I have been a fan of enchiladas. He asked for a very long time. Today I ordered the chef special, but his two tostadas with queso and on the tostadas one has beans. The other one has beef or chicken. I've ordered this many times today was offered fajita chicken with it. It was so delicious. I can't believe I missed out on all this for so long! But then I got the bill. I had no idea that it was almost 6 dollars more to get fajita chicken versus regular chicken. What a rip! I should've been told about the app charge instead of it being offered with no indication of the up charge. I could've just ordered chicken fajitas and it would've been about the same price. So that up charged with a shocker plus add your tax and tip on it and lunch is no longer affordable at enchiladas y mas. read more

Some of the very best enchiladas in Austin! The salsa has a great kick and the chips are always fresh. They also have an extra spicy salsa version that is available by request. The beef fajita taco a la Mexicana is delicious. Ask for it by name....I don't think it is on the menu. They get really crowded during dinner, so expect to wait a bit. I ordered the carne guisada and it was so flavorful and tender. The refried beans are also super good here. I was craving Mexican food so my partner picked this place. Pulling up, it didn't look very nice in the outside but to my surprise, there was a ton of business inside, so I expected there must've been good reason. The chips and salsa were pretty good, but the enchiladas were standard imo. I was a bit shocked that the rice and beans were extra and cost $3 so I didn't get them which was a mistake. I hate a mixed review but that's what I have today. I will almost definitely visit again because the mixed fajitas nachos were delicious. The enchiladas with chicken were lacking flavor and originality though. They have a big menu, so I'm sure you'll find something to like. There's plenty of staff in this no frills restaurant. There is nothing fancy about it, pretty much the opposite, but it is just like your grandmas house when all the family comes for dinner. It's chaotic, loud, but you know the food will be amazing. I ordered the small queso and it was very good. The chips were crispy, salty and still warm. I had a large frozen margarita and that thing is dangerously good and very strong. For main, I had the beef enchilada that comes with refried beans and rice. The plate comes piping hot from the kitchen, so be careful, but it was amazing. This is your typical tex mex food - cheesy, greasy, sizzling. I think the food is pretty average for tex mex and don't have complaints. The salsa was fresh and so spicy, I really liked it. Atmosphere is a hole in the wall complete with flickering light over our head, it was a bit distracting. The waitress was so friendly and upbeat it was a nice experience. Everyone at the table ordered margaritas, which were delicious. We also each ordered our own enchilada plate, which was so inexpensive and came with a ton of food. I love enchiladas and Mexican food in general, and I thought their enchiladas were perfectly cooked and the meat was perfectly seasoned. I also love their rice, beans, and salsa. Probably the best, most authentic enchiladas in Austin (coming from a San Antonio native)! And the prices are incredibly fair, considering the typically overpriced TexMex places that are ample around Austin. I arrived just around the 6pm dinner rush on a Friday evening, and it was about a 20 min. wait. They run pretty efficiently, and we were seated in no time. So this review is coming from a HUGE FAN of enchiladas y mas! I've been coming here for the past 12 years easily! An amazing hidden gem of a restaurant, so when I say it hurts me to write this review truly it does! Me and my family come here to eat atleast 2-3 a month. Never had any issues. Ever. I ordered a fajita salad. I ate the guacamole on the outer side with the chips, and then started eating the salad all mixed together and noticed the meat was really cold. Like not cooked all the way. So I gave it the benefit of the doubt and took a few more bites, when I noticed the meat was just cold, I asked if there was a way to possibly re make the salad. I was told no because I had finished the whole salad already basically. I asked what could be done and they said they could bring me a fajita taco out so I could put some meat and mix it with the cold meat. By the actual owner. I was legit hurt because this is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. Truly.
