This is a staple of my family's whenever we come here and we visited again today. First off, the burgers here are great. Probably the best in Breck although I haven't been to every single burger place here. The service is sub-par; if you're lucky you can get a decent server; today we didn't get a very friendly one. Oh well. Standard in a ski town. Fries are good and the dipping sauces are all very tasty. My biggest gripe is the beer selection. Very bland and non inspiring. My girlfriend and I got stuck on Vail pass and after hours stopped on the side of the road made our way back to Breckenridge. It was late, but these guys are open til 1am. It really hit the spot. We had the classic burger and the guacamole and bacon burger. Both were awesome. Came with a side if fries and they have an assortment of dipping sauces. We had the green curry and the parmesan and pepper sauces. The green curry sauce was a winner. Highly recommend. As a family, we have an ongoing quest to find a great burger place, so when we were in Breckenridge this summer on vacation, we needed to check out Empire Burger...and we were glad we did! In fact we ended up going back a 2nd time the last night of our trip because it sounded so good. I suspect the burger rating depends on what you like and what you order - they have a lot of choices...so I suspect at least some of them wouldn't be as good. I had the bacon burger and it was excellent. The fries were good...but the dipping sauce (and all of the many choices of dipping sauces) were probably the highlight of the visit. We ordered for delivery after a long hike in the morning so we were waiting for our food while we showered and got ready for our second half of the day. We ordered at 11:11 and at 12:05 they finally began preparing our food. I understand being busy but it should NOT take that long to just begin making an order. I ordered a chicken green chili sandwich no ranch and no onion and it was made with beef and had ranch on it. The other burger and fries that we ordered were alright at best. The burger was good. Chicken nachos were horrible. If you can't stand when they put the cheese and everything on the top only to find a mountain of just chips under it, then don't get the nachos. Restaurants need to learn what layering means. The cheese was kind of nasty in that once it cooled, you had to rip it apart. You could literally pick up all the cheese at once. Only reason they get 3 stars is for their food. Burgers and fries are fantastic but the customer service was rude and the beer was over priced. We ordered an appetizer that took 30 minutes to get which we were told they put the wrong sauce on them and had to remake them but our waitress who obviously didn't have any hospitality skills didn't tell us that until after two tables near us who arrived after us got their food. We came here 2 years ago many times and they were good and I would be sad if they lost a lot of business due to their mess ups and customer service because their food is quality. Just left this place, and would not come back. The food is mediocre, but I would like to explain the customer service we got because that is the only reason why I'm even writing a review. I'm used to bad service here and stuff being overpriced, but this was pretty bad. Our server was Andrew, a server that is "too good for school", a server that does not mention that this burger joint doesn't serve fries with burgers; which would be ok, since I probably didn't read that on the menu, plus it's an upsell. But maybe I would order them if he ever came back after he dropped off the food. Or maybe we would order another round of margaritas (margaritas that he didn't even check our IDs for). I am livid. First time visiting the restaurant. I waited for over 40 minutes for a salad and a hamburger. There were 4 tables around me that arrived AFTER me and they were already eating when I left. On top of it, I asked to speak to a manager and no one came., We had ordered a soda and some apps... when we asked for a bill they had the gall to charge us for it. After I had complained about all other tables being served before us. I knew from the moment that I sat down that the waiter was going to be terrible. Never again, I refuse to give them my business in the future. And its pretty unfortunate considering I am a local and I work in an industry where people constantly ask for restaurant recommendations. Don't go to Empire Burger with children. We went to this restaurant at 5:20 on a Friday evening and, as a party of 6 (2 adults and 4 children), we were told that the wait would be 50 minutes. We decided to wait and get drinks at the bar. We were told that the children couldn't be at the bar and we were trying to stay out of everyone's way so we tried to wait in a hallway. We were then told that we could not wait in the hallway because we were getting in the way of the servers (it didn't seem like anyone going to the bathroom was told to stay out of the hallway). After waiting a bit, I went to ask the host where we were on the list (it looked like there were a bunch of empty tables), he said that there were 3 tables of 6 people ahead of us. The manager, then came over. He had the rudest, meanest attitude of anyone that I have ever encountered in a retail establishment. I asked him where he would like me to wait with my children and he had no suggestions, he told me to wait just like all of the other people. I told him that my children are not allowed to wait in the bar and he told me that that was not his problem. He told me that he could ask me to leave if he wanted to.
