My landscape irrigation pipes were completely clogged by roots. I had called a big company specializing in drains. They came out and looked at them and said they would have to go under my concrete to clear them and didn't think that was a good idea. On top of that, they surprised me with a $60 fee to check out my situation (5 min.). A close friend had reached out to Jason at Emergency Plumbing and Drains when she had some drain problems and she highly recommended him. I reached out to Jason and he was quick to respond. I told him about my situation and in 2 minutes he told me what my problem was and what was required to fix it (a medium - large hydro-jet). Jason did not cover my area (South Carlsbad) but gave me an excellent referral for someone that did - Jeremy and Bobby at Drain Solutions. They were extremely responsive and worked very hard to clear my drains from these enormous roots that had clogged the pipes. Jason is like the plumbing messiah. He came highly recommended from a business owner (the 5 star reviewed Clifton Mercedes Service) that use him for their personal properties and their business. His repertoire of equipment and knowledge of the craft are stunning, he even has specialty tools of his own design/drafted in Solidworks software and made for him by CNC machine shops. We have a three story residence that required a lot of fixture upgrading/attention. He worked for 4 hours here very quietly aside from his machinery and ... I could clearly hear him running up and down stairs between tasks so as not to waste a minute. Whenever he spoke, it was always to convey relative and useful information (no BS-ing) and without asking, he gave tips to avoid more plumber calls/intervention and DIY information. His work was spotlessly clean sans any debris field. Before the appointment, he went over things to prep for his work to save us time and money. I have never seen a plumbing contractor ever behave anything like this/extremely capable AND ... HE LOVES AND IS EXTREMELY PASSIONATE ABOUT HIS TRADE !!! This is an absolute first in my book. I had read a bad review on Jason before calling him, but since we were referred to him by a plumber we trust who was too busy, I thought I would give him the benefit of the doubt and try him. This was a BIG MISTAKE! We had a gas leak and our Gas meter was turned off and locked by SDG&E until we had it fixed. We called Jason and he was suppose to arrive the next day. I had called and left him a voicemail explaining in detail not to follow the GPS instructions to our house, as they would lead him to another housing developments gate which he could not enter. When he arrived for the appointment, he calls me and says our name is not on the gates list of home owners so I said let me call my wife to buzz you in. It turned out that he was in fact at the wrong gate (the one I told him not to go to). I tried calling him back...no answer. I texted him....no answer. I ended up calling him no less than 14 times with NO ANSWER, and texted him 6 times between 3:58 and 4:42. This moron doesn't know how to follow instructions or answer his phone. He finally texted me that he was on the phone with a family emergency and had to leave. I seriously doubt he had a "family emergency", but I gave him the opportunity to get back to me for 2 DAYS before writing this review, and he hasn't bothered calling me back. I owned a business for 35 years and know how to treat customers. In reviewing all the other bad reviews he has (after the fact) I would never have called him. We had a leak in our lower level garage. Our regular plumber was not available, but recommended Jason. He responded very quickly. He did a great job diagnosing the source of the leak as coming from a broken pipe in the garage wall (and thankfully not from an upper floor bathroom). The fix was very difficult because the wall was concrete, but he did an excellent job. He has a very well equipped van that rivals many hardware stores! Jason came to our home for two reasons - to replace our shower cartridges/balancing spools, and more importantly to find the leak in our front yard (under our fairly new artificial turf). He gave us his initial thoughts, then we had the turf company come out and pull the turf back so Jason could fix the leak. When Jason came to fix the leak he explained that the previous work was not done correctly (incorrect materials, stress on the pipes, and poor soldering). This is our second time using Jason, and it won't be our last. I consider him our new go to Plumber. Jason was introduced to us by our Realtor. He came out and did a camera inspection on our new homes sewer line, along with a plumbing inspection. He presented us with a USB drive that had the actual video from the inspection. Jason was very informative, knowledgeable and just really nice. We had him back out yesterday to perform the repairs found in the inspection. Jason did quality work and finished in the time he had promise. He has now given us a quote to install a new double vanity, we found the quote very reasonable, and we know he will do a good job. Too bad someone chose to judge Jason off of what they say was a road rage incident. Always (3) side to a story and only (1) side on yelp. I would never try to damage someone business because of this type of incident. Yelp is for business review, not road issue. Possible someone just had an off day. THANK YOU JASON! I wish I had called you first! The other plumber I found on yelp, totally screwed me over. I know quite a bit about plumbing, but I was out of town and had to call this other company when I was out of town to go by our rental place to fix faulty shower valve. I told that plumber it just needed to change out the cartridge. When I got back into town, the shower valve was leaking from the handle and I ask him to come back out since if I was going to pay for something, I should get what I paid for so I didn't touch it myself . When that plumber didn't want to come back out for a few days to fix the faulty installaion of the shower valve that he did, even when I told him it was leaking and causing water damage, I knew I was talking to the wrong plumber. So I remember I had a number that was referred to me. Jason came right out and noticed that this other plumber never changed out the cartridge and showed me that the old cartridge that the other plumber tried to pass off as a new. He fixed my leak and while he was working on the valve replacement, I ran a bunch a questions by him and watched him and he knows what he is doing. I I HIGHLY RECOMMEND JASON. read more

We had an important question that only he could answer from his previous work on our house and he NEVER called me back after many, many calls and texts. OMG. I can't believe the reviews this guy gets. If I could give him 0 stars, I would. A year ago we moved into our house and had problems with the toilet in the master bath. This was after Jason came out and did the pre-purchase plumbing inspection and said the plumbing was fine. I guess he meant it was fine to fatten his wallet. When the problems arose with the master toilet, Jason said it was the toilet that was inherently a bad model. (Of course there was no mention of this during the inspection so we could get a credit from the seller.) To make matters worse we had the same toilet in another bathroom. So as eager new owners we decided to pay Jason to replace them both with the thought of just being done with it. Wishful thinking. The problems with the master toilet persisted so we called him out again. He claimed the fill valve on this new toilet which was still under warranty was broken. He replaced that, charged us for a service call and told us that Toto was a great company and should reimburse us. Hah! When the problems still persisted, we called this rip off artist demanding he come out and fix the problems and he never returned our repeated calls. I'm writing this review after taking a break from plunging my toilet -AGAIN! I can't emphasize enough STAY AWAY FROM HIM!!!! read more
