She went to put our drink order in and we thought she was going to come right back to take our food order. About ten minutes later she returned with the drinks and then took the food order. I think if you advertise a burger as 'Mushroom Swiss' that's all that should come on it. My burger had mushroom and swiss, and pickles, and onions, and mayo and tomato and lettuce and mustard. I didn't ask for any of those things; I ordered a mushroom swiss. Scraping the mustard off, hand picking the onions out of the cheese, and praying the pickle juice hasn't soaked into the bun yet isn't exactly what I had planned for my dinner. Perhaps a little warning that those things come on the burger automatically, so I can request that they do not come on mine, might be welcome. This is NOT the Empire Burger you remember. Save your money on the burger. They are paper thin and crispy well done. (the thickness of a Kastle Burger...then they stuff lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and red onions so much that when it comes out it looks ok. Well if you want a salad with minimum meat, that's what you get. Oh yes a big buttered bun. So you get a mouthful of salad, bread and a taste of meat. My regular (basic) cheeseburger and small fries with water cost me $15.00 without tip....go there on your own risk! Just sayin.....I probably sent at least 500 people there IN THE PAST. I got the kuno burger with onion rings. The burger was above average tasting , but goddamn it was greasy. I had orange streaks half way down my forearm on the 1st bite. Onion rings were a bit cold, and came with a choice of dipping sauce (12+ choices). I'm sure the rings would have tasted better if they weren't at room temp. Drove to Breckenridge for the day from Keystone. The town is nice and has plenty of shopping. Our group of nine (two families) decided to eat at Empire Burger. We were greeted by the hostest and asked for a table for nine. She indicated the wait would be 15 minutes. After 25 minutes I checked in to see how much longer the wait would be...and she told me just another 5 minutes as she was waiting for one big table to finish. The table had quite a bit of food to go...so five minutes seemed unlikely. I noticed two smaller tables empty and asked if our group could be split into two tables, to which the hostest replied " my manager will not let me do that". So, I said that we changed our mind and we were now two seperate groups of four and five people per group. "Sorry, I can't do that". Frustrated by this, I noticed six seats open up at the bar. I promptly sent our kids (5 of them) to thoses seats. This clearly upset the hostest and bar tender...who told us that children could not be at the bar without an adult. Fair enough, we occupied the sixth seat with an adult. The team at Empire finally succumbed and let us sit at the bar. Within a few minutes, three more seats at the bar opened and we all sat together. The bar tender, Vince, was not rude...but not friendly. He seemed overwhelmed. At one point he told us that "we prefer not to have kids at the bar because we often use foul language". Nice. Once we ordered, the food came quickly and was pretty good. My advice...take your order to go, eat on the curb, and save the gratuity. Service = poor Food = good Price = good read more

This place has great burgers and fries and really hits the spot after a day on the slopes or after a mountain bike ride. But to my dismay not many gluten free options here, only a salad and burger without the bun. Would up this to 5 stars if they had gluten free buns and made gluten free fries and probably go back to bringing the family here once a week! Great meal. My wife and I split a burger and cobb salad. Both were great. My son, who is a difficult eater (to say the least), declared that his chicken fingers were the best ever. This was by far the worst service I have ever had. My party had a server tell us to "move... this is not a meeting area" while waiting to be seated in the very crammed restraunt. Also made half of our party get up from the table we were told to be seated at due to half of our party still being outside In the -4 degree weather die I the previous situation of being unable to stand inside and wait for our table. The small amount of our party that remained by the time we spoke to a manager and was seated was very uncomfortable during the whole meal and could nt enjoy the mediocre burger. As a visitor to the city of Breckingridge I would suggest a more friendly restraunt such as Eric's. read more

DON'T GO IF YOU HAVE A BABY!! NOT A BABY FRIENDLY PLACE! RUDE STAFF!! we read on the door that no strollers were allowed in restaurant, when we walked in with our SLEEPING baby in the stroller and inquired to the hostess about what we read on the door she said it would not be a problem. We were seated and the stroller was placed in an area that was not in the way of anyhing or anyone when a rude employee told me I had to take the stroller outside. When I informed him that the hostess said it was ok and there was a sleeping baby inside he said he did not care. I told him ok then we won't be eating at your facility then since I wont put my baby outside in the cold and he said fine. OUTRAGEOUS! So rude. No one should be treated that way. While planning our vacation some friends recommended this place to us. I'm so glad we did. We ended up eating dinner there twice in our week long vacation. The food was delicious with tons of options both including burgers and not. Their dipping sauces for sides were amazing. The zucchini chips with ranch are a must have. They were amazing and crispy served with a creamy ranch sauce. Our waitress was very nice and funny and even remembered us when we came back a week later.
