I got locked out of my apartment unit for the first time today and saw that Eric's Locksmith is closer and has better reviews than other places in the neighborhood. I couldn't hear the person on the other end of the line when I first called, but minutes later I got another call asking for more details--address, how many locks, whether or not I need a replacement key. I was told that it'll take 15 minutes and it ended up taking 30 minutes, but the locksmith was courteous and efficient (he opened the door in about one minute!) and resolved the whole lockout episode in less than an hour so I have no complaints! Im sure prices vary depending on time of day and type of lock, but I was quoted $80 for one lock (luckily I didn't get locked out of my apartment complex) and $20 for a replacement key. The locksmith was very professional, doing a quick ID check before we began to make sure that I was the caller and double checking that the lock still worked after he opened the door. I hope I don't need these types of service again but if I do, I'll definitely give Eric's Locksmith another try! read more

Wow - can't recommend Eric enough. Last night I had issues with the deadbolt on a door, I yelped a locksmith and this co. popped up. It was late - but Eric immediately answered his phone, and had me text him a pic of the lock. It was about $30 more expensive if he was going to come that night (as it was late after hours), so we opted to have him come next day, and he said he could arrive as early as 7:30AM but would work around our schedule. There's a tune "Getting Jiggy with it!" The door of my new apt. seemed to roll with that song. With 2 locks on the front door I was puzzled as to why one opened so easily & the other seemed like it had been installed backwards. I could only work the deadbolt from inside my apt. Oddly enough I found I was not able to lock it when I departed my apt! Thank goodness one of my friends referred me to this locksmith who came right to my residence. It only took him 1 second to glance at my front door & then he announced, "I can open that bottom lock with a flat head screwdriver in 2 seconds!" Sure enough he jiggled the lock & poked it with his screwdriver & showed me in no time at all *gasp* how unsafe it was. Immediately I agreed that a new lock was necessary. He informed me that the original lock on this door was one of the first the Schillage lock company produced many years ago. My new apt. is in an ancient building. Eric the locksmith was very pleasant, efficient, fair, honest, offered me choices & even gave me some tips on buying a fireproof, waterproof safe. He showed me how to lock that darn deadbolt backwards (very tricky). He wanted me to feel safe & secure, which is of utmost importance.
