So I went to take my daughter to get her hair done here. I called and got a price of $85. I even called the day before to confirm the price. All she got was blond highlights. No haircut or anything else. We went here cause it was cheaper then the place we usually go. I go to pay for my daughters hair and she tells me it's $160!!! I'm like the lady told me $85? Thats a big jump! This has NEVER happened to me before and I've been going to salons for years getting my hair done! I'm a single mom and my daughter really wanted to get her hair done before school but I only had so much money so I told her to find a cheaper place to go. Big mistake!!! read more

Had my hair cut and colored today. It looks amazing and so happy I came in and saw Erica because it was a hot mess before. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars though. When I was in an elderly lady was having services as well. Turns out everyone knows her as she has been seeing them forever. Apparently they pick her up and take her back home after she is done as she can no longer drive. They even provide services for her that they no longer offer. How sweet and amazing is that! Disappointing service with Mandi. Arrived on time to appointment for a root touch up and bangs trim. Dye was applied and I was left in a chair for an hour while she worked on another client. I will never go here again. I went here to see a certain stylist, Haley, whom I said seen 2 other times before and it turned out ok. The third time I went to see the stylist I told her that I wanted my hair brighter, almost white, and a little shorter, like shoulder length. She seemed excited. Mind you, she had already put bleach on my hair prior. We start off with a cut since she said it would make my visit cheaper. Next, since I was going for a gorgeous blonde bayalage, she said she needed to reapply the bleach. (I thought maybe a toner would have done the trick but I am not a stylist) She reapplied bleach to my hair, put the wrap on the layers and when she was done told me she was leaving to grab a bite to eat. Prior to leaving she placed a heater over my hair. OVER AN HOUR LATER she came back and made the comment that she never heard the dryer beep and they usually do. I told her the heat had been off for a while. After the shampoo, we sat down in the chair and I was very hopeful! I was sooo wrong. My hair was falling out. I am not joking. I pulled at my hair and it just broke off. As she brushed my hair, my hair was coming out in clumps. I started shaking and asked if this was normal. She tried to assure me that this is what happens when girls go really blonde. I got what is known as a chemical haircut. My hair felt like straw. I went home and was in tears. I visited several different stylists who told me that 1) she either did it on purpose or 2) she has no idea what she is doing. They all said the same thing... you NEVER put bleach on top of bleach and leave it under a dryer, let alone for over an hour. That is a no no. Not to mention that I spent over $300.00 to have my hair ruined. I am now going to a new stylist who fixed my orange roots, chopped my hair to my chin plus layered it and all she could say was "I'm so sorry she did this to you." PLEASE BEWARE of going here. No stylist should leave bleach on your hair that long and should not leave the salon while you sit under heat with bleach on your hair. *sigh* read more

I had a cut and color here....I was lured in by a Facebook post of $59 for cut & color. I was excited but geez I left in tears!! First of all, the price is starting at $59, so when I was done I ended up spending $156 and it was not worth it. I had to tell the stylist to stop cutting my hair. I asked for a trim, my hair was shoulder length to mid back in layers. When I left, my shortest later was at my chin and rest of hair just under my shoulders. Again, I only asked for a trim. She went on about how amazing their products are, the high quality, blah blah. It's not the product that makes the hair, it's the stylist. I'm sorry but I spent $200 + to fix my hair after my visit there. read more

I got a cut and color yesterday. It was just okay. VERY spendy for what it was. I'm not thrilled with my haircut that makes me look 12, and the color is much redder than I wanted. I don't think I'll go back, mainly because this is the second time I've been there and each time I've been barraged by a sales pitch for products. I don't know if there is a commission involved or not, but after spending $100 on my cut and color, I sure don't have another $100 to spend on expensive salon products. I followed Paige from Aveda (where she went to school) to Ensemble and am so happy with my decision. Aside from her friendly personality and ability to really connect with her clients, she does a great job! I've had her do a number of different cuts on me that have ranged from basic trims and adding layers to somewhat drastic cuts where she took off nearly 5 inches and added bangs. I've always been pleased with the final cut and she's very receptive to what I'd like. I completely trust her judgment when it comes to what she think would look good given my hair texture, my personal style, and my face shape. Her schedule is also very flexible which I appreciate since I work two jobs and often can't make "typical" hours. She's a great find, I'd recommend her to anyone! read more

I love this Salon! I have always been treated very well at this place and the stylist I see has been very attentive and listens very well to what style Im looking for. I highly recommend seeing Tasha Greenhaw at this salon. She does full service, hair, color, style, facials, wax...you name it. My favorite is getting my eyebrows done followed by a soothing facial. Scheduled an appt with Somer a week ago for my daughter. It's her birthday and she has been looking forward to this all week. Very upset to see that Somer took a walk-in 15 minutes before our appt, and then left us sitting in the lobby for 35 minutes. No greeting, explanation, or apology - nothing. Will not be coming back. Update: Ensemble called (and emailed) to try and make things right. Offered free service and to work around our schedule. Ensemble is a very fun, clean, modern salon with great stylists. I always see Mandi and she does amazing color. She is always sure to let me know exactly how much it will cost to do what i want to do, and always uses color swatches to make sure we get the perfect color. Shes great with haircuts and will give creative ideas...or match any picture you bring in. I never feel rushed but she is always on time and knowledgeable about all products she uses or recommends. I went with a friend to ensemble today because of there great deal for cut and color $59. After the experience I had, it is safe to say I will never come back again. My friend had Mandi and it was such an uncomfortable and unprofessional situation. When we first started she seemed bubbly and friendly for like 5 minutes. After brushing it out and parting she informed my friend that her total would be $180 even though when they talked about it, it was supposed to be $59-80. Not once was a number over $100 mentioned. When told that was out of the budget she said she could do it for $104 and had a very rude and unprofessional attitude. She started being short and silent. She also made it very obvious that she didn't like what my friend wanted done to her hair and was very rude about the whole idea because she didn't think she should have dark hair because her grow outs would be bad. (Any opinions is nice to an extent, but when you continuously "advise" your client not to do what she wants gets kind of rude annoying). Another thing was that while my friends hair was processing she sat against the wall and began talking not very nicely about us against the wall with her coworkers. I also had good intentions of making my own appointment because of how great of a deal that was offered. I have been looking around for good deals and this was the best one I had seen. I was extremely disappointed when I saw how bad the service/ no listening to the client was. All in all this was an awful experience and it is safe to say neither of us will ever be back. read more

The atmosphere is relaxing and the stylists are very professional. They are flexible scheduling appointments and I love that I can get a last minute appointment if needed! Disappointing experience. Overpriced IMO. Haley asked what we were doing today. I said I need to be "cleaned up" and usually have my hair "intentionally messy". She asked what size trimmer blade for the sides. I said "oh, I think it is a two." The Word think might have been a clue for caution and to start with a bigger number first. She asked how much to cut off the top and showed me about a quarter inch. I said I'm not sure you're the expert. Well, I guess that last statement gave her complete liberty. She took most of my hair off and completely changed my hair style from a semi-conservative, professional look to something that I've seen twenty-something, hipsters wear. I'm 50-something, trendy but not hipster. My hair is no longer intentionally messy. It's now all combed precisely forward with a small tuft of hair in front. My bad for trying a new salon that was conveniently close instead of making the 15 minutes trek to my specialist at the Barbers. If you are looking for a unique salon cut from someone who takes charge and does it her way, fine. Just go in eyes wide open with no expectations of getting "cleaned up" and keeping the same style. The good news is, I'll be back to my normal within the month and visiting my Barber. read more

One (owner) was actually yelling and then when she hung up proceeded to rant about her conversation. Overall feeling was chaotic. First off, I hate hair cuts. I avoid the hair dresser like some avoid the dentist. My hair has always been one of my biggest problems. It's baby fine, oily, damaged and really just blah. To make matters worse now I'm in my late 30's and started seeing severe hair loss a year ago. I've been trying everything to get my hair to grow and it's been very tough! I have started to see growth but I needed a short cut that suits me in the mean time. My friend highly recommended Erin so I booked an appointment. Erin listened to me and made recommendations that would work the best for me. She also offered product suggestions (but didn't push them on me). The cut was great... actually perfect! I left with my confidence so high! She not only did an amazing job but was very supportive and caring! I made a follow up appointment which I never do so soon because I know I want to see her again when my hair grows so she can help me choose my next amazing cut and wow me with her talent. I went to Ensemble on a Saturday because I had purchased a groupon for a brazilian blowout. I thought while I was there that I would try a hair color at the same time - my hair was more brunette than I preferred as I am a red head. Haley assured me she could add some appropriate red tone. Unfortunately, the result was WAY less than desirable. She applied a red/blue to my roots (which looked bright burgundy) and a red/orange to the rest of my hair (which came out well enough). When I pointed out the different colored roots, she seemed confused about what had happened so added brown dye to the roots. I had already been at the salon for about 4 hours and Haley (despite not knowing what was going on) was very sweet and I didn't want to cause too much trouble and thought I would wait and see the result after a hair wash. Well, the result was hair with 3 different colors!!! Burgundy roots on the top, BLACK streaks at the temple, and red/organge hair on the rest. It was AWFUL! I was leaving for a romantic getaway on Tuesday and since the salon was closed on Sunday and Monday, I had to get a hairstylist schedule an emergency color correction on my hair. Had my hair just been a shade I didn't prefer, I would have waited until after my vacation and requested Haley fix it - but I couldn't wear it back because of the 3 obvious different colors. The worst part of my experience is that I called the salon and left a message for both Haley AND the owner to discuss my experience and potentially be refunded for my troubles but nobody called me back. I will not be going back to this salon and would warn anyone against doing so. Sweet people, but lacking in color skill and professionalism. read more

I went to this salon because I purchased a groupon type promotion and it was the worst salon experience I have ever had. I've never been to a salon where they charged extra for toner and the appliances were terrible quality. I wanted highlights and the end result was nothing like the picture I brought in and my hair was barely cut in the front. They scheduled me with the master stylist without asking if that was a preference so it ended up costing me an extra $45 dollars on top of what I already paid! And my scalp is a red/orange color from the bleach she said she had to put on my hair so I could achieve the color I wanted. I ended up with something that was an orange/red. I have dark brown hair naturally to give you an idea of what I ended up looking like. I said it was way too red so she put on more toner so darken it and that barely even made a difference. Do not go here! I was so unhappy with the color that I went to the store I and bought box color to fix it. Such a waste of money. read more
