My complaint centers primarily around the complete ineptitude in completing the final inspection, which took around 9 months from the actual install. The inspection failed 4 times. Was it because the inspector kept finding new issues? No - it's simply because the issues pointed out by the inspector were not resolved by the time the next inspection happens. The pattern went like this: - Inspector clearly communicates what needs to be fixed - Solar Savings Direct send out a contractor 30 minutes before the next inspection and doesn't resolve the issue (and in some cases was unaware of the scope of work needed to be completed) - Inspector then fails the inspection again. Rinse & repeat I called the city and talked to the inspector myself. Very reasonable guy. Was very clear about what needed to be done and was not asking for anything unreasonable. I eventually had to drag in the CEO of Solar Direct to get the issue resolved. Additionally, all of the INDIVDUALS from Solar Savings Direct were reasonable to work with on a personal level. Support team, techs - all great individually, no complaints. But the core issue is that the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing, and the result is that a simple process drags out months and wastes countless hours of your time. The people on the ground are great. The inspection operations/management staff should be fired for incompetence. I have to give Solar Savings Direct / Mars Home Solutions 1 star because a routine inspection should not take 9 months, and all of the failures to pass the inspection were completely self inflicted due to management incompetence.

I feel like they helped us make the right decisions through the whole process, especially for system size to be able to keep our NEM1 status. The new roof looks great and works really well. I waited almost a year to write this review to make sure there wasn't any water intrusion during the winter storms - not a drop anywhere. They were in the mid-high range in pricing on the bids we got, but I'm happy we spent a little more went with them. Can a roof be sexy? Ours sure is. This was not suggested or shared when installing the solar, perhaps they knew that would be a hard no. I will need to have new pool solar installed and repair my new roof. I was told that installation had been completed earlier in the day and that the inspection would proceed as planned. - On December 23, the inspector showed up. Excite did not. I called Excite multiple times and couldn't get anyone on the phone. I emailed and could not get an immediate response. The inspector left. Heath eventually called me and I learned for the first time that: (1) installation had not actually been completed, even though I had been told otherwise; and (2) the inspection should have been postponed, but wasn't. Heath took no ownership for the miscommunication about my project completion, the fumbled inspection, or my project generally. He would not commit to a firm plan or timeline for completing my installation or having the inspection done. - So 2+ weeks into a 2 to 3 day installation, my project remains incomplete. Other than my brief call with Heath, throughout the process I haven't been provided proactive updates about the prolonged installation time, updated timelines to completion, or really any pertinent information. The job site was also left unkempt on a day to day basis.
