5 out of 5!!!!! This place is probably my favorite Thai restaurant in NY. From the service to the food - everything was absolutely perfect. We came for lunch on Christmas Eve because my sister raves about their Pla Sum Rod (crispy whole fried fish in a sweet spicy sour sauce). Let me tell you, if you go there and don't order this then don't go back unless you plan to! That fish has changed my life! I'm literally salivating writing this, and salivate anytime I talk about it. The fish itself is delicious and that sauce is the best sauce I've ever had. Now to mention the other items we got: Singha Beers - can never go wrong! This thai beer is light, and it doesn't make me feel bloated like most beers so definitely try it! Moo Ping// grilled marinated pork in honey and herbs - sounds exotic and tastes delicious. It's something you won't get at other Thai places. Tom Kha// Coconut broth soup - sweet and tangy, very savory. My dad loved it! kaeng-pa// red curry with veggies, and chili peppers - this is not a thick brothy curry. It's like chicken and veggies in soup. They warn you since it's a spiciness they can't really fix given the ingredients. I wish it did have some type of milk, because then it makes a milky thick curry over rice, but this was still yummy! We also got a mock duck dish - I think the Pad Pad Ruam, and it was DELICIOUS! I love the mock duck because they make it super flavorful and crispy. We also got a vegetarian fried rice, which was absolutely delicious and paired well with everything on the menu. Covid outdoor dining was a mixed review. Food was delish, but service was pretty dismal. They kept accommodating guests by bringing out more dining tables. They had more diners than what they would've had if indoor dining was allowed. It took 20 minutes to get our order in and then at least an hour to see any food. Came here for something different. I had some bad experiences with Thai food, so now I'm just pretty picky. We were around the way, so we decided to try some place nice. I've been here years ago, but didn't get to review it. For the app, we ordered: - Satay - Strips of grilled marinated chicken or beef on skewers / peanut sauce / cucumber salad - Kanom Jeeb - Steamed Thai dumpling / minced pork / shrimp / mushroom / soy vinaigrette dip For the Entree: - Chicken Panang Curry - Panang curry / grounded peanut / chili peppers / kaffir lime leaves / coconut milk - Pad Sea-Eiw - Flat rice noodle /chicken, beef or pork / egg / Asian broccoli / sweet thick soy sauce For Dessert: - Banana Spring Roll With Jackfruit All of these were alright, but nothing spectacular. I've definitely had better. The Panang Curry was watery than what I was used to. Could have been better. The dessert was sub-par. I've made better banana spring rolls. Erawan offers solid Thai food. Definitely fresh and flavorful, I especially liked the Tom Yum soup. The pad Thai was very good though I've had better. I also ordered the pad Kaprow (basil chicken). Really love this place. I came out yesterday and it was a very pleasant experience. The decor is so amazing. It keeps you busy. They have a full bar as well. Their food not only tastes amazing but it looks amazing as well. I ordered the pad kee mao and it was so tasty. The rice noodles were cooked perfect. The vegetables in it were so fresh. They also cooked the chicken in mine great. I also asked for it not to be spicy and they made it just the way I liked it. I was so happy. I will totally be coming back.
