I was honestly surprised by this. I've tried so many hot pot places around the Bay Area, but Tasty Pot was way more amazing than I expected since they start to do "All You Can Eat". Their side dishes have everything, especially the variety of meatballs and hot pot ingredients. That's something I appreciate because most hot pot spots are usually pretty limited. They also had a huge variety of vegetables to choose from. Definitely one of the better hot pot experiences I've had in the Bay Area.

Tasty Pot is definitely one of my favorite spots! The food is always amazing--everything tastes fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying. It's the kind of place you keep coming back to because you know you'll get a great meal every time.I also really appreciate how clean and well-kept the place is. It makes the whole dining experience even more enjoyable and comfortable. Most of all, the service is excellent. The staff are always so nice, friendly, and welcoming, which really stands out. They make you feel taken care of from start to finish. Highly recommend if you're looking for great food and great service in San Jose!

The food was actually Tasty & full of flavor. We got there as they were opening their door. Good thing too because this place became full of customers in the blink of an eye. I would say that I wish all of our main dinner dishes came out at the same time. It made it weird to eat my udon noodle dish while everyone else was waiting for their hot soup. Their fried calamari was a hit with its tasty crunchiness.

I love love love Tastypot its like the perfect comfort food no matter if its hot or cold outside. The soup and ingredients are always consistent and I dont think its ever been off in any way. My favorite pot would be the beef pot or the veggie pot with tomato soup. The variety in ingredients is great and I always feel like Im getting a very nutritious meal The workers here are super friendly and nice! I ordered a large takeout order once and one of the servers was kind enough to help me bring it out to my car! The store is really clean and everything is nicely decorated. Its my favorite place to have a casual dinner or a good hangout with friends

Wow I had a wonderful dinner experience yesterday here at Tasty Pot Milpitas. I got their Japanese Miso Hot Pot and it was good, 4.5 stars. Funny enough, our table all got the same entree. Flavor was not too light nor overwhelming. If you want to add more spice for flavor, they have it on the side of each table. Portions were good too. I was so full. Also got their coconut lava balls which comes in 5 pieces per order, delicious, 5/5 stars. Service was spectacular from start to finish from all of their staff. They were very proactive and attentive in their service throughout to all customers whether it is helping navigate through their online menu, water refills, soup refills, or more napkins, they will come by and provide what they think customers need without needing to be asked. Interior is spacious, clean, and provides relaxing vibes.

    Tomato Fillet Hot Soups

My third(?) time coming here with my group of 6+ longtime Milpitas friends! Parking is easy since it's located in a plaza. Walked in a little after 6:30pm on a Friday night and were immediately seated. Scanned the QR code at the table to order, and waters were brought out as we perused the menu I've gotten their beef soup twice prior, but I was looking at their new items and noticed a Tomato Fillet Hot Soup. They had varying new fillet hot soups, and it looked like the only difference was the type of soup they used (all the ingredients were the same). Opted to try the tomato one in mild w/ noodles. Didn't have to wait too long before the food started coming out! Unless you have dietary restrictions, I don't think you could go wrong with any of their choices. My vegetarian friends noted that there weren't many options for them (it looked like the Healthy Veggie Hot Soup was the only suitable option, but there lacked an option to add more protein - the consensus was that MalaTown had many more vegetarian options). Definitely enjoyed the Tomato Fillet Hot Soup! I did find two small bones in my fish, each about an inch long. It didn't seem like anyone else in my group who ordered the fillet soup had bones, but just be careful when you're eating the fish! Very comforting and casual meal! The total per person after tax and before tip came out to a little more than $20. Would be more than happy to come back!

I love coming here, It's been a while since the last time I was here but the food is always very tasty and fresh the staff are always very friendly and the store is always very nice and clean and the environmental is very welcoming.

    Takoyaki and coconut sesame balls

Food is always great here. I'm glad they serve sizzling plates along with hot pots because I'm the only one who likes the soups in the family. Food is ordered by QR code at each table and comes out really fast after the order is submitted. The cheesy hot pot medium spicy was delicious. The snacks were piping hot! The restaurant is family friendly so it can get rather loud but it's expected with groups and families. The server would automatically bring by sealed water cups and forks for young kids which is greatly appreciated. Tasty pot is a good choice when no one can decide where to eat for dinner.

    Eel Sizzling (Udon)
    Jason H.

From the "New Item!" menu, the Eel Sizzling with Udon versus Rice) plate was a pleasant change from soup. The sweetness from the eel (and eel sauce) was just right. The egg, edamame, and udon noodles were a perfect mixture. The Takoyaki and soup dumplings were typical, but hot and fresh. At first, they said we ordered one Eel with rice and one with udon -- until we showed them our cart/bill with two udon. Other than that, service was attentive and our water filled.

This location is in a very busy plaza. You are lucky to find parking. The wait staff is always very friendly and the wait is never too long even though they are always busy. They have a few TV to watch sporting games. It's never too loud. You can hear your table perfectly fine. The food always comes out really hot and fresh. The wait is not too long. I like that you can make your own sauce right at your own table. On weekdays during lunch you can get a check in offer for free green tea. One of my go to spots for hot pot.

    Danielle Y.

Love tasty pot especially this location! I come often with friends or family and the quality is always consistent and service is good, they always fill water and offer to add soup. My go to order is a beef soup. My sister likes the ingredients in the beef soup but prefers other soups so she will usually change it to either the Taiwanese or tom yum, which is a good hack if you want the same ingredients but different soup as the other soups usually have different ingredients in the pot. Will definitely be back!

    William L.

Nothing but great things to say about this restaurant. Great food, good service, and solid portions. My partner and I both ordered the Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hotpot, which can be adjusted to your spice tolerance. It comes with your choice of white rice or vermicelli noodles at no extra cost. The portion size is perfect, with premium ingredients and a solid variety of veggies/meats. There are dipping sauces at every table, and each customer gets a free iced green tea or black tea, which is a nice touch. They used to offer a creamier green tea if you checked in on Yelp, but it seems they don't anymore. Overall, I highly recommend this spot for an individual hotpot restaurant that hits all the right spots!

    Deanna Y.

Dined here for the second time a last weekend. For not ayce hot pot, this place definitely hits the spot! I got the beef hot pot curry with very spicy (one step above medium). Perfect spice level for myself but slightly too spicy for my husband. Husband got the sizzle beef rice plate and he really enjoyed it and said would go back just for the same dish again. The hot pot portions I feel are big enough to share for 2 people (maybe plus an appetizer). I usually cannot finish the whole thing without feeling extremely stuffed. I haven't tried the boba tea drinks here yet but maybe next time! I will be back!

I used my own eyes and saw the vibe and then went in without checking anything on the internet. And I was very happy that I did. This is a very CHINESE place. I have heard of such hotpot places in China. They cater to the customers very well. The bathroom has toothbrush and toothpaste and other stuff to get you cleaned up after eating hot pot. There are endless appetizers and Chinese desserts, as well as snacks for you to load up (all free!), and there are lots of sauces and whatnot for you before you even order. All self-served. The hot pot broth is very tasty, and you can then order items to put in the hotpot. For those of us who cannot decide, they have combo mushrooms platter so you don't have to choose, and beef offals mixed platter so you get a little bit of everything. The types of items available for hot pot is distinctively Chongqing stuff, so don't get too turned off if you don't see the usual hot pot stuff. It's not the run of mill kind of place. You get a nice booth and you get to refill the broth whenever you want. My favorite are the nice cold mung bean noodles that you would otherwise pay at least $10 to get as a side dish. It's free and endless. This is all you can eat and free. The second favorite thing that I couldn't get enough of is the different sesame balls they served up, all freshly made and incredibly tasty. My absolute third favorite is the various Chinese desserts that are locally found in Sichuan. Again all free. Onto the items we ordered. I really liked the thinly sliced lamb beef and hand cut beef (thicker), as well as mushrooms, veggies and beef offals. You don't have to decide on one thing, love the combo selections and very reasonable in cost. I also ordered pork blood which my parents liked. The price point is medium to low. Comparing to other hot pot restaurants, it's definitely very inexpensive. So I am surprised that they are making money honestly but that made my parents happy as they like a good deal. My parents really enjoyed the ingredients, the process and the endless appetizers and desserts plus local Chinese snacks that you can load up while eating the hot pot (individually packed quail eggs and tofu snacks). The restaurant chain is from China. So they cater to what the new gen Chinese hot pot goers want. Lots of variety, good price points, and a good beginning to end customer oriented process. A slight interesting observation - they have hair ties up front, in case you need to tie up your hair before getting down in business. I eat everywhere in the world because of my job and demanding travel work schedule. I am usually not impressed by food but this place is definitely top notch. I think I ate at least four variety of sesame balls. Yes they are fried, but they are fresh and delicious. It took an hour to get there, but it's totally worth it. Bonus points, made my parents happy in advance of Chinese New Year.

We came with a group of eight and were able to comfortably share one large table, which made the experience feel really fun and communal. We ordered a big variety of meats, veggies, noodles, and rice for our split pot with a mild Szechuan broth and a tomato broth. As soon as the waiter took our paper order, all the food came out at once, which was super convenient. They placed everything on a small side table next to us so we could cook and eat at our own pace without feeling rushed. There was also a great self-serve sauce bar with lots of sauces, small snacks, and soups, which added a lot to the experience. Overall, the quality of both the meats and vegetables was really good, and everyone left feeling very full and satisfied. The only downsides were the service and the spice level. It was pretty hard to get the waiters' attention if we needed water refills or more soup base, and they didn't check on us after dropping off the food. Also, we ordered the "mild" Szechuan broth, but it was much spicier than expected -- more like a medium. It was also quite oily, so we had to skim some of the oil off the top. Overall though, I'd still recommend it for the food quality and group-friendly hot pot experience.

If you prefer something with a kick, the Sichuan-style soup and the Tom Yum are also fantastic and deeply flavorful. Whatever you do, don't skip the condiment bar! Mixing up a dipping sauce with their sesame paste, peanuts, garlic, and cilantro takes the whole meal to another level. For sides, we got the lettuce, mentaiko fish balls, tofu skin, udon, enoki mushrooms, and Angus eye steak. I wouldn't get the lettuce again, since it gets too soggy in hot pot. I would opt for other vegetables instead. That said, one issue I had was that a fly flew into my sauce while we were eating. There were a couple of other flies flying around, likely because we were seated near the door. Since it was just my sauce, I was able to replace it, so I didn't mind too much but I'd avoid sitting near the door next time and hope they keep it closed.
