    Ethiopia Wushwush Single Origin Espresso
    Felix W.

I got an espresso. Tried their seasonal single origin (Ethiopia wushwush) Good crema and layered flavors. Mild acidity with citrus and lime notes, balanced by floral undertones. Mouthfeel was slightly lacking. A little more body would have made it even better. 3.5/5

This place is just alright. I come here because they're open earlier than some other shops. They have outdoor seating, but if it's the cold morning, they have overhead heaters on. There's not much parking so it's not a place I'd sit and hang out at anyway. Their set up is pretty secure though, with their planter tables and string lights. The service is ok, you can also order online (but not the seasonal drinks and more complicated orders). I liked the maple black sesame latte (seasonal). I've also tried the turmeric latte and the habibi chai, and both were more milky in flavor than anything else.

My first time coming here! Cute coffee shop to stop by on a sunny day! They've got outdoor seating, with enough room for strollers and such. I had a fun time musing their menu. Tons of fun seasonal flavors. The Blueberry Sage Matcha Cream was delicious! Nice service, and drinks came out pretty fast.

I stumbled upon this little gem while stopping at Whole Foods. I am so glad I made the trek across the street. They had nice variety of your classic drinks along with some seasonal offerings. I went with the golden milk latte and a veggie breakfast sandwich. Both items were delightful and I think I enjoyed the seedy sandwich bread the most! I was also grateful for the overhead heaters as it was rather chilly, nice touch!!

Tried the Autumn Spice Latte with 2 shots of espresso, steamed milk, and pumpkin syrup made from real pumpkin puree and spices. The taste was alright, giving off those festive holiday vibes. However, I'll likely stick to my favorite Habibi Latte next time.

Ask the Community - Equator Coffees

Are personal mugs allowed at this time?

We are piloting the return of personal mugs at our Ft Mason cafe in San Francisco starting tomorrow 7/20 and hope to bring personal mugs back to all of our cafes soon thereafter

    Are there outlets here?

Unfortunately there are no outlets on the covered patio. We hope to see you soon!

Do they have tea at the Oakland location or is it just coffee at the shipping container?

They also have tea at this location!

Some many items to choose from, the person taking my order was very helpful in explaining the different kinds of drinks and pastries. Ordered the Ginger Honey Jobani as a hot drink, Biscoff Milkcake, Honeycomb, and a Beef Fatayer. There were several kinds of milkcakes which would have the texture like a tres leches cake. The Honeycomb had pockets of cream cheese and was drizzles with honey. The Meat Fatayer is like an empanada. The food and drink were very tasty. Highly recommend to stop by Sanaa Cafe and experience it. Their website shows more cafe openings in the future!

Suggested great recommendations. they had told me this is not the first sana'a cafe -- there are 10 other locations around the bay. this cafe, in particular, is great for work or even to sit down and sip some coffee. it is spacious -- with great amount of sunlight. when you go at golden hour -- its perfection. although the cafe is great, my chai wasn't so much. it lacked in flavor and wasn't iced the way I would prefer it to be. but I'd still definitely give this place a try again -- maybe a coffee this time around, haha.

While I like some of…read moretheir products, the customer service is definitely off especially from the standpoint of exhibiting micro aggressions. For example, in many of my times going there, I've noticed that upon approaching the counter the staff typically have ignored me and continue on talking to each other as well as even giving me glances yet not doing anything. After waiting for some time they then approach. With that, there's one particular man there who purposely would place my purchased item on the counter despite the fact that my hand was clearly reached out to retrieve it from him. He also gives me an awkward look whenever he does this. It's interesting to me as these same ones have the aesthetic of being "open minded/cultured" and "liberal" yet on the inside they're nothing more than covert bigots (likely transplants from some bumpkin states and towns). My thing is if you don't like dealing with certain demographics of people then Oakland is clearly not for you. Try Dixon or Yuba City or some place like that where you can embrace that special brand of hatred. Wearing doc martens, tattoos, hipster haircuts, and piercings instead of a pillow case on one's head doesn't hide their bigotry. The costume isn't fooling anyone. It doesn't fit here in Oakland. Definitely not giving my dollar nor support to this business anymore.

We went mainly for drinks and tried a latte, tiramisu latte, and a Spanish latte. The tiramisu latte and Spanish latte were both really good and definitely my favorites. Smooth, flavorful, and not overly sweet. You can tell the coffee quality is solid. We also tried the matcha drinks in vanilla and strawberry. I liked the strawberry matcha more. It comes unsweetened, so I asked for it to be sweetened and it was great after that. The vanilla matcha was fine too, just not my top pick. They're also dropping a new Ramadan drink soon, a date latte, which sounds really good and I'll probably come back just to try that. Overall, great drinks and a nice place to hang out.

I loved the ambiance, it felt we was in another country. The place was packed I have no idea where everyone parked haha. Very hard to find parking. The Adeni Chai I had was wonderful and I would get again. The lemon pastries I had were good & I would possibly get again. Both cheese pastries & meat pocket I didnt care for so much. I undetstand they are an acquired taste but me being Middle Eastern we have our own versions and I think that's why I didn't like as much. I would definitely go back and try more sweet pastries. They had a large selection I couldn't try them all haha. I would love to try more tea and coffee options as well. Go and try out several different pastries and discover what you like. Pro tip: take an Uber if you can. Parking is hard to get.
