This company is a rockstar. The owner, John was able to fit me in the next day after we had a mishap with our fireplace and soot was getting sucked into our vents. He came the very next morning with his awesome crew to assess and clean our duct work. They were very respectful and clean and wore booties, even put booties on the vacuum wheels so it did not get my floors wet since it was raining outside. The owner is not an upsell guy, he will only make recommendations if he sees any issues, which I appreciate. I will definitely have him come back when the weather dries up a bit to add straps to my ducts that were touching the ground. He deserves more then 5 stars, and the young men that work for him are awesome, they explained everything they were doing and showed me before and after pictures which they will email me copies later today. I had five HVAC companies provide bids for HVAC replacement. Not one HVAC company inspected the cold air return (Attic). When new system failed pressure test installing company wanted over $1,000. to replace cold air return. The Cold air return had separated and pulling hot attic air into the furnace & Air exchanger. Duct doctor came in at much reduced price and efficiently replaced the duct and removed the old. Friendly and quick service. Highly recommend them. read more

BEWARE....I've warned family, friends and my neighbors about The Duct Doctor, somehow it doesn't seem fair to leave the rest of you out of the loop. This company will offer you a FREE inspection of your sub-floor area. Duct doctor came to our home and proceeded to enter our sub-floor area (the service person named Jordan wore no protective gear except for booties to protect our carpets. Jordan came back into the house with photos on his phone of our sub-floor area and believe me the photos were of our worst nightmare. John proceeded to inform us that for Health and Safety reasons out entire duct system needed replacement (our current system is 9 years old). The quote $6,000 to $7,400 (I have copy of the quote), he would attempt to save 2 ducts if he could. Fortunately, our grown son decided his aged parents were "confused" as he went into the sub-floor area a couple of week previously, found two holes. Son came over, put on protective clothing, went into the sub-floor and took his own photos. RESULT: the pictures John and Jordan showed us were not pictures from OUR sub-floor area and you can ask for the pictures to be forwarded to you from Jordan's phone but they will not forward the photos that scared you. Our son did find a 3rd hole and all repairs are due to be made for a couple of hundred dollars. John, next time you say "thank you for your service" to a vet don't be trying to work out how much you can take him for! read more

The Duct Doctor Employee did an excellent job on my home. I had a free inspection, then a price quote. He cleaned my air ducts and let me know there was a hole where rats chewed a hole. I had that replaced. My bedroom is much warmer now. He also took pictures of the air ducts and the attic and under my home and showed the pictures to me, before and after the cleaning. The employee was very nice, patient with explaining the work and he did an awesome job. The price was much better than other quotes I received. I highly recommend The Duct Doctor. Exceptional service and John worked with me on price. After an extensive inspection of my ducting, under the house which is on a slope, they located one flixible duct that was not attached to the vent inside of the house. In addition, they located some duct work that had come apart and they properly sealed them. They also looked at the floor vents in the house to determine if the ducking needed to be cleaned, which they did not. In addition, there was some debris in 2 of the vents and they used their shop vac and cleaned them. They serviced my air conditioner and looked at the heater to make sure it was running properly. They produced pictures, real time, to show me what they found. A very hot day104 degrees and the house feels colder at a higer temp setting. I will definately use them again! read more

While I appreciate that the duct doctor was honest about me not needing new insulation, he attempted a pretty awful scam. We'd had our crawl space cleaned and sealed from a former rodent issue. Previously, we could hear rodents in the crawl space and hadn't heard any since the cleaning and sealing. My husband went down time to time with no evidence of rodents or feces. When the duct doctor came, after being very charming for quite some time and having me convinced that he would help us, he went into the crawl space. He came up and showed us a video of rat feces, with him sticking his finger in it, swirling it around!!! He then proposed an (expensive) plan for cleaning the ducts of rat urine and feces. My husband and I expressed confusion as we hadn't heard rodents or seen feces down there. I then asked if he would text me the video so I could send it alternatively to our rodent control person who we paid for this issue. At that point, he pulled out chewing tobacco (with the same unwashed, ungloved hands that he'd allegedly swirled in rat poop), didn't answer my request, became visibly angry, and demanded that we pay him gas money for coming out. Needless to say, he never sent me the video. ...Why be so defensive? Because he made the video somewhere else! It wasn't even our crawl space! It was an attempt at a scam. read more

It is a leap of faith to write a check for services that you will never really see. Having duct work done isn't like having carpet to admire. However, I have faith in John and his team. They arrived on time, made sure I understood what all was involved and the costs with possible options and went to work. To an individual they were extremely pleasant, courteous and professional. The team obviously knew what they were doing and enjoyed doing it. It speaks volumes about the owner, John, that he recruits, trains, hires and retains such high quality people in this time of scarcity. My son went in for an interview he was told that his other friend who also applied was too fat. I don't know but that sounds alot like discrimination to me. My son was also told that he was a little bit big. Discrimination once again. He was then told to call back on a Saturday and left multiple messages and no response. I don't know but I've been a blue collar worker all my life and seen workers bigger than both of them working in the HVAC trade. I do not recommend this company solely on the fact of discrimination. If its because they are over weight that's not a good enough reason to deny employment. read more

Wasted over a month of time back and forth with text messages just to be told in the end, they do not want to help me. This all started on June 7, 2023 and not until July 12th did they decide to abandon me. I had a worker named Jordan come out to give me estimate. I accepted the estimate. But had one request for them to use fiberglass sleeve to wrap tubing instead of the R1 value bubble wrap that some HVAC installers use because it's easier for them to apply, although they won't' tell you it's an inferior product. If you do some research online you'll see for yourself. I asked for a more detailed estimate sheet like other estimators give, that shows actual hardware and accessories used, like mastic glue, tubing size to be used. etc. Instead they just gave a generic sentence on paperwork "install tubing under home 12ft. length...." So you don't really know what materials they will use, or not include. If you know anything about HVAC builds, it matters! After he left my property and acted like he was ready to do the job whenever I wanted, it turned into weeks of excuses every time I texted or called on phone to get that estimate and setup a date. When I finally got a reply it was always things like: "our cell phone isn't receiving your texts", then I switched to emails, but those also were not being received. Then I contacted the owner John, by phone, and told him of the issue trying to contact his worker Jordan. He did not know anything about my request or job, even though Jordan was telling me he was in contact with the boss about getting me that revised a.s.a.p. This went on for weeks and weeks. I was very patient waiting. Finally on my seventh? request to receive a needed estimate with proper information, the boss man sends me this text on July 12th (yes you read this correctly OVER a month of trying to get them to follow through on a simple estimate I still have nothing moving forward over a month later) From John: "At this point brother we're not going to be able to do the job. I highly suggest that you try to find somebody else to give that done for you. Your material list is going to be two Adjustable ninety elbows. Twelve foot of kd ducting. One roll of flex tape. And pink owens corning fiberglass to insulate the hard pipe. But at this point, we're not going to be able to get to you for at least a Couple of months. we are super busy." There is no mention of what size tubing to use, or if mastic glue will be used and if the tubing would be sleeved, which is different than just wrapping fiberglass around it. Once again, nothing mentioned here really means anything since it's not on a contractual paper before work begins. Then he wraps up his thoughts by saying he won't do the job anyhow cause they are too busy? What a slap in the face. I patiently tried over a month to get a proper estimate done, then instead of doing your best to get my needs completed, after making me wait so long, you bailed on me with a poor excuse that you are too busy. If you are so busy, then why even have someone come out to look at taking the job in the first place??? I was more than happy to wait for a month or two, since I had to prep the area under the home anyhow by removing a lot of excess dirt mounds. So I replied to him with: "I'm ok with waiting. Put me on the schedule for a Friday in Sept. Oct?" It has been yet another week of time since texting John the owner, that I will wait the 2 month before he can do this job for me, but he doesn't respond as usual. They once again have dropped the ball. Over a month, and I now have to start the process over with another HVAC company. You could have finished the job by now instead of the continual promises to get back to me. I had to text you repeatedly and got nothing but ridiculous excuses. Why they do estimates at all if they are so busy that they cannot even take on your need is just a waste of everyone's time. What makes it worse is they won't even reply and get you on their calendar even if you agree to wait a full two months. That is just bad management. There is no guarantee with the Duct Doctors that you will actually get your job done, even if they give you an estimate. I suspect if they get bigger jobs that pay more, they will just dump you with their lame excuses. Anyone reading this who wants to see the actual texts which are full of varied excuses, right up to the end where they bailed on me completley, I will be happy to send you actual print screens. read more

I was lucky to have an electrician friend recommend the The Duct Doctor heating installation service. The price was below competitors and the work was exceptional. Not only was the new heating system installed in a professional manner, but they also repaired my air conditioning coil which had problems and if they hadn't ordered the new part would have costs me thousands more to update. We had a few huge PG&E bills, almost all of it due to gas cost to heat the house. Our 35 year old ductwork in the crawl space under the house had numerous leaks that were documented by photos taken in 2 hours under our house, the free inspection by the crew of two. We took their advice and replaced all of it. They came, 6 guys and 3 vans with all the materials needed. They removed the old ducts, carefully wrapped so nothing spilled in our house, and replaced it all in 7 hours. They communicated well to us throughout the day and worked very well together. They also plugged all the places where critters could get in. Using the PGE website, we know that now we are using less than half of the gas we were before, when we were using most of it to heat the crawl space. A job well done. read more

He went into my crawlspace and provided me with photos and a quote for the work that needed to be done. He was very honest with me about what I needed and whether it was worth the cost, when another hvac guy incorrectly recommended a total replacement of all my duct work . His team was prompt, professional, and thorough throughout the process, communicating with me each step of the way. Duct Doctor was able to fit me in, take care of my older ducts, and provide competitive and reasonable pricing, and before and after photos of the work that was done. John even came back a couple of days after the project was complete to install a smart thermostat for me. The Duct Doctor saved the day. We were visiting our Northern California family and noticed a bad smell coming from the duct work in the master bedroom. We called the Doctor. He came the same day went to work under the house. He found a duct going to the bedroom had come apart and was picking up odors under the house... He reconnected it! He took many pictures of the rest of the duct work and educated us on the old duct work. SO PROFESSIONAL !!!! Could not have been a better experience.
