I live SO close, and REALLY REALLY wanted to like this place. I took a friend here for breakfast, and I ordered the biscuits and gravy. Nowhere (to my recollection) on the menu did it say it had onions. The waiter brought our food, and there were onions in the gravy, the waiter said "oh you haven't touched your food, is there anything wrong?" and I said "Oh I can't eat onions" he responded..."oh...ok" and walked away to grab our check. Granted, I should've asked before ordering, and should've just said "I'm allergic to onions" rather than" I can't eat them". I was going to order something else and just bring the leftovers home to the boyfriend, but the waiter's indifference really rubbed me the wrong way, and I left in a bit of a huff, and because of that, I most likely will not be returning. read more

We went in with a group of ten. The service was fine, our waiter was very charming and friendly, but the food... not so much. I think four of the ten of us was actually pleased with their meal. Had a late lunch with my daughter today. Server was pleasant but he forgot my salad and also my wine. There were only about two -three other tables occupied at the time...not very busy. When another server brought out our food I tried to cancel the salad but she said "it's over there on the counter...." hmmmm. Maybe they thought I ordered it for dessert? I finally got my glass of wine more than halfway through the meal. The house salad was a small bowl of Romaine with 6 croutons and some dressing. Nothing else. $6!!! My daughter didn't finish her MacnCheese because it was terrible. $11!!!! And my grilled cheese sandwich on a plate with chips was just a grilled cheese...nothing special. Love the neighborhood vibe of this place! So happy we found out about their Sunday family fried chicken dinner. When my parents came to visit we went 2 weekends in a row! We had the breakfast burrito and the waffles. The burrito was really good and recommended. The enchiladas sauce was so tasty! The waffle was pretty good. A bit plainer than I'm used to. Usually get whipped cream and berries with it in Canada. Got waffles butter and maple syrup. Overall though it is recommended. Maybe get the peach add on. I love Endolyne Joes. This is a West Seattle Staple. Yes some of the dishes are hit or miss but breakfast is not one of them! Best Eggs Benedict I've ever had and I love the new potatoes, seasoned crunchiness on the outside and mashed potatoes on the inside. Try the Ham and cheese waffle, it blows my mind! One of the things I love is that the fruit is always ripe. I'm a fruit eater. Good coffee too. If you love fried chicken, this is the place. The pulled pork sandwich is delicious as well. They have a rotating menu each month they explore a different cuisine from around the world. I was they twice a week when it was Brazilian. So it's worth checking in each month to see what's new. read more

This used to be my absolute favorite restaurant 15 years ago, but it's really been hit or miss in recent years. The last two times we went were terrible. The first time we waited for a table for over 30 minutes because the host said he didn't have a 2 person table available. I understand this to an extent, but there were other 2 person groups seated at 4 person tables when we arrived, so I don't know why we were singled out. It was also frustrating when a few 3-4 people groups walked in off the street and were seated immediately. Once we were seated, we waited forever for our food, our waitress never checked on us or apologized for the wait, and then tried to rush us out with the bill. However, our food was ok (not spectacular, but not bad either). It was more the service that really ruined the experience. Still, I wanted to give it another try and took my mom there for brunch today. We were seated immediately, but then waited forever for our food AGAIN. Our waitress walked by our table several times but didn't check on us or see us when we tried to flag her down. The restaurant wasn't busy. It must have been a 30 minute wait on our food, and all we had was french toast and a salad! When it finally arrived (again, with no explanation or apology about the wait), my french toast was terrible. I don't even think they soaked the bread. It was literally thick slices of dry, dense bread with a bit of caramel and whip cream, on a plate with no syrup or butter (I did ask for these and the waitress brought them right away). Not worth the $13 it cost. My mom had the cobb salad, which she said was good but again, not worth the price. We never did see our waitress again and had to flag another staff member down for our bill. Based on our experience today, I would have given Endolynes zero stars, but I'm giving them two stars for nostalgia. I will probably give them another chance in a few months, just because they're a neighborhood institution. I really, really hope they can get their mojo back! read more

I visited Joe's for the first time last night after living in WS for 4 years. I was meeting someone new. I liked the decor, it's a cute cozy place. I waited at the bar for my friend, ordered a drink. He arrived and got a beer (they were out of what he wanted) and we chatted for a while. Then I got a cup of soup and another drink. The soup was great! So all is good except for one thing. I didn't like the server. I felt the server was trying to rush us out the door because we didn't order a lot of food. She chatted with my (date) a little too much for my comfort, but that wasn't the big issue, the big issue was that after I had two drinks, she asked if we wanted any more and said to me "you're really sucking them down". Geez, I was embarrassed. Please servers, keep your comments about your guests drinking habits to yourself!!!! I kind of felt weird and the experience was rather bizarre. Ok..been there before..good fried chicken..nice cool staff..not bad drinks( martini for 9.50 a lil'much), but last night the food was lacking.First they were out of fried chicken at ten of 7pm and the steak, i order the chicken special with pancetta which came out tasty but with one..i am not exaggerating one tablespoon of orzo and 1/2 a leaf of swiss chard as it accompaniments, now i have been around kitchens all my life and thats just not cool. 16.00 bucks for no sides.you guys have to look at what the line is serving and if thats what the owners want , let people know!!Like I said the service was great and the waitresses tip did not in any way show my dissappointment at the food. We've been coming here since 2003. At first we loved it, it was awesome to have a great restaurant and bar to walk to, and the revolving menu meant we didn't get bored. But over the last couple of years it seems to have gone downhill, and we find ourselves driving all the way to the junction to get decent food. There seems to have been some sort of business shakeup, and the service people have all changed. A few nights ago we went for dinner and my husband had chicken that was clearly not cooked all the way through - not only was it red at the bone, but the meat was sort of translucent. The server whisked it back to the kitchen and returned it, declaring " the cook says its just a blood vessel, it's cooked all the way through". Really. Maybe she imagines that we've never cooked a chicken before in our 50 years. That was the end of that meal. The food and service has become so spotty that we decided we won't come here again for dinner unless we're desperate. The happy hour is good though. It's a pity, I miss having a place to walk to. read more

I ate a late breakfast at Endolyne Joe's. I ordered the Brazilian Linguica Hash, and when it arrived, it was a gooey mess of overcooked potatoes, tomatoes, and linguica sausage chopped in it. On top were two miniscule poached eggs. I didn't know that anyone bought small eggs anymore. The flavors of the hash and eggs were unbalanced. Garlic predominated, and with the seasonings unbalanced, one could not taste the eggs. The texture was undesirable. I expect a hash to be drier and have some crispy elements to it, but this tasted like it had been on a steam table forever. I suspect that the staff do not ever taste this food, because anyone who knows anything about food service would know that this dish was vile. The service I received was adequate. But the low quality of the prepared food was enough to make me promise myself that I would never go there again. read more

I will never be back for your boring food and terrible service. Way to make everything worse. It's bad enough that I had to find out that my bank disabled my debit card because of fraud when I was trying to pay. But the way your staff reacted was less than helpful. I asked if someone could pay with a debit card over the phone, but you made me drive home, get said card, go to the ATM, and drive back to pay for the food that clearly wasn't worth this trouble. And to rub it in, you made sure to write down the info from my ID like I was some sort of criminal. I am the victim of a crime. It's not like I came to rip you off. I offered choices. Years ago I loved Endolyne Joes. It was the place I would have breakfast and work on my computer so long that I had to order lunch! Lately it has been more and more disappointing. I thought we just had a one-off dinner a couple months ago, but our recent meal was worse. The portions are HUGE, which I don't love. I'd rather they be smaller with more flavor. The prices are pretty outrageous for the medium quality that you get. We ended up spending $70 for a salad appetizer, kids mac n cheese, a bbq sandwich, and a cauliflower risotto. The appetizer was okay, a root veggie thing. Also, not quite balanced in the flavors. The parsnips were tiny cubes and the beets were huge, but I'm being nit picky! The bread on my sandwich was just... a basic blah hoagie bun. The special that night was an organic wild caught salmon, which I was perplexed by. How can a wild salmon be organic? You don't know what life that salmon lived! Maybe that is a thing? It just struck me as odd that those were the selling points of the fish. Most seafood places we go would describe it as a "wild salmon with lemon aioli and roasted asparagus". I don't know why it was jarring for me that it was being promoted as though we were at a fish market vs. a restaurant. Organic wild salmon, $28 a plate. Too risky for me when it's a special (something they don't make all the time, and potentially aren't great at making) I know I can get a phenomenal salmon elsewhere for the same price. The atmosphere was off, and the staff were stressed. I could hear conversations between them that were quite tense. My husband and I view this as our go-to spot here in West Seattle. The great thing about Joe's is that while the left side of the menu features their amazing regular offerings the right side changes every month or so! The "festivals," as they call the rotating side of the menu, feature foods from a specific region (usually). They decorate the restaurant according to the current festival which always makes for a more entertaining experience. Great food, great atmosphere! What more could you want? read more

Quality ingredients, great recipes, well executed, and the regional theme rotation keeps the menu fresh and exciting. I'm a bit of a foodie and this is one of my favorite places to eat. Them hash browns are the real deal (shredded and everything). My queasy stomach couldn't stand much more than oatmeal & toast. Boring you say? Nuh uh. Amazing. I love the rotating festival menu and the regional classics are solid. It's a fun menu that will please everyone. Great for groups! Grabbed brunch here a couple weekends ago. When we first moved to Seattle we were told this place is the place to go for breakfast. Surprisingly there was a really long wait when we got there. They seemed understaffed and unconcerned about all the open unbused tables with the long line of customers waiting to be seated. We probably waited 20-25 minutes. For breakfast we ordered the Hamorama Scramble, all day breakfast, blueberry cakes and the Cajun Country Benedict. The scramble was very good and didn't skimp on the ham! The All day breakfast was good and they really do give you a ham steak! The pancakes were gigantic but very good. The benedict was not great. I wouldn't order it again. I thought the hollondaise was going to have a nice good kick to it, but it was ice cold and had no flavor to it. The crushed red potatoes were hit or miss. Some were really good while others were not. They were all perfectly cooked, however they put WAY WAY WAY too much of the spices on them (which made them too salty and dry from the rub) and some of the potatoes were giant whole red potatoes! I think I would go back and try other items on their menu, but wouldn't get the benedict again. read more

Sometimes the service is slow, but that's to be expected when it's packed to the gills. One of my favorite brunch spots in Seattle. This restaurant is in a quiet part of West Seattle, close to Lincoln Park, and serves up a delicious breakfast. The rotating regional menu usually hyas something fun to offer, and the permanent menu has some hits as well. Most impressive is Migas - a Mexican breakfast scramble with Chorizo, sliced tortillas, eggs, peppers, and cotija. Yum. read more

I went there for the Sunday night chicken dinner meal. I took my wife and my cousin/ her husband and baby came. My wife and I ate the chicken meal and loved it! Good classic side dishes come with the chicken. Mashed potatoes, gravy, carrots, big biscuit. The best thing that this meal has over Spring Hills chicken meal (talking about the old meal, not the current one there) is the price. Another great Chow place. It definitely feels like a local's place since you don't generally trek to West Seattle for a meal. However, a few times a year we get the urge and drive a half hour to satisfy it. It's got a great old-wood feel. Our favorite is breakfast. I have been here a few times, mostly for brunch on Sundays. Nice, Strong coffee, good food, decent prices. The service is hit or miss. Sometimes they are really fun and seem like they are enjoying their day, other times they couldn't be more bored or depressed to be working. Most of the good and bad you've read about Endolyne Joes is true. If you live in West Seattle it is convenient and you will be back like it or not as we were the other night. However, this time everything was right on across the board. Good service and food. Maybe dinner is just the better time to go as both brunch meals had issues.
