Imagine going to rent a car only to be confronted with a CSI scene. The car was splattered with blood down the passenger side and over both door handles and doors. Dont know if human or animal but definitely blood. When I questioned the biohazard, the associate, Ryan, looked at me and said, "I guess we can wash it off if you really want." Like how is that a question and in what world is this okay? He was completely indifferent. I asked for a different car and he responded with "I am afraid we can't rent to you." He then walked off. I was absolutely dumb-struck. At the end, they ended up washing the car and I rented it but not without a great deal of intervention(2 hrs worth). Do NOT expect good customer service nor a clean and biohazard free experience at this location. The manager also never reached out. read more

Extremely shady business practices. Several policies and charges that are not made clear in rental agreements. The manager of this location at RND is unbelievably rude. He told me, and another unrelated customer, that we could walk to Hertz rental car because he was unwilling or unable to solve our issues. Denied service and refused to help numerous people. Told me and others that he would not be "disrespected", and walked out of front office when his help was needed. Asked for supervisor number and he replied that I could "look it up on the Internet." read more

Confirmed reservations means nothing I've had multiple bad experiences with Enterprise, but the most recent one finally pushed me to write this review. I reserved a full-size car in advance and showed up on time, only to be told they had nothing but two minivans left -- and the office was closing in 30 minutes. No heads-up, no options, no apology -- just "this is all we have." This has happened before, too. I've gone to three or four locations in the past where I was told "no cars available" after I had a confirmed reservation. Sometimes I'd get a call last-minute, sometimes no call at all. But they always seem happy to let you waste gas and time showing up. It's frustrating to be told you have a vehicle confirmed, only to find out it doesn't mean anything. People make plans based on these bookings -- and for some of us, it affects work, travel, or family events. Enterprise needs to stop overbooking and start valuing people's time. I won't be renting from them again unless their process seriously changes. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION. I received a letter in the mail 2 months after I rented a car claiming I was responsible for damages that I didn't cause. Enterprise employee walked the car at drop off and checked me in and everything was fine. The mail I received 2 months later had photos taken days after I dropped off the car and at a location other than RDU. Additionally, the plates in photos didn't match the plates on the car when I rented it and the photos showed that the car had been driven for several miles more than just the trip to the body shop. Why would the plates be changed after I dropped it off and before they took it to a body shop? I requested time stamped photos, video or even a report that shows damages anywhere close to the time that I dropped off the vehicle and was told I would need a court order to get these things (which they obviously don't have since their own records show it was undamaged at drop off). They have refused to drop these ridiculous charges. I will be filing complaints with the BBB and with the attorney general. read more

Awful Customer Service. They denied my wife and refused to run her Visa for payment. She was told to find another mode of transportation. She is essentially disabled and can't move well, so she was forced to walk away. She ended up paying less for an uber, Thanks UBER!! read more

I arrived to pick up my sedan. They only had SUVs. They wanted to charge me more for a BMW sedan. I explained I rented a sedan because I was visiting elderly relatives. They finally agreed to no up charge. Now back home I see in my credit card statement they charged me twice. I notified the company and they responded send us info from your credit card company so I took screen shots of the two charges. Now they have emailed me back that it will take the 3-14 days to resolve. Lesson learned. Won't rent from this company again. read more

I rented a car from Enterprise on Nov. 12 in Austin, TX at the airport. I have never been spoken to like I was under someone for reading a car. The associate was female, young and quite RUDE. During these times of uncertainty it was great to have people that emphasize with your situation and willing to assist you. Justin did just that. I called a day before I needed the rental to ensure they had vehicles. After we spoke of the logistics I went online and reserved the vehicle. Having to take off time from work, get a vehicle to pack up my daughter's dorm room hours away and return in a timely manner my stress levels were a little high. The process was a breeze. Justin was there in the morning when I picked up the vehicle. He adjusted the seats inside the vehicle so it would be easy for me to load it up. They ensured there was space at the rental location for me to leave my car which my daughter picked up later that day. Shaniya went over all the logistics on her trusty iPad and quickly sent us on our way. In the return the next morning Justin was there to greet me and drop me off home. Thank you Enterprise Staff for being there in a time of need. It is greatly appreciated. We will definitely be back again. read more

I want to share this story so hopefully it will help others. My car was hit in a parking lot and I had to get a rental car while it was being repaired. I went to pick up a rental car from the Enterprise on W. South St. in Raleigh, which had been scheduled the day prior. I was informed that the small SUV that was requested for me as a comparable to my vehicle still needed to be cleaned before I could take it. I didn't have time to wait for a car to be cleaned because I'm a teacher and I had to get to school to catch a bus to go on a field trip with the students. They said they had an upgrade mini van that was available for me if I didn't have time to wait for the car to be cleaned. Since I didn't have time to wait, I choose the van, assuming that they would waive the upgrade fee since they didn't have what was requested available for me at that time. (This had happened at a different Enterprise when they didn't have what was requested available and they waived the upgrade fee) A month later, I was notified that I had a balance on my account from having an upgraded vehicle. I was very surprised to find out that I was being charged an upgrade fee that whole time. If I would have been informed that I was going to be charged for the minivan, then I would have just taken the dirty small SUV or returned after school to pick it up once it had been cleaned. Once I found out I was being charged, I asked if there was anything that could be done to fix the mistake. All enterprise offered was to have me come in to pick up a small SUV that would be covered fully by Geico so I would not continue to be charged the upgrade fee. When I came to pick up the vehicle, the road to get to Enterprise was closed, so after driving around for a while I found somewhere to park so I could call them to figure out how to get to their location. I ended up having to drive down the opposite side of the road to pull into their garage. It would have been nice to know about the road closure when I talked to them in the morning, instead of figuring it out when I got there. They definitely need better communication with their customers so they aren't hit with unexpected surprises. read more

Bad customer service. I accidentally left my house keys attached to the rental car keys and when I called to report this, I was basically blown off and told that they would've noticed if there were extra keys on the ring. I asked them to please check anyway and then I was told 'that car's probably been rented out again already'. What do they mean 'probably'? Is it so hard for them to check and give me a definitive answer? They also charge way too much. Sadly, I didn't realize this at first because I've actually never rented a car before but I later found out I was being charged way more than what is standard. I'm also wondering if they possibly manipulated me into getting a certain car so it would cost more (my fiancée thinks they did). I told them to give me a car similar to a honda civic since that's what I drive. The employee then said 'ok a mid sized car'. I thought this was strange because I'm pretty sure a honda civic is a compact car and I said as much but the guy kept insisting it was a mid size. Yes, I'm also at fault here for not being more vocal but that still doesn't excuse them for being dishonest to try to get me to rent a more expensive car if that's what they did. Since I don't regularly rent cars I don't know if it's standard practice for rental places to be this sketchy but I certainly hope not. If I ever need to rent a car again, I'll be trying a different place. read more

I wish I could give 0 star!!! I will NEVER use Enterprise EVER again so please take my story as a warning to never use Enterprise. I had a reservation which I had receipt, confirmation number and it showed in app. I get to NC from 6 hours away expecting to have a rental vehicle for moving items from a storage unit and receive a call from Enterprise. The Enterprise representative, unsymmetrically, tells me Enterprise is not honoring my reservation and made no attempt to help me. I'm now out a couple hundred dollars bc of gas, hotel stay, etc. and worst yet have to figure out how to get stuff out of storage unit. To not honor a reservation is beyond ridiculous but then to not make any attempt to make up for a company mistake makes me say that Enterprise doesn't care about its customer!!! I will not use Enterprise again and if you choose to use Enterprise be warned that they do not honor their reservations nor will provide no customer service to rectify their business model of not honoring reservation!!! read more

I had a good experience at this location my first visit. They were very helpful at check out and check in. On a later rental, all locations charged X dollars for the compact car, but at this location, it was a fair amount higher. I called the 800 number and they told me to call this location and discuss with them. This location said they they could not honor the other area prices and they told me to book one of the other locations, which I did. In calling for a pickup from the nearest Enterprise to downtown, they said that they could not pick me up and that I needed to call Mcdowell Street. I explained the situation and then the Hillsborough manger said that she would call them. She did and received the same answer I did, so she sent a car. This Hillsborough manager (Meredith, I think) was extremely kind and helpful. If I were a random customer, I would certainly understand not working with me, but I am not only a Enterprise business customer, but also a Enterprise Plus member and use the services rather frequently at various locations. While overall I have had good customer service, as a long time customer, Enterprise services have been spotty here and there. read more

I chose this station because it was located a short two blocks away from the Raleigh Amtrak station. Be warned, this Enterprise is very busy; when I checked in, the agent was answering numerous calls about renting and upon returning the car, a couple quickly obtained my keys to look at the car in its dirty state. The agents as always were very patient and social. Another plus is the fact that it is near the center of Raleigh and just happens to be a 15 min. walk to Morris Station for bus #100 to the airport. Was coming into Rayleigh on Amtrak to pick up a car at Enterprise and continue driving south. Amtrak train scheduled to arrive at 5:08 and Enterprise office closes at 6 pm. Unfortunately the Amtrak train was delayed 80 minutes by the time we're getting to Raleigh. On the phone (while on the train) with the staff at this Enterprise office they tell me to email a picture of my driver's license. I do that from the train. About 5 minutes after we pull into Raleigh, 3 nice young men from the Enterprise office are there with our car and one for another person on our train. So they did all the paperwork for us, stayed late at their office 20 minutes AND delivered the cars to the train station to get us on our way. Makes me glad to be Enterprise renter. Travel tips: plan on Amtrak being at least an hour late on trains that have to pass through all of Viriginia and plan accordingly. When we made our return trip found the Enterprise office is a short 2 blocks from the train station so if you are traveling by train this is a REALLY convenient place to get a car - very short walk and a good size office. read more

I have used this service for years and have always had a positive experience. The service is within walking distance of the local Amtrak station. This makes my transition from train to automobile practically seamless. They allow clients to deposit keys after hours so my return on any given Sunday is always a non-issue. If you take the train into Raleigh and need to rent a car, this is your "go to" place. read more

I first made a reservation at a different Enterprise location because the prices at the other location were much lower and the website side the other location had after hours key drop offs. According the Enterprise website, the Mcdowell location did not have after hours key drop offs. My plane was late so I didn't have time to get to the other location before closing so changed my reservation to the Mcdowell Street location. They honored my earlier lower price. I found out they did have an after hours key drop so all worked well. The staff was great. Even though it was near closing time, they took time to show me key point of car-lights etc. One of the staff folks was on the phone trying to get the website changed to show after hour drop offs were allowed (didn't work - still wrong on the web site_. The location is great. I was able to take the 100 bus from the airport almost to their door. It was close enough for me to walk to the Amtrak station in just a few minutes for my departure from Raleigh. Only one problem with the car. The map light wouldn't turn off. I waited a while longer than expected to drop off the car to talk with the Enterprise rep-he couldn't turn it off either. Said not to worry they would figure it out. read more

Unfortunately, my experience was terrible with one specific person. She was rude, screaming to us, and not willing to listen. We where practically kicked out of the office when we returned the car, and they did not even returned the $50.00 deposit that my daughter was entitled to, nor any sort of document that specified that she returned the car. I tried to speak sense to that person, but she basically told me to shut up in a very disrespectful way. I have never been treated that way before, and I have never been the type of person to disrespect any person no matter what. This was simply another level of ratchet, and this person needs to be reported. read more

Typically, I love renting from Enterprise. My advice if you rent from this location would be to call ahead and make sure they have the car you actually reserved. I arrived at the time of my reservation and they did not have the car I had reserved. I waited while they tracked it down at another location and then had to drive one of their other rental cars to the other location to pick up the correct car! When I arrived at the other location, the correct car was not even there! I had to wait about 15 more minutes. What is the point of the reservation system?? I will say that the customer service was great and they were very apologetic, but it put me an hour and a half behind leaving for my trip which is totally unacceptable. read more

Loved the quick and easy "in and out" service with a pleasant attitude. I don't rent cars much. But I already had in mind what I wanted, had already shopped around for the best price. It was pretty last minute - 15 minutes before closing, about 7 people already in line, but they had 4 people manning the lines and I was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes. I will definitely continue to use this location. Great customer service. Amy H. needs to shop around anytime she is going to pay out money - lesson learned - had she shopped around she would have seen this was a reasonable charge. $79.00 for 2 days. I opted for their insurance because I didn't want to have to pay the $500 deductible on mine and $80 ($40/day) was not bad even if I had been at fault if I had an accident. Car was clean. I have been renting at enterprise for about 10 plus years. My last visit was at this location just past Wednesday. I had my rental for over a month. The week before I had to come in and renew my contact. When I was there I asked them if my rate was the same which was127.00 a week they said yes. This Wednesday I called to make weekly payment they said the rate changed to 164 a week ( this was not my problem I know the rates change ). They said it originally changed last week so they took part of my deposit and supposedly the agent paid the rest out of his pocket. Now my question is if you made a mistake last week why didn't you call me and let me know instead of taking it upon yourself and taking money from my deposit. They could not understand why I was so upset. I was and am still so disgusted with how I was treated I will never go back or refer anyone to them. read more

This Enterprise is within walking distance from where I work. The process to rent a vehicle is seamless. I reserved my vehicle online and picked it up the next morning. I reserved a compact but since they did not have any onsite, I was upgraded to a midsize sedan. Except for washing the car prior to my departure there was no long delays. I was in and out within 10 minutes of my arrival. I've rented cars before from this location and thus far have been satisfied. If there was any thing negative to highlight, it would be the pick up service. Before, I knew the exact location of the facility, I reserved a vehicle online and was told by a customer service representative that a shuttle would be at my business within 10 minutes to pick me up. Unfortunately the 10 minutes came and went about 4 times. From now on I either walk or have someone drop me off. Other than that one shuttle incident, I have been pleased with the customer service and professionalism at this location. read more
