By far, the worst "Father's Day" experience I have ever experienced as a Father. I hope to never return. We arrived at 7:20PM for dinner and placed our order by 7:30. Our appetizers came at 8PM but our signature courses (Prime Rib) which the staff tried hard to sell us on, didn't arrive until 9PM. Meanwhile, our 4 year old son is tired and agitated. We gulped down our food in under 18 minutes and departed by 9:20pm to return to our room and to add insult to injury, my wife ordered the prime rib medium well but still came out medium rare. There was no way we could wait another hour and half for them to cook us a remake. We also looked around the dining room and no one else got their mains either. A lady in a large party also voiced her complaint. Eventually the manager came by and was apologetic and admit they felt short of expectations and comped one of our prime rib. But my god, I was thinking that they probably either dropped the roast beef or they forgot to put it in the oven. I can't even remember if the Prime Rib was good or not because I was stuffing it down so fast to get out of there to put my kid to sleep. For some reason I just remember it wasn't as hot like Lawrys but wasn't cold. read more

Every couple of years I get talked into giving this place another shot, and every time I'm reminded why I stopped coming. They don't follow basic cooking instructions, I order medium-rare and it shows up medium-well. The cuts also don't taste like prime, despite the pricing and hype. Our first time at this restaurant and we were very impressed. We went for lunch and sat outside with a beautiful view of the golf course and lagoon with soft jazzy music going on in the background. The food was equally as wonderful. Two of us had their blackened salmon served over sweet potato purée and perfectly cooked vegetables. It was a generous portion of fish that was so moist and flavorful. My husband had the burger and fries that was huge, a bit messy, but very flavorful and the dipping sauce for the fries was unique and delicious. My daughter had the fish tacos which she which thought was good, but didn't seem to rave about them. Plus, our server, Noah, was wonderful... professional, attentive and friendly. This review will be "salty" and not so good, like some of the food. It's not a 1 star because the ambiance was good. We came here to celebrate the wifey's birthday. The croissants were served. They were warm, (which is an improvement from past reviews) but after the first chew, I was swallowing liquid butter afterwards. Cue the stomach discomfort. My wife ordered the Veggie Bucatini. She said it was very salty. I agreed. I ordered the 16oz ribeye medium. I was ready for my life to be changed! Spoiler: my life didn't change. It was rare. The food quality is top notch and the ambience is amazing. There is nothing on the menu that isn't good. We came back twice in one week because we loved it so much. Keshwan was our server and she was amazing. She was very attentive, professional, pleasant and courteous. Keshwan also made very sound suggestions and she knew the menu back-and-forth. Beet and pear salad was unusual but delicious. And that wagyu burger - perfectly medium, juicy, tender. Kimchee sauce for the fries spicy but not too hot. The steak was done exactly as I wanted - medium rare. It seemed it was aged, with a deeper flavor than I expected. Yuzu pot de creme - delicious. Service was attentive but not hovering. Our iced teas were refilled without our having g to get the server's attention. As the sun moved, and it because pretty warm, the server even offered to let us move to another table to get a bit more shade. A+ We sat outside and it was very pleat. Great view of the lagoon. Great menu variety of meat cuts with chicken and seafood offerings as well. You get to pick your own sauce to complement your steak if you wish. Sides are all shareable. Appetizers are mostly intended for 2 people to share while sides are more generously portioned. There were three of us and all our steaks of varying types were cooked to perfection. Service is perfectly attentive. A unique touch is the pick your steak knife presentation. We sat outside for a view of the sunset, lagoon and golf course. Heading into Christmas week and looking for a relaxing lunch on a sunny Sunday. We were warmly greeted by hostess, Jenna, who sat us outside on the beautiful patio with a great view. Our waiter, Noah, was attentive and had great knowledge of the menu and made great recommendations. Starters of calamari and the ceviche were fresh and light (5 star ceviche!). Blackened king salmon (killer squash blossom purée!!) and steak frites were cooked to perfection. Noah's service was superb throughout, never hovering, yet making sure our drinks were always full and we were pleased with our orders. Our highlight was a visit table side by Chef Anthony so we could give him much deserved compliments for the fine work of his kitchen staff. While visiting the resort we were told that Richard Blais was going to be at his restaurant Ember & Rye so we made reservations to have dinner here and get to meet him. First I will say that the staff was very friendly and thebservice was excellent. Meeting Chef Blais was also a very nice treat and she was so humble when talking with us for a few minutes and he was kind enough to take a picture together. This made our experience that much more exciting and enjoyable. We had our waiter surprise us with his favorite dishes and everything was really good and on point. I would say getting a few dishes to share is always nice so you can have a little taste of everything. Its connected to the golf course and is pretty much golf resort friendly atmosphere with beautiful views of the course. I can't believe I waited so long to write a review for this place. My husband and I love this restaurant. We have been here over ten times and will continue to go back frequently. We went here for dinner after we eloped, actually. I wish I had more pictures of the food but we usually devour it as soon as it comes out. Pictured below is the peppercorn crusted ribeye (from 2022 - it is prepared a bit different now), truffle mushrooms, potato puree, and corn crème brûlée. They swap things out on their menu which can be a good and a bad thing. We used to have the option to order two drinks in a smoked treasure chest for $40 but they took this off the menu recently which was a bummer. They also had this delectable pork belly appetizer which has since been replaced with the accessory dish pineapple maple bacon. We've tried a decent amount of items on the menu and there has only ever been one thing we didn't like (it is off the menu now anyway). The drinks are pretty good but we usually bring our own wine and pay the decanting fee (fee waived on Wednesdays). They offer complimentary garlic croissants before the appetizers come out. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The service can be a little bit slow when it is busy but we don't mind too much because we typically sit outside and enjoy the view. The chef cooks the steaks outside so it can get smoky though. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. You will not be disappointed! read more

The service was absolutely NOT up to the standards one would expect. - We were half way through our appetizer before our drinks came out. - We rarely saw/could find our server. The food was decent but again, NOT up to the standards one would expect. - We received 6 tortilla chips with the ceviche appetizer and were then charged $3 for an additional 6 chips. - The sauce on our steak was great but both were over cooked (Med instead of med-rare) - My wife received an off-cut piece of steak that was mostly inedible because even the steak knife wouldn't cut it. When the server eventually returned (long after we had finished, we mentioned the issues with the steak. Not only did the server barely acknowledge the issue, he then asked if she wanted it to-go. The Banh Mi Balls are a have to try! Wow. But the Neptune cut Swordfish was huge but... was swimming in oil. Literally floating in oil. They said it was butter but it was so oily it had to be oil. There was no swordfish flavor and for $74 was a disappointment. Could not eat it. The 16 oz boneless Ribeye was cooked perfectly and the butter garlic was not floating but got absorbed by the steak. Beautiful scenery, beautiful service, and beautiful food. Two friends and I visited this gem set off the golf course at a Hyatt Hotel and had an evening to be remembered. We stopped in on a Friday and drove up from San Diego. The drive was not bad at all as we were going against traffic. First when you walk in you are greeted by a beautiful environment the second you open the door. The main entrance was spacious. There was a piano and old fashioned microphone to your right and the hostess station to your left. Behind the hostess station was a bar that was flanked by ceiling to floor windows which allowed you to get a feel for the view. We made reservations and were seated right away. We chose to sit outside which was perfect on this sunny day. Luckily though they still had heaters and turned them on right away which I was thankful for because the sun was beginning to set. As for the food by far the best bite I had were their Garlic Croissants. I don't really know how to explain them other than to say you must try them which thankfully you will as it is served complimentary. We then ordered several starters. We were a group of three and most of the starts came with 2 items. Thankfully, they allow you to add an extra item and they charge you for only that additional item. We had the Stuffed Squash Blossoms which were tasty yet very flora, and the short rib Jalepeno poppers just okay in my opinion. To drink we had The Albatross which was tasty, and the Smoking Ember which was very tasty! I'm not a fan of Mezcal so I asked for it with Tequila which was great that they accommodated. For mains we had the Wagyu Hamburger with Triple cooked Fries and the boneless ribeye. The Burger was absolutely nothing special. I ate half of it and that was because I felt obligated to do so. I've had much better Wagyu burgers for far less in price. The triple cook French fries were the main reason I ordered this as I LOVE French fries. The fries were...wait for it... over cooked. Whomp whomp... They really should've stopped at double cooked because the fries lost their potato all together and ended up being just crunch bits. I didn't order the ribeye but did get a taste and it was really tasty. We ordered several sides. The Spicy Chinese broccoli tasty but plating was whomp whomp. Grilled Carrots were recommended but honestly I could've done without them. Crispy Onion Blossom, was very similar to that cousin from Outback. Potato purée, I didn't have this as I had those triple cooked fries but I had a little taste and it was creamy and tasty. Stopped by here for a date night dinner with wifey and it was a exquisite experience! This spot is located at the Park Hyatt Aviara and there are free parking spots right outside the restaurant. Reservations are highly recommended! Once you walk in, you'll be greeted by the hostess. You can choose dine inside or outside depending on which tables are still available. They have a great menu with a wide selection of drinks, appetizers, and entrees. We got the avocado tartare, hassleback sweet potato, snow crab fettuccine alfredo, and the ribeye. Overall, everything we had was delicious and it the atmosphere was intimate and romantic. All the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. After our appetizer came we sat and waited and waited for our entree. When they came my wife's crab and lobster bucatini was luke warm and the lobster was chewy and over cooked. My entree of a tiger shrimp and filet were delivered completely cold. After a while we flagged down a server and sent back my plate. They exchanged the food and my steak was very good but the shrimp was over cooked. Dessert was a big disappointment. Not much taste and very bland. I've been waiting to try this restaurant but it was expensive for a lackluster meal. We never the mgr but they comped two drinks. My husband recently brought me here to have a special dinner before I was having a major surgery. It was not only one of the best meals we've ever had, but our service was incredible. Jenna took care of us from start to finish making every part of the meal special memorable and meaningful since we had such a large life thing happening in the future I recommend going to this place cause you get to pick your own steak knife for one.
