Well for some reason I decided to try budget rental car rental and boy was that a huge mistake.... We had reserved a car 2 months prior fir our trip and also prepaid, and they didn't have any cars. They stated they only had full size trucks and we were going to downtown chicago. So they told us to wait until some type of vehicle gets returned @ 7pm at night on a Friday. Well we knew that wasn't going to happen. So after at least and 1hour we went over to the enterprise counter and spoke with Antonio. He said he could take care of us but we would have to make a reservation online. So we went to our phones made one for a simple standard size car and they took care of the rest. After waiting on budget for about 2 hours we were upstairs in a couple of minutes and picking out our car. Upstairs we told Bruno we were wondering if he had any other SUV type vehicles and he pointed over at the Chevrolet Trax. I said if it's newer I'd take it. I then asked what the up charge would be and he said there wouldn't be one he just wanted us happy. We sure were the Trax is small and rode a little rough, but was awesome on gas, and fit anywhere in the city. On the return of the vehicle the gentleman took a quick look at and in no time we were heading to the bus for the terminal. What a painless process. I don't think I will rent from anyone else when I come to Chicago ever again. Thank you Enterprise for saving our trip!! read more

The staff was amazing. Both the man helping us to grab the car after a long and late flight, as well as the nice young lady who took the car fr us when we returned it. It was a seamless process and they run this location more smoothly than a lot of others we use. Enterprise is our agencies affiliation corp that we have to use and so we have been using them for over 20 yrs for both work and non work related trips. We look forward to using this location again. We and some hiccups upon pickup but the saving grace is ENTERPRISE and Morgan T who works at this location. Our flight was cancelled twice. Edited the drop off time to align with our latest change and there was a $7 fee. Our flight was ultimately cancelled after Delta airlines re-routed us. Yeah. Nope, no bad weather just horrid issues that didn't align with getting us home the same day. Asked to find a non-stop on their partners but of course it's via ORD. Called the number Enterprise provided because you can't change location online on this rental. Young guy says .. no fee. New contract sent. Well, I had to call Delta to accept the alt route and when I finally checked the new contract for Enterprise new drop location ... It's the same contract as before. I emailed the Midway contact because I can't call. I send along our new itinerary and get a reply from Morgan that there is a fee but they'll waive it but I'll also lose my 15% discount from this rental. The itemization was t provided and there's no number to reach the local counter. Well, I called corporate again and was told wow that rep couldn't change anything because one of us can as it depends on the local counter. Help us all. Emailed Morgan's response saying no thank you on the offer and I cited the young man told us ABC. I didn't just make it up. Called the only number they give and asked for the recording from 12 and please update the process to learn that it's not instant. A supervisor has to pull the call,it gets transcribed then someone will follow-up. I was pleasantly surprised to see Morgan's response email saying the young man I spoke to was Tyler and explained how he couldn't make the change but it's being honored. I didn't yell or get upset with anyone Nonetheless I'm happy they prove why I've maintained my relationship so long even when I pay a bit more from time to time. Although they don't have tap and pay here (star deduction) and they don't offer the same prepaid gas rate as checking in online (wild) they do recognize service matters. Kudos to Morgan and Tyler and the reps on the 800# As I genuinely did all I could to get my situation resolved between multiple parties and my family can get to work. Nope, no one likes delayed nor cancelled flights but it helps when everyone. Works together to get the resolution without added costs. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM HERTZ AT MIDWAY. RENT FROM ENTERPRISE INSTEAD. I made a reservation to pick up my car with Hertz at Midway at 11:45 pm. Tried to check in at 11:56 and got a message saying that I couldn't check in because they closed at 11:30. I went to the front desk where the attendant told me his "system" was down and there was "nothing [he] could do." The threat of being left stranded meant this was the single worst customer experience I have ever had in my life, not to mention that hertz later attempted to charge me a no show fee. I had to try two other rental car companies before I got to enterprise, which was able to rent me a car within five minutes. Much better service and much more helpful. We picked up a 2022 Jeep Cherokee for the duration of our business trip in Chicago. A few days after driving the car, the car had a malfunction; the power steering went out. I called Enterprise customer service to notify them of the issue and they immediately set me up to swap out the vehicle. On Google and Yelp, the Enterprise operating hours are incorrect for this location. They close at midnight instead of the posted hours. But besides that, the swap was super easy. I've rented cars nearly once a month the last year or so for work travel and I can say that this was the best rental car experience I've ever had. From being greeted & quickly checked-in by Quentin to the Rav4 car inspection by Kayla to the car return & traveling well wishes by Albert, every single Enterprise representative at Midway was personable and professional. A few years ago our family had an incredibly negative experience with Enterprise [Westheimer Shadowbrier location in Houston, TX], which is still unresolved. So far our experience has been very disappointing. Been waiting on a call back for 2-days now. Left messages several times and also called other numbers just to try and reach someone at this location. I have a reservation and am trying to make arrangements for the pickup. Apparently I can only speak to someone at this location (this is what I am being told). I will have a follow up review and I hope it gets better. Really went above and beyond with service as I was juggling traveling with two small kids -- helping with car seats, assisting with finding a luggage cart on the return, and selecting a car with ample trunk space. Love a good fast and friendly service especially here at Enterprise. This rental was not too far from airport and you can take the shuttle there. Due to Covid restrictions, they don't let more than 10 people in the shuttle and it's not that long of a wait since there's so many shuttles coming in and out of the Midway Airport. The Enterprise was located on the 2nd floor of the car rental building. We were immediately greeted by Justin and helped us with our resevation. Not much cars were left with the economy so it was nice to upgrade us to different car Kia Forte instead of the Ford Focus. He also went beyond and pulled the car around to us and then he helped us with our luggages. The check-in with him was fun and friendly. He definitely made our day! My friend and I arrived to the Chicago Midway Airport around 1pm on Friday 11/6/20. There were bus shuttles to take us to the car rental building which was a 5-10 min drive depending on how busy it is. The Enterprise stand was on the 2nd floor of the car rental building. A worker named Justin started to greet us off the elevators. He was very upbeat and friendly. He was quick to find our reservation on the iPad. Then he confirmed which type of car rental we booked, while heading to the car lot. He was so nice to upgrade us to a new 2021 Kia Forte and when I commented on the nice color, he said it was Computer Blue which was funny. That nerdy side of me liked the name. The first thing he did was pulled the car around to us and then he helped us with loading our luggage into the trunk right away. Did a quick walk through with us and then let us sit inside the car while he got any other information he needed to complete the check-in process. We made an online reservation for a car, and had a copy of the paperwork. They couldn't find it and don't take walk ups. So we had to go online from our phones literally at the counter, and makes an online reservation there. It was double the price but they wouldn't match our reservation made previously. The other rental counters were booked or had similar pricing at this point. We went ahead with it anyways. Took way too long to book an the only decent part was returning the car. This was pretty quick and painless. Overall: D Painful and unaccommodating in the beginning. Too pricey. Returning it was painless so two stars. read more

I rented a car from the 48th & Pulaski location in Chicago. TERRIBLE car. It's dirty, unwashed, smells like weed, the passenger door does not open, there is a cigarette burn in the driver seat, and it has a cracked windshield. I rented a vehicle from midway airport, rental went well but getting your deposit back is a hassle. I've called the 855, 800 numbers with only to be told that someone will get back with me regarding my refund. They toldme it takes five (5) business days for your refund to post. I rented the vehicle May 12, 2021 and returned it June 2, 2021 in the same condtion as I got the vehicle. Today is June 18, 2021 and no refund or call back. You can't even call the enterprise at the airport, the number routes you to 311. They will be hearing from my attorney since they won't call me. Hello, I was at the Parsippany location in Monday because I had a reservation for a car at around 4:30ish. When u got there , there was a gentleman in front of me who said there were no cars left and that they were renting him a truck for the same price he paid as was the car. But when they came to me, there was nothing to rent only the 15 passenger ford vehicle of which I would have taken assuming it was rented for the same price if the car. But then they told me I would have to go thru my insurance ands which it would be $30.00 more. At this point, I was already annoyed . Further complicate the matter, there was a customer behind me who dodo had a reservation for s car. She actually left. At this point , I had to leave to bring a broken car to be fixed. But on my way back, I called and the employee told me there would be a car in 15 minutes. So after I dropped my car off, caught an Uber ti get back, then the place was closed. It was a clear indication that this branch does not value their customers. - if they did, they would have said to be back in 15 minutes. Even the Uber driver couldn't believe it. Ti further the issue, when I got home, I called their office and they told me they would bring a car to me. Well, if the dog bites abd the bee stings, wouldn't you know that that was another falsity. The bottom line is this, your computerized confirmation doesn't matter a bit and also they couldn't care less about you the customer. read more

Contacted enterprise the 800 number And the agent told me that I could go to midway airport and get a snowbrush for my car because my vehicle did not have a snow brush in it from the location in Forest Park because I'm in Chicago and today we are getting 10" of snow I arrive to midway at around 12 o'clock am to get in and find out there's no attendance and you are locked in Till the manager come at 6:00 a.m. This needs to be addressed because I spoke to the security guard and he says that this happens a lot in the last month about 7 other customers have been stop inside of the enterprise airport parking lot sleeping in their cars until the manager arrives at 6:00 a.m. There should be a key lef with the security guards For situations like this so your customers will not be inconvenienced when they get the wrong information from your agents on your 1 800 hotlineVery disappointed read more

After I booked, I booked another reservation out of highlands ranch Colorado that ended badly. Info can be found on my yelp I would have canceled this one but I didn't When we arrived to pick up our car or like car. It was not there. The one they offered was nice but did not fit our bags. Seconds later, they bumped us up a level and gave us our choice of BMW or Audi Car worked great. Very happy. Glad on did not cancel So far I have had two most excellent experiences and one very bad. Rental went fine but don't forget anything of value in the vehicle. There lost and found is a joke! This place has no accountability for there employees when it comes to lost items. I forgot I left my glasses in the vehicle and by the time I could get back they were gone. It is obvious that they were stolen since I know exactly where I left them. An unscrupulous business. I reserved (and was charged for) an intermediate car. When I got there they had a Nissan Versa and SUVs. The attendant did not tell me the Versa was a compact car, but instead warned of a storm coming and tried to up sell me to an SUV at additional cost. I took the Versa. Worst car ever made for the American market! Shimmied above 55 mph, poor traction, defrost couldn't keep up. When I returned the car is whe I discovered they had rented me a compact car. My bill cclearly shows I reserved and paid for an intermediate and they loaned me a compact. Crooks! read more

Next time I'll choose another rental company... Made a reservation at the airport for a one way car rental. One way rental requires a credit card - no problem. They swipe the card and it's declined. Called up the bank, told them I'm traveling and took care of the fraud alert on the account. Ready to go... or so I thought. Apparently enterprise has a policy to only run a card once. My only other card is a debit. Called corporate, they said the branch could use a debit at the managers discretion. The manager, Callen Moore. wouldn't allow it. I explained to him that I just returned from taking care of my terminal father was exhausted and to top it off my flight was delayed so I just wanted to get home. Manager still declined. Heartless guy, refuses to call his manager or even give me his managers name. (Eric Koehler, this enterprise was the worst I have ever dealt with. You don't even let managers give out your name? I guess you probably get a lot of complaints.) Since I don't have a reservation with another company I'm looking at a $250 day rate. Ended up having to leave the airport to rent a car. I want to share my experience of exceptional customer service the location at midway airport at 155 W. 55th st. What a caring culture ! I left My Tablet in the Dodge Caravan that I rented.I returned within an hour of turning in the vehicle in a panicked state. The minute I got out of the car to ask about it someone met me at the booth and directed me in the direction than another employee bought me over to the area where another employee a station manager John Ulrich took over, he assured me that they would find it and took off to where floor the vehicle had been taken, I stood there hoping and praying that my tablet would be found, as I stood waiting another person approached, the branch manager Daniel Schlenker approached seeing the concern on my face. He reassured me that it would be found. He made several calls. I appreciated that culture of caring, everyone had jobs to do but they took time to help a very worried customer who didn't follow the directions to check for all personal items, oh and by the way my tablet was found. I rent cars frequently as I travel for work. I usually don't have many issues with rentals, but the last 2 experiences with Enterprise have been the worst I have had with customer service in general. I booked a premium car for pickup at Chicago Midway airport, this was a 2 week rental (about $600), I arrived and waited in the first line checked in with their agent on the 1st floor, and was then directed to wait in another line upstairs (some company's days don't even require a visit to the desk... The second desk is where another agent will walk you over to your car and try to upsell an upgrade, and pitch more add on items and insurance so be ready. I was given an Impala, premium car. I noticed some cigarette smell in the vehicle when I got in but I was in a rush because I was now running late because of all the hoops you have to jump through to get my rental car. I drove the car for a day or 2, visiting family. The cigarette odor was so strong my family asked if I started smoking, and my father in law refused to ride in it. The next day I called their customer service number on their website, I explained that the car smelled so bad that I needed to exchange it, but going all the way back to the airport was too far for me. The customer service rep looked up the location near me, which was their Mokena location at 19300 LaGrange Rd, he directed me there to exchange vehicles. I asked if the same car was available there, it sounded like he made a few taps on a keyboard and said "yes there is a chevy impala there and will have it ready for you". He gave me a reference number of some sort, that I will soon find out means nothing at all. I left work a little bit early to make sure I got there before they close, I wait in line and discuss the problem I am having with their agent (Milos Paravinja). He doesn't know anything about this, that reference number doesn't seem to mean anything, he tells me he doesn't have a premium car or really anything at all. He gives me a minivan, and I ask to come back the next day for my car and he said he will have something, he was expecting a lot of returns through the day... I ask when, he couldn't say, so I come back about the same time the next day leaving work a little early once again. I arrive and while waiting in line I can tell by the look of panic and rushing around that I was not going to be given a premium car that I booked. Finally, after standing there unacknowledged for 12 minutes Milos looks at me and explains he doesn't have a premium car for me (at least he remembered what I look like right...) I said ok, this is the second time im being lied to by an employee of the company. I asked what happened and why... He said his location doesn't keep premium cars on site, and there was nothing he could do about it. I asked why he didn't tell me this yesterday and he said "I said I would have a car for you not a premium car"... The 2 cars he said he had was of a standard class at best. I asked him about a couple other vehicles on the lot that would work for me and he said no, he cant offer me those. I asked about my rental rate and adjustments if you cannot provide what I paid for, once again he explained there is nothing, he can do about it. I asked about my smokey Impala I dropped off, apparently it was shipped over to another location... Why wouldn't another location ship a Premium car over if you offered it to a customer??? More blank stares, no offer of assistance, was told I can take a ride over to another location and try to exchange it there. Unfortunately I don't have the time to be running around to various locations based on word of mouth that have all been lies at this point. I leave with my minivan (that was given to me with a ¾ tank of fuel and another promise), and email customer service from the link on their site. I received an email back from their customer service, they explain they will engage the Management at the Midway location and have yet to hear back. I returned my vehicle to Midway yesterday, checked my email receipt and have had $40 of fuel charges on a vehicle I picked up with ¾ of a tank and filled up a block away from the return location to avoid more scams! Unfortunately, I have been ripped off again by them with charges that should not be there, and for a vehicle I never received. Don't utilize this company for your rental needs, The vehicles are filthy and smell like smoke, they will lie to you, add charges to your rental that are unjust, and waste your time repeatedly. I tried getting help face to face with a manager, I called the customer service number, I emailed customer service, and have had zero help for a $600 transaction (im even an emerald club member!)...
