It is not a fancy restaurant but I can say the food was actually good. The food really taste like Tex Mex, and the prices are not bad at all. Here's the deal- despite my 3 star rating, I actually love EYM! It's definitely comfort, go-to for us. You have to get a frozen marg first of all (but limit it to 2 because they are strong!!). Other menu items I highly recommend is any of their enchilada dishes and their fajitas. Ask for fajitas on the skillet always. And secret tip is that you can also ask for the mild sauce with their complimentary chips and salsa. The one they bring out is always way too spicy for me. As for the 3 stars, this place needs a remodel for sure. I get that it's a great "hole in the wall," but sometimes when seated in the corner or by a window, I just have to say nahhhh. Sign doesn't ever work, memorabilia inside is outdated, and the table and chairs are kind of torn up. A clean up and this place could be so nice to bring new people to! read more

We have been coming to Enchilada's Y Mas for a couple of years now, I would typically order the beef enchiladas but the last time I got them they just weren't the same. Lately I have been getting the carne guisada and I love it!!! Strong margs never disappoint, Boyfriend loves their fajitas, they have a smoky flavor to them that you can't find other places. It's always fast to get our drinks once we are seated and chips and salsa hit the table quick! I'm leaving 4 stars because I was disappointed with our recent visit this past Tuesday. There was an automatic gratuity added to our receipt for our party of 2. Typically, I wouldn't mind had they told us before, since we have been here so many times I usually trust what's on there is correct and I ended up leaving over $20 tip after leaving my own on top of the gratuity I didn't see added. This place was packed on the recent weekend afternoon I had lunch there. I was excited as I love good Tex-Mex. Service was very good, but this is a very shabby place and wasn't very clean. Sorry, cleanliness, even in a dump is something that greatly adds to the appeal of food. The chips and salsa were good although we asked for and got a milder salsa. The regular house salsa was a bit too hot. I had an enchilada platter and they were good, but not great. My friend's fajitas were tasty but the meat was a little on the tough side. I stopped in the bathroom before leaving and it was really nasty looking. This is one of those 'hole-in-the-wall' dives that you hear about and have to try for yourself! I'm certainly glad I did! They have the best enchiladas!!! These are the kind smothered in American cheese and chili...so much so that you can't tell where the beans and rice end and the enchiladas begin lol! Is there any other way? I also enjoy the guacamole and the salsa... which is HOT as hell! The queso is very plain and just ok, but the margaritas, though small, pack a punch! I'll be back... Well I had high hopes based on pictures and menu, but here I am writing this two star review. It's a small place with little parking. The place was packed though. We had a 15 minute wait and the table they sat us at smelled like beer. We ordered enchiladas and fajita nachos. The winner was the beef fajita. It was charred and tender. The issue I had with the enchilada plate was the brown sauce. It was more like American chili. My hubby did not like the American cheese on the enchiladas. Also, the beans and rice are extra and do not come with the plate. For 3 of us it was over $80 which is overpriced considering taste and ambiance. If you don't give this place a 5, please quit coming. It's a neighborhood joint with great margaritas and amazing Mexican food. The food is a three, the drinks are a five, and so I'm rating Enchiladas Y Mas right in the middle at 4 stars. Ambience- no one comes here for the ambience. It's a run down old building, with cheap chairs and tables and not a single piece of decor. But it doesn't matter! It's not trying to be anything that it's not, which is a hole in the wall, divey joint with straightforward, cheap, good mexican food. Drinks- careful everyone!! Those margaritas may be cheap, but they are STRONG yet delicious, meaning you have no idea how much they're affecting you as you down two in quick succession and go from zero to drunk in what feels like 10 minutes (speaking from experience haha). They clock in around $5.50. An amazing price for a margarita with that amount of punch and super refreshing! Food- it's no frills Mexican. Is it a taste sensation? No, not at all. My enchiladas last night were desperate for some salt. However, when you factor in the portion size and price, I'll go there any day of the week. The enchiladas are great (typically), I recommend the sour cream sauce. I've had their flautas and tacos, solid. And the Comida Mexicana combo plate is "Your choice of a taco or chalupa, two cheese enchiladas covered in beef sauce, guacamole salad, rice, beans"...a RIDICULOUS amount of food for the grand total of $11. Meanwhile, we're paying $11 for a plain Caesar salad at the "foodie" places around the city. I love this place. Just note- there is a tiny parking lot, but you can park on the residential streets around. There is ALWAYS A WAIT (but you can drink while you wait!), and it's very noisy inside because it's always packed. So not the place for intimate conversation. read more

Went tonight to eat at Enchilas y Mas with family. Was the worst ever tasting fajitas. Have been going since it open but the last few times the quality and taste has been disappointing. Told waiter Miguel and he refused to take them back. The margaritas top shelf were also watered down. I will be looking for a new place to go. Do NOT visit during covid pandemic. Restaurant was taking almost zero precautions. I had ordered food for pickup and almost turned around when I saw the jammed parking lot and people waiting outside with no masks. I put on an extra mask and dashed in - there was plexiglass around the register, but NO social distance and every customer was unmasked. If you know the joint, it's quite packed with tables and low ceilings and stifling in normal times. Will NOT be going back. Some friends had been bragging about Enchiladas Y Mas for some time so the wife and I had it on our bucket list. I was starving mid afternoon so arranged for us to go here after work. The building is somewhat of a run down old building, possibly originally being a Dairy Queen in 1980 - 1990. Parking lines down the neighborhood street for a couple of blocks when the parking lot is full, of which every possible inch utilized. At 6:00pm on a Thursday afternoon there is already a wait. It is 97 degrees outside July and the house is packed and the kitchen is in high gear. The AC can hardly take the edge off, but with the ceiling fans cranking the temperature is at the higher end of tolerable. Not to fret too long at the room temperature however, because when the chips get to the table, the salsa will put a little sweat on your brow to cool you off! LOL. If the salsa is too hot for you, get a frosty frozen margarita or piña colada to cool to off. It seems dinner rush might get an early start here by a happy hour. The salsa is a fine grind of tomato, peppers, and spices. Very good with some moderate heat. The guacamole is spicy as well with rich flavor of garlic. The Chile con queso at first glance is a thin cheese sauce, but there is an abundance of rich chili flavor in there. The portions are generous. The Ingredients are fresh and taste and look like good quality. The lettuce is a little wetter than i would care for, but it is not distracting. The tostada shell is crisp under the tasty bean, then piled high with lettuce and tomato. It eats surprisingly well. The rice is a good texture and adequately flavored with onion and bell pepper. The chili sauce on the enchiladas is dark, rich, and flavorful. Ask for extra onions when you go. The people that work here are very pleasant and every single patron is flat having fun. The food is inexpensive and a real value when weighed against the flavor and seeming freshness. On our way out at 7:00pm, the wait was even longer with more and more people lining up in the summer heat for a Tex Mex meal at Enchiladas Y Mas. Went based on a recommendation from a friend. Arrived at 7:25 and the place was packed. We were told it'd be a 40-45 minute wait. Got seated at 8:30 after watching people who walked up after us get seated ahead of us so that wasn't ideal. The staff were friendly, but they got 2 drinks and 1 of the meals wrong. Rice, beans and margaritas were the best part of the meal. I was told the chicken tasted like it was canned (def not fresh) and the beef enchiladas were okay. I've been going here since 2001 and its by far my favorite place to get enchiladas anywhere. The chili con carne sauce is hands down the best in the world. In combination with using easy melt American cheese, each plate is baked to golden perfection, every time. The sauce drips over onto the rice and beans making it classic Tex-Mex. Get the Comida Regular plate and the lovely wait staff will swiftly start you with a fresh crispy beef taco over flowing with fresh lettuce and tomato as the perfect appetizer. HORRIBLE mean management. My paid my bill up front so I wouldn't have to pay. I asked the front desk person if I could pay with ApplePay if the tab went over. I also asked if i could charge my phone with my cord so I could pay an overages on the bill. The manager said NO WE DON'T charge phones. I sat down and made sure I paid $20.
