stars because the service was lacking when I came for dinner one evening. Once we ordered a bottle of wine, no one ever bothered to refill the water glasses again. If not for that, all of our dishes were excellent. We shared pulpo anticuchero, embarcadero 41 Nikkei ceviche, and arroz carretillero (which is pictured on the menu with no description). Standouts were the Nikkei ceviche and the arroz. I love ceviche, but sometimes the lime flavor can be overwhelming and the Nikkei was a great reprieve because the soy sauce and ginger flavors provided a nice balance. The fish was very fresh. The arroz is huge and can be shared comfortably between 2-3 people. Many reviews mentioned the sushi rolls but I was disappointed to see that they were all cooked rolls - fried shrimp variations so we didn't order any. No room for dessert but we did enjoy a nice white wine with our meal. Would definitely recommend embarcadero if you are craving Peruvian food. read more

No apologies offered. Just, "ready to place your order?" So I pointed out that he forgot me. Then I got an apology. The manager never circled back. The waiter handed me the bill with the electronic pay service. Awkwardly I left 20% because...he's standing there holding the device. Hey, mistakes happen. But I'm a mom, this was my "night out", so I got dressed up, prepared to have a nice dinner on my own and a little shopping after. This fusion restaurant was wonderful. They've only been open here since October. But they have two other restaurants -- one in Coral Springs and one in Sunrise. Our waiter, Matias said this was the best one! There's inside seating, a large bar inside as well and a lovely patio with umbrella covered tables. The restaurant is designer decorated with lots of little luxurious touches. We knew about Peru and it's Japanese and Chinese populations (the 2nd largest Japanese population in South America) from our Peruvian-Japanese friend Yoshi who worked at a sushi place we used to frequent. Plus the Peruvian husband of a friend who turned us onto chaufa -- the Chinese influenced fried rice dish of Peru. Their menu here reflects these Asian influences. They had a few appealing lunch specials -- at low prices -- but we passed on them. After asking what fish was used in their ceviche and fried fish for lunch, we found out it was tilapia. We don't eat tilapia or swai or Vietnamese catfish -- whatever they're calling it. So back to peruse their menu. They start you out with a small dish of corn "nuggets" that are addictive. So we munched away while deciding what to order. My husband got a poke bowl with salmon and passion fruit sauce. It also had avocado, carrots, edamame, and salad, etc. He chose it to be served over rice. This cold dish was refreshing and he said "very good". I decided on seafood chaufa (fried rice). I asked for no octopus. It also usually comes with a soft fried egg on top -- which I also passed on. The chef was very nice and was able to accommodate my requests. The chaufa was served in a large bowl with shrimp, calamari, scallops, scallions, and fried rice topped with crunchy bits. It was very good. I might have added a touch of soy sauce if I'd thought about it sooner. And the portion was so large that I took half home. So whether you're craving sushi (with a twist) or traditional Peruvian dishes, this newish place deserves a visit. Service was excellent, by the way. And yes, we will return. read more

And the dessert was just heavenly. They have lunch specials and a lot of ceviche options. Most ceviche is made with Corvina The lunch specials are made with swai. I decided to pass on the lunch options because I do not eat farm raised fish. Do you only downside of the restaurant is I wish that the ceviche was made with a wild salt water fish but I understand the cost of food is something to consider to keep approachable prices for customers. My father-in-law suggested that we try Embarcadero 41, so my husband and I came on a Saturday night to see if dad was right. For the most part, our meal was good, but the overall experience was a little disappointing when we got the bill. I felt like we were kind of ripped off because my husband was deciding between a dish on the menu (that was about 20 dollars) and a dish on a separate laminated paper with pictures of a few dishes. One of them was similar to the 20 dollar dish and he asked the waitress to suggest which is better. He went with the one on the flyer which didn't have prices. Maybe our fault for not asking but I was let down with the overall experience because they charged 35 dollars for a rice dish. But I was willing to give Embercadero 41 another try. I returned with my girlfriend to CELEBRATE MY BIRTHDAY ! We arrived and got a table at 5 PM on a Wednesday night. We drank, then we ate and then we drank and talked.... And then the restaurant ruined our night... It's 7 PM and although they were busy, they had plenty of tables open... The waitress came to the table and told us "they have the table reserved and we were already there 2 hours and need us to leave"... If the restaurant was full, then I'd understand but they had plenty of empty tables; we didn't see anyone waiting for a table; and to be honest, "IF" they really had a reservation for THIS specific table then why not politely ask us to relocate to another table; maybe offer a dessert for us to share or coffee for the inconvenience instead of being told to leave. It's not until you try the food and drinks that you really understand what Embarcadero 41 is really about. We ordered the tequenos filled with both aji de gallina and lomo saltado (as a big fan of Aji de Gallina, I have to say the lomo saltado was my favorite of the two), the arroz carretillero, and the trilogia de ceviches. My favorite dish were the ceviches... the fish is fresh, well prepared, and flavorful. We also ordered two large maracuya sours to wash it all down. The drinks were strong and the serving size is plentiful. Embarcadero 41 is great for the person looking to try something new and different. I think I found my new favorite Peruvian restaurant. Found quite by accident actually. I live in Boca but was having a spa service done in Coral Springs. The aesthetician happened to be from Peru. I asked her if she had a favorite Peruvian restaurant and she said Embarcadero 41. She said they had a location in Boca too. When I looked it up and put the address in my gps, it took me to the Publix shopping center on Powerline & Palmetto. I have been going to that same plaza for over a year now and hadn't even noticed it before! Lol Anyway, whenever I do have Peruvian food, I usually get Causa, ceviche and lomo saltado. But this time, I was shocked to see so many interesting rolls on the menu. I decided to try the maki parrillero which was unlike any other roll I have ever had and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! It was awesome! I also decided to try the tequeño lomo saltado. Again unlike any tequeño I've ever had before. The lomo was wrapped in a wonton wrapper and fried. The dipping sauce was an amazing beef consume that I just couldn't get enough of. I'm super stoked to have found this place and the fact that it is so close to where I live will make it easy to come back and try many more items from the menu. read more

After watching "Somebody Feed Phil" on Netflix and watching him eat his way through Peru the wifey was suddenly in the mood for Peruvian food. We came by E 41 which had just opened in Boca 2 days ago and decided to give it a try. We came by and were warmly greeted and seated immediately and right away felt very comfortable as the entire vibe was very positive and upbeat. The decor was modern and beautifully done and there was ample seating indoors and outside. Luis our server was very helpful and attentive and made our visit even more enjoyable. We decided to go family style and stayed with the Ceviche Mixto which was amazingly fresh and Deelish! The fried Jalea (Sea food platter) was also extremely light and right on point. We tried 2 of the Peruvian Sushi rolls, (Salmon Tartar Spicy roll and Teriyaki Entrana roll) and they were excellent too! We shared a Quinoa Crème Brûlée which I would highly recommend! The owner Fernando a very warm and friendly gentleman stopped by our table and checked in on us to see if everything was up to our satisfaction which was the icing on the cake! There is a new Peruvian kitchen in the shopping center on the SW corner of Glades and Boca Rio. I believe Embarcadero 41 has been open less than a month, but our visit today seemed like it was firing on all cylinders already...probably because they have two other restaurants in Broward already. It has a vibrant modern ambience that carries to the covered outdoor seating. Staff is welcoming, attentive and works together like a race car pit crew. Our excellent waiter today was Martín, who suggested an appetizer not on the menu...Conchitas (scallops) a la Parmesan...delicious and a good portion, but at $32 it was the most expensive item of the meal. My wife enjoyed her Pescado con Camarones en salsa Oriental, which again was a good portion with a box to take home. I had the Risotto de Huancana con Lomo, which I thought was too good to not finish at lunch...the tenderloin was a very tender medium rare. We were too full to even look at dessert, but will do so at a later visit. We are not new to Peruvian cuisine and are always open to experiencing a new restaurant. What sets this Peruvian restaurant apart from others in Boca is the vibe and an actual bar inside. I just had lunch here for the first time with my mother. The server took our order and never came back to the table until we asked for the check. The food was really good. The service was not. As a former server, one checks on the table, two bites two minutes. Had she done that she would've known that the appetizer was cold, and we were looking for a sauce to go with one of the fish items. Also I had to go to the bar three times to get my own water. When I asked for a manager there seem to be some confusion, there was the daughter of the owner, and there was another server who says he's in charge.
