This is probably my favorite pizzeria in cape cod. Actually, no scratch that it definitely is my favorite pizzeria in cape cod. Hands down. I don't write reviews often, this is actually my first review in about 3 years but I feel the need to try and shine some light on Embers considering the not so good reviews it seems to have received. For about the past 5-6 years or so every-time I visit cape cod we visit embers and it never disappoints. It is what you sign up for, you know the deal before you go there. Long waits. Rarely any parking. Overpriced food. Outdoor seating. But ... it is always delicious and I say that with multiple visits experience. The wings are tasty and have a variety of options, the salads are great, and the buffalo chicken pizza is to die for and is extremely tasty. If you prefer your pizza more crunchy make sure to say so while ordering and get it well done, but otherwise you receive an extremely thin paper like crust with a variety of tasty fresh ingredients that compliment the pizza well. You have to decide if you are willing to go through the embers experience the night you choose to go there. You know what your getting yourself into. But is it worth it? Yes in my opinion it is and I have never had any truly bad experiences there such as the other reviews have stated. My only complaint would probably be ( non specific to embers in general, it seems to be a Massachusetts thing ) these restaurants seem to not know how to move customers accordingly. In mid town manhattan you will experience less wait times at far busier establishments. Restaurants on the cape good ones atleast tend to 9/10 times have ridiculous waiting times. Other then that. I have been to embers multiple times and the eat in food is great! I have tried to get take out and like it multiple times and it's just so different! I think they use old pizza from earlier it's cold looks old and the flavor is different. This has happened multiple times. I am all for supporting small businesses during this time, but it frustrates me when they don't have the same quality for take out. read more

So I was really looking forward to some good wings and pizza and saw this place. I mean the sign says pizza and wings right on it, but when the food came the only thing with flavor was the wings and even then I would have only given a 3 if that's all we had. The pizza was not good no Flavor the location was dirty inside not to the point of discuss but cleaning up crumbs for the day before would have help. Service was good but that's about it. Would go back until they change management and hire a cook the knows what flavor is. read more

We called and ordered a small pizza and a sandwich for pick up, we were told about 35 minutes. We went to pick it up at that time and the place was packed, so they said probably another 15-20 minutes for the pizza. We finally got it and got home and it was probably the worst pizza I have ever had. I couldn't even finish one slice. It was as thin as a tortilla with barely any sauce, lots of cheese and a very strange taste to it. My husband's sandwich was edible at least but nothing to write home about. My wife, 4 month old daughter and I arrived around 2:30 and asked for a booth as there were 3 of us. The host said they did not have any booths available but had a spacious 2 person table with plenty of room for the baby seat, which would be ready in a couple minutes. There was no wait and the bar area was about half empty, so we figured we picked a good time to come as it wasn't busy at all. When we went to our seat and entered the dining room it was 2/3 full and there were 4-5 empty booths. The spacious 2 person table was in the corner and our daughter would have to be on the floor in her baby seat in the middle of the walkway, where as we walked up to the table a waitress was standing and placing food on the table next to us. We asked the host why we couldn't have one of the many open booths and he said he would have to check with his manager. He came back and said they could give us a booth and he pointed to 1 which had dirty plates on it and said it would be 6 min to clean this one. Mind you there were 4 other open booths already cleaned and ready for service but we said that would work. We stepped outside the dining room to get out of the way to wait for the booth. About 10 min later I heard the host say to the bus boy he needed 2 tables cleaned in the bar area for two parties that just walked in. After 15 min of waiting and multiple other tables being cleaned and the booth we were waiting for untouched we asked to see a manager to inquire why we couldn't just sit at the many booths already ready. The host said the manager was in the back and busy. After another 5 min of no activity and just standing there we decided to leave. As we were leaving the host yells out "Oh your leaving" in a very condescending tone. Unfortunately I wish I had looked at the yelp reviews as the poor customer service seems to be more of a general theme then a one time occurrence which is what I thought when we left. As I read other responses on here it seems as if family's are not really welcome and from my experience I would have to agree. My daughter was asleep the whole time we were there so I know she didn't cause any problems. read more

This restaurant is very wonderful to be at.The food here is wonderful and the service is even better. I had an amazing waiter named Jonathan. He was an amazing young man with great service. I have a interesting story about my experience. I left a pair of fairly expensive Maui Jim sunglasses at my table and didn't realize that I left them until the next day. I went to Ember right when it opened and walked to the front desk and told the woman there my problem. Then my waiter Jonathan walked in and I told him what happened as well. He looked through the lost and found and.... BAM!!! He found my $300 Maui Jim sunglasses. I have three things to say about this restaurant...... 1. Give Jonathan a raise because he is such a great kid and he deserves it 2. Go here with your friends because it is a great meeting spot 3. It's an honest establishment and the service is great This restaurant will make your trip to the Cape better and will make you smile! I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Food was very good. But we have an unresolved issue. We had gone to the Port the night before and received a 10% off for Ember. We told the waitress ahead of time, but when she tried to ring it in the register she didn't know how. Her manager suggested comping a cocktail and adding a beer instead. What they ended up doing was adding another cocktail ($8.50) and comped that and added a $3 beer. When we noticed the error back at the hotel we contacted the manager who said he'll take care of it. Didn't happen. Called a few days later when we were back home, he insisted that it was already taken care of. I know it was only a few dollars, but really. read more

They really have messed up our order every time we've gone- about four times now. I'm a vegetarian and love the blueberry pizza so we always order it without prosciutto and every time we receive our pizza it has prosciutto on it, as well as that I came to pick up an order today and was told it was never placed when it should have been ready when I arrived! Lastly, an employee tried to convince us they didn't have any kind of blueberry pizza and that we wanted the fig and goat cheese pizza- interesting the staff aren't even aware of the menu especially such an interesting and well known item as the blueberry pizza. This place sucked. Our pizza took forever to arrive and was cold. Frankly it was the worst pizza Ive had in a while. It was like eating cardboard. I also have a dairy allergy and asked for no cheese. My pizza had cheese on it and after a long wait, it had to be remade. I always try to be understanding of wait staff but this treatment was just unexcusable. We didnt get checked on once and didnt have one single water refill. Also when I mentioned there was cheese on my pizza the waitress said "no there is not" when there clearly was. Finally, when putting our cards in to pay we were given attitude for wanting to pay with more than one card to split the bill. The pizza that had to be remade wasnt taken off the tab, and the bill wasnt split equally because we were told after that they didnt take someones discover card. Could they not have told us that? We would have used another card. Overall this was easily the worst restaurant experience I have ever and as a new Harwichport resident I will never return or recommend Ember to anybody. read more

If i could give zero stars i would. We got two pizzas tonight to take home and they were inedible. They both were thrown away. The dough was undercooked, floppy and tasteless. i wish i could say it was just that it was undercooked but the sauce was not good and overall the flavor profile was just bad. Walked in at 5:15PM. Was told about a 35 minute wait. Ok. Totally understandable. What wasn't understandable is that we sat and looked at 4 vacant tables from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Ordered. Took 25 minutes to get a boneless chicken wing appetizer. Waitress brought them over. She was very kind and doing her best. Definitely a hard worker. We were told that all of the dishes and silverware were in the dishwasher and were handed plastic forks. Again, its not fine dining so I wasn't offended. Finished the first app (which tasted like it was microwave burned) and then waited about 20 minutes for the two other apps we ordered- waited another 35 minutes for the pizza and asked to have it to go in the end because of the long wait. Pizza was average at best. Again, totally understandable that these places get slammed this time of year- but if you ask me, they are understaffed and have bit off a bit more than they can chew with regard to how many customers they can seat versus how many customers they can actually serve. I don't think the kitchen is equipped to handle the amount of tables/customers. A horrible experience and waste of a beautiful night. read more

Amazing outdoor eating experience. Loved the fire pit and the heat lamps. Food was excellent. Chicken, bacon, ranch pizza delivered to high expectations. Great service .. After a long trip we decided to try Ember. The place looked nice and we were seated promptly. We then waited for twenty minutes with​ no one asking us if we wanted anything to drink or any recognition at all. Customers were all served and we tried to get the server to even talk to us and she ignored us twice. The place wasn't even that busy We left and as we walked out, it was like we were invisible. Pros: The bruschetta was absolutely delicious. The other apps and salads on the menu looked interesting too, but that is the only one we ordered. Cons: It truly seems like they do not know how to use their "1,000 degree oven." Thin crust pizza is great, but their thin crust pizza is kind of soggy and almost seemed undercooked. All three of our pizzas were even a little cold on top! If someone taught the chefs how to use the oven, it would solve all of the problems. Thin crust, coal-fired pizza should be hot and a little bit crispy! Additionally, they seemed understaffed because there were many open tables both inside and outside, yet there was a 1 hr 15 min wait. We sat at the bar. read more

Fun spot for great flatbread style pizza and other dinner items. We were hoping to sit outside - great fire pit, live music, etc. but the wait was too long. They told us 45 mins inside and 90 mins for outside. We chose inside and were actually seated within 15 minutes. Fine with us but from a restaurant management perspective, not so good as we saw a couple of people come in & leave we suspect because of the long wait time. The pizzas we got were decent. We tried this place for takeout. We had a STEAKBOMB PIZZA, a GLUTEN FREE PIZZA and PULLED PORK NACHOS....The Nachos were great and but for them we would have gone hungry. The STEAKBOMB was a basic veggie pizza - NO SHAVED STEAK but that was our fault for not asking if the STEAKBOMB had steak on it? Anyway, not a problem with the steak but this was the dryest pizza we ever had. The crust was made from sawdust, it was gross, undercooked and the worst pizza we have ever had. The sauce, welll, there was so little sauce you couldn't tell. Basically, this pizza ended up where it belonged - THE TRASH. The GLUTEN FREE crust was black and burnt to a crisp. Again, the grossest GF pizza we have ever seen. One of our party has a GF allergy, very bad, and always orders GF...This thing was disgusting and accompanied the other pie where it belonged - IN THE TRASH. So we all shared the Nachos which were very good...so, go for Nachos but this is the worst PIZZA on the eastern seaboard. read more

One of the worst overall dining experiences I've ever been apart of. not even sure where to start. You know things are going well when another table is on their feet ready to flip the table in anger for never getting their food Or maybe when the wait staff tells you simply just to pick up and leave without paying because they know the shit show they are unfortunately apart of. My thoughts go out to the pizza chefs who are clearly in over their head to no fault of their own, I hope they find a nice job after this disaster of an operation. Where in the hell is the management ? It was chaos ! one Hour when by...where are the wings. waitress runs in grabs a cold order and dumps on table ( 3 apps were ordered one random cold one showed up). Sent back wings ice cold. I swore I would never leave a negative review, knowing how hard a business it is. the pizza was burnt tasting and black around the edge, which can happen with coal fired pizza. but char from the oven bottom is different. the pizza ta sted, when not over powered by burnt flavor was similar to what could be purchased from the freezer isle of your grocer. the facility was nice looked like a great place. i see the owners put the money into it but it was dirty lots of flies both house and fruit flies. service was fine. it was a slow Wednesday early day evening visit. read more

Nice atmosphere but unbelievably unorganized and poorly managed. The hostess and seating system was archaic and not trustworthy. Your name and number on a notebook and they would call you. My family of 3 sat in the bar area for over 1 hour. After not hearing from the hostess, I approached them and asked how much longer. Oddly she picked up menus and sat us and never asked for my name from list or anything so what was point of feeling like we were on a list to be seated. Totally understand this is during COVID but for the second week in a row we have called earlier in the day for wait times, they say they can't take advance orders (totally fine) but that they will be able to take the orders later no problem. We call later and the kitchen is so backed up they won't even take more orders for hours. So frustrating....pizzas are great, management is lacking. read more

Year round Cape resident here. Always see crowds at this place, so I had to try it. I consider myself a good judge as I was a restaurant owner from upstate NY and I am an Italian. Only had a pizza, so you can't really judge a restaurant by one type of food. good points: Different than your typical pizza, for sure. Pizza was good, not great. bad point: service for takeout was a mess. they need to separate the hostess station from the pickup point. This place is too busy to try to manage both of those tasks together. It creates a line near the entry with a mess of people waiting for tables, pickup customers, and exiting people.Unfortunately my pizza came out well after it was ready because of that. read more

This restaurant was a real disappointment. The out door patio looked so inviting and the crowd of people waiting to get in made us think that it must be a great place to eat. the menu looked delicious. Wrong.....we were a party of 7, with 3 little kids. We waited 20 min for our drinks, then waited another hour for our pizzas and salads. Salads were average but the pizzas were burnt to a crisp. The manager was completely unsympathetic that we had waited so long and our pizzas were burnt. He said that they were supposed to taste like that because they were cooked in a wood fire oven. He was very reluctant to adjust our bill because our starving kids had eaten some of the burnt pizza. This place was not worth the wait at all. Such a bummer. read more

The food was tasted good and would have been much better if it was hot but the service was terrible! Our are appetizers came out cold, we waited for quite a long time for the appetizers and for our entrées. Our entrées were lukewarm at best. We complained that the appetizers were cold and the waitress said "oh sorry to hear that we have new people training in the kitchen". No offer to take them back, to comp them, to buy a round of drinks, nothing. I'm pretty sure the people training in the kitchen is not an excuse for anything coming out cold, and frankly it's not my problem that people are training. I'm paying for a product regardless if someone is training right now, so I would like it to be the way that expect it. Also we ordered two cheese pizzas for the kids & she only brought one out & said "whoops that was my fault...I can put the order in now" which of course it's too late at that point. It's too bad bc it's a cool atmosphere outside and the pizza was good except for the temperature. Sadly we won't be back bc it will only get busier as the summer progresses, and if you can't handle it now when it's not quite the height of the season, lord knows how bad the service will be during July/August. 2 of 4 pizzas had the corn meal burned. The crusts and ingredients were fine, but burned flavor permeated both pies. When we told the server, he shrugged and said he'd tell the cook. No offer to re-make them, no consideration on the bill. Lackadaisical Service, we had to flag him down 3 times. We've been here before and it was delicious. We think the kitchen must not be fully wiping down the pans between pizzas and that contributed to the burnt taste. read more

Came here twice on our Cape trip and had a good time. You can't beat the outdoor space/seating here. The bartenders were great and there was a solid bar menu to choose from. The pizzas were good (but not great) too, we got buffalo chicken, Hawaiian, and made our own. Our favorite was the buffalo chicken. One small pizza was about the right size for a single person, however, you may want to take some home and save some room for Sundae School next door. It definitely fills up every night so come early. read more

Should have trusted all the negative reviews. Called mid-afternoon to place a pickup order and they had no record of it when we arrived. WTF. Waiter was apologetic and offered to remake our order (3 large pizzas and 2 salads) in 15 min which I appreciated. But then we got home and they had gotten the order wrong! We'd ordered a pizza with mushroom and pepperoni in addition to a sausage-onion pizza and they gave us two sausage-onion pizzas but no mushroom pepperoni one! read more

As we were about to leave, the hostess and our waitress were gossiping quite loudly about us saying how "rude" we were and how much of an inconvenience we were. All because we asked to sit outside when there weren't any tables available (we ended up waiting patiently for one to clear up). The only reason this restaurant even gets a 1 is that the food was decent. The service was terrible. The manager was rude and disregarded us when we asked if he could check on our ONE pizza after over an hour of waiting. This place has such potential with its location but the manager does not know how to run a restaurant and is extremely rude to both his staff and paying customers. Would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone who expects good service. I feel sorry for the staff that have to work for him. Will never go back. read more
