    Kalbijim yummm -4/12
    Kara M.

Went to meet up with an old friend and had a great time in this cozy korean spot. The service was quick and food filled our tummies. Here is what we got: Kalbijim (5/5)- this is a braised beef dish with carrots, rice cakes and potatoes. It had cheese grilled on top like at Daeho but gotta say this spot isn't as crowded and still really good. Seafood tofu soup (5/5)-very flavorful and homey. Overall great experience and had a nice time here. I already want to come back.

3.5. Not horrible. Just mid tbh. The seafood pancake was nice and crunchy. But the squid in it were soooo rubbery that it was hard to chew and swallow. The rice cake deluxe was interesting with the mexican cheese. That's all I tasted though. It wasn't bad but wasn't what I was expecting from tteokbokki.

Delight in this cozy Korean restaurant on a chilly winter night--ideal for a Friday hangout with a small group of friends. We indulged in seafood bibimbap in a stone pot with sizzling cheese, pork bone pot, galbi steak, fish on a sizzling platter, and chive and shrimp pancake. So much delectable food, perfect for sharing! Service can be more attentive.

I heard good things about Lucky Soul Diner, so I decided to try them out before realizing that they changed ownership. The place is now Chinese owned, and didn't taste authentic at all (which they admit here on Yelp as well). I got the budaejigae (army stew) which is a simple food, so there's not much to say about the flavors. The seafood pancake was way too thick and didn't have much seafood in it, and the side dishes (banchan) tasted like they came from a Korean supermarket. The service was also really bad, as it was really hard to flag anyone down despite only 2 other tables dining in. There's too much social media hype over this place: for better Korean food, whether authentic or fusion, go elsewhere.

Solid Korean spot! Got confused when I originally got to the store as the sign says jeonju but the place goes by both names! I went on a weekday and they had a special where if you spend over $100 you get a free item! I ordered the gabijjim, pork backbone stew, and seafood pancake. The seafood pancake was crispy and delicious with a good ratio of seafood inside. Galbijjim was flavorful and meat was super tender and soft! Compared to some other places I been too, for the price point it was very satisfying. Pork backbone stew was warm and inviting. Overall would come back here again to try more things!

I'm so glad this restaurant randomly popped up on my explore page one day so I could give a try. When you get there, keep in mind that the sign outside the restaurant says JeonJu rather than Lucky Soul Diner. Not sure why, but hopefully that helps! JeonJu is small, but a cozy and comforting restaurant. It looks simple inside but the food is so flavorful and complex. They also have a TV inside that was playing clips of Vietnamese food. We ordered the iron plate seafood pancake and seafood stone pot bibimbap and neither were disappoints. They both came out super hot, especially the bibimbap which was sizzling right up until the end of our meal. The server melted the cheese on top of it at our table so points for showmanship! Both dishes were so tasty and delicious, and the portions were pretty big! Between me and my fiance, we weren't able to finish just the two. The stone pot does get a little too hot though because the rice at the bottom of the stone pot gets hard and difficult to eat, but most of the rice stays soft. I love that the stone pot can keep our meal warm the entire time.

I had a very mixed experience here. The staff was wonderful - very friendly, QR Code menu was easy to order from, and food came out quick. The food was hit or miss in our order- we ordered the kimchi pancake (delicious), steam egg (don't recommend), and pork belly (delicious and rich) with rice. The rice was great- not the typical cheap white rice some places serve- it was quality. The steam egg was SO disappointing though- It was bland, burned at the edges, and watery. I like mine at home better :) Ambience is cute, its a small place. They really need ventilation in there though- the table behind us got a dish that was cooked at the table and the fumes/ fat smoke had us choking. This was the reason for 3 stars vs 4 or 5- it wasn't a pleasant dining experience for us.

We decided to stop by for a late lunch before heading to the Great Mall. There are plenty of parking spots right outside of the restaurant. We were seated by unfriendly and unhelpful waitress upon entering the restaurant. The waitress point to the QR Code on the table. We had to scan the QR Code to place our order. We ordered the Seafood Hot Stone Bibimbap and a small Pork Bone Stew Pot. The waitress gave us six different banchans, but we were never offered the free refills they advertised on the menu. Our food came out in a timely manner. The seafood hot stone bibimbap was piping hot with melted cheese and shredded seaweed on top. The seafood consisted of small pieces of squid and a few small shrimp. No other type of seafood that I can see in there. The pork bone stew was a little bit on the spicy side. We ordered mild and it had lots of jalapeños on top. The stew was pretty hearty and the broth was on the salty side. There was basically no service besides the waitress bringing us the food and water. We needed extra napkins and we had to get them ourselves. The waitress was too busy playing with her phone. She didn't even look up or walk around the restaurant to see whether the customers needed anything. The prices are fairly reasonable and they were generous with the portions. However, they lack good service.

The cheese galbijiim is to die for!! I came here to eat with a party of 3 and we only ordered this, the seafood pancake, and tofu soup. The galbijiim was juicy and flavorful! The seafood pancake was extra crispy and thick with lots of filling. The tofu soup had a generous amount of toppings and it paired perfectly well with the rest. We ate so much but still ended up with leftovers considering that all the dishes had huge portions! I highly recommend coming here for your next Korean meal!

I tried Lucky Soul Diner and it was delicious! We got a variety of dishes to try a bunch of new things and everything was really good. The interior is decently sized and you order on your phone via a QR code. at the time we went, there were a lot of menu items unavailable that I was really excited to try. The food was out pretty quickly and was delicious! We got pork bibimbap, bbq pork, bbq short ribs (kalbi), fried stone pot egg, and tofu soup. Everything was so delicious and flavorful. The portions were great for sharing, especially the bibimbap. I was really impressed with the fried egg as u didn't think it was be as fluffy and creamy as it was. We devoured that quickly! Overall, I highly recommend trying Lucky Soul Diner! The plaza also has great options for dessert and boba for afterwards if you choose to get a treat after dining!

We came in on a Sunday at 12 pm and there were a few people seated already and by the time we left around 1:15 there was a line already. We came just in time. I loved that you could order everything on the phone and there were images on the menu for reference. The menu had a lot of options. Server was kind to ask if we had any questions. Our food did not disappoint and was delicious. The galbijiim beef ribs was so tender it fell of the bone easily. The potatoes and carrots were cooked so well that it was soft and flavorful. We definitely left there saying the food was delicious and that we'll come back to try the other food.

Visited this spot on a Sunday afternoon and was quickly seated. The ordering process was simple, using the QR code on the table. Went with a group of four, and we decided to try the cheese galbijim. If your picture is on their hall of fame, you get a complimentary item to choose from and we went with the seafood pancake. The galbijim was good: it was tender and packed with rich flavors--definitely a solid 4/5. The seafood pancake, though crispy and nicely textured, was a bit light on the seafood, with an abundance of Chinese chives--I'd give this a 3/5. The banchan (side dishes) were flavorful and refillable.

Went to Lucky Soul Diner last night and ordered a sizable amount of food for my party of 4. We got the bossam, sundubu, spicy rice cake, bibimbap, corn cheese and a complimentary steamed egg to share. The bibimbap was hearty & healthy at a discount of ~$15. The spicy rice cake and sundubu were also warm & flavorful dishes. Corn cheese was also quite yummy! However, the bossam meat while tasting okay, wasn't presented in the best way it was kind of just thrown in a pile -- perhaps I'm more used to LA Ktown's nicely plattered meat. There was also dirt on the lettuce leaves -- definitely didn't seem washed. The most unfortunate dish was the steamed egg -- it was burnt at the bottom of the dish to the point it smelled like melted plastic & burning cigarettes. Service was quick and they readily went ahead and washed our lettuce leaves. There were a few other parties in the restaurant and it was overall a pleasant dining atmosphere besides the unfortunate incidents with the lettuce & steamed egg.

I came here on a Friday evening with my friend to grab dinner around 6:00 PM. The wait was around an hour, so be very prepared if you're coming during the dinner rush. This spot is located where the majority of the Asian restaurants are in Milpitas, so it's safe to say the parking can get a bit hectic and intense. The interior of the place is very bright, modern, and clean. There is a lot of seating for a small space, but the reason they are so busy has a lot to do with the number of people wanting to check this spot out. When you sit down, you scan their virtual menu via QR code and order there instead of through a server. You have the choice to order on one phone as a group or separately. Between my friend and me, we ordered a beef mint salad, fried tofu, confit mushrooms, and truffle mushroom rice. I will say that when we first got the fried tofu and confit mushrooms, we were quite surprised by the small portions compared to the price. That said, they were delicious, but skippable if you're trying to find the best bang for your buck. What I absolutely would recommend is their truffle mushroom fried rice. This might have been my best bite this month. It was so savory, the mushrooms hit perfectly, and the coating of butter on the rice was supreme. It was $28 for a bowl, but it was a good value to split between two people. Overall, this place had great, fast service (our food came out in under 10 minutes), a nice ambiance, and fresh, flavorful food.
